My family & I recently ate at Baton Rouge DDO on a Saturday night & we had a good experience overall, however, there are some areas that need improvement. The positive: Our large group was accommodated at a big table & there was excellent communication regarding when our table would be available. Our waiter Dallas had a positive attitude & finished the service strong despite a few hiccups along the way as he was taking our orders for drinks & food. The quality of food was very good. My rib steak & fully loaded baked potatoes were on point. Vegetables were OK but are an afterthought at a steak house IMO 😂. The calamari entrée was excellent. My smoked old fashioned & Heineken pint were very good. The not so good areas that need improvement: It took a very long time for us to get our first drink order taken & we were not offered water. It took 30+ minutes for us to receive our drinks after reminding the staff. This is unacceptable. One of our beers were forgotten. This situation was quickly resolved & we were brought the beer as well as an extra one to overdeliver (on the house). This was a nice touch until we were charged for both on our final bills. This was quickly resolved by Dallas who removed the charge. The size of the Caesar salad was half of what it used to be. It was delicious but Baton Rouge is skimping on the portion size. At the end of the meal, there were extra charges on our bills that were later removed, however, this did not end things on a positive note for some of my family. Overall, I would give this restaurant another shot as the food was very good & service while inconsistent, finished strong from the point of delivering our main courses to the end. Dallas was very professional & addressed any concerns that we had. He was kind & compassionate throughout our service.
We went on a Sunday. We were a group of 12. Service was beyond slow. Waitress dropped the box with the bday cake in it. She forgot to bring drinks that were ordered. Food took over 90 mins from the time we ordered until we got our food. Will not be returning.
Arrived for birthday celebration, party of 12, service was as slow, some guests were not even asked if they wanted a drink. Waited a long time for meals. We had a cake & guests were asked to hurry up because reservation had 2 hour limit, no one was asked if they wanted coffee.
Extremely busy, but well organized location. We had reservations for 6:30 which we got seated on time, & everything came one after the other. Our server was amazing & so was the food, loved the new menu & drinks!

We came here as a group for a birthday recently & the service left much to be desired. The drinks arrived 30-60 minutes after ordering, the food took another hour or so to come & arrived cold/luke warm. However we didn’t mention anything to the waiter because we were never checked on & at that point we were just starving & didn’t want to wait another hour for the food. We were also told appetizers could not come before the main meal because it’s too overwhelming for the kitchen.. so it had to be served with the main dish at the same time.. then why offer appetizers?
We also brought a cake & we were given only a plate but no forks for the cake & had to flag 3 different servers before anyone brought them.
I’ve been to Baton Rouge before in a smaller group & had an excellent experience with the service & food. However as a bigger group I don’t think I would return. It’s just disappointing when you spend that much money & an expectation to have a good night for someone’s birthday & it just goes sideways.
Not only was the food great but so was the service. Our waitress was very nice. The atmosphere was very cozy. The only issue I had were the drinks. My drink was fine but my mother's drink was too strong.
The staff did everything possible to ensure that my party of 8 could still be seated comfortably while abiding by the new restrictions . Drinks & food came extremely quickly , & are waitress was constantly checking to make sure that we didn't need anything else . By far one of my favorite restaurants . Amazing food, amazing staff .
We had friendly & helpful service in both French & English. Our dishes & drinks were served rapidly & were to our taste. Overall a great dining experience.
