CAFFETTIERA (une cafetière Moka en italien), situé dans le Mille carré doré de Montréal, est un bar italien inspiré des années 90.
Le ‘‘ bar ’’, pour les italiens, est l’endroit où l’on va durant sa journée, pour prendre une pause. Notre espresso est torréfié en Italie et infusé avec des machines à piston Vittorio Arduini ainsi qu’avec les classiques Bialettis.

Caffettiera (moka coffee pot in italian) is a 90’s inspired Italian bar located in Montreal’s Golden Square Mile. For Italians, the “bar” is where one goes to take a break from the day.
Our espresso is roasted in Italy and brewed from shiny Vittorio Arduini Lever machines as well as classic Bialettis.
Bar Caffettiera est perçu comme un café italien authentique, avec un espresso et des pâtisseries de grande qualité, notamment le croissant à la pistache et le bombolone à la Nutella, ainsi que des sandwiches et des granitas. L'ambiance est vivante et conviviale avec une vibe italienne forte, musique parfois très forte, et une terrasse agréable en été; l'endroit peut devenir très fréquenté et les espaces restreints, ce qui peut rendre le service un peu chaotique ou bruyant selon les heures. Le personnel est généralement chaleureux et efficace, et le cadre attire autant les touristes que les locaux, offrant une expérience de café traditionnel sans options américaines et une impression de être en Italie. Pour certains, le prix peut être élevé et la foule peut gêner la dégustation ou le travail sur place, mais la qualité du café et des viennoiseries justifie souvent le détour. Très bonne expérience dans ce café au concept 100 % italien ! L'ambiance est immersive, avec une musique assez forte qui rappelle vraiment les bars en Italie, & un café bien corsé comme on les aime. J'ai testé un cappuccino au Nutella : excellente surprise, gourmand mais pas écoeurant. On sent que les boissons sont travaillées avec soin. Petit bémol sur les pâtisseries, qui sont certes délicieuses mais un peu chères à mon goût. Malgré cela, l'endroit vaut clairement le détour pour les amateurs de café & d'ambiance italienne authentique.

Walking into Caffettiera is like stepping through a portal directly into a bustling Rome or Milan café in the mid-1990s. The vibe is absolutely insane-in the best way possible. From the retro, colorful Memphis-group-inspired decor to the energetic buzz of conversation, the atmosphere is incredibly vibrant & effortlessly cool. They have perfectly captured the Italian sprezzatura (studied carelessness). Whether you are standing al banco (at the bar) to knock back a quick espresso or lingering at a table, you feel like you are part of an exclusive yet entirely welcoming club.
While the aesthetic is a massive draw, the coffee is what cements Caffettiera's legendary status. The coffee here is superb, adhering strictly to proper Italian traditions. Expect rich, perfectly extracted espressos with a thick, beautiful crema, & cappuccinos poured with exact ratios-no oversized, diluted drinks here. It is strong, smooth, & served at the perfect temperature to be enjoyed immediately.
Beyond the coffee, the authentic Italian snacks, sandwiches, & pastries (especially the cornetti) round out the experience flawlessly. It is the perfect spot for a quick morning start or a mid-afternoon pick-me-up that transitions smoothly into their famous aperitivo hour.

Italian staff & writing fill the space. It's loud & chaotic, an instant reminder of a typical café in the old country. A great spot for a good cappuccino & a tiny treat.
Decent coffee, nothing exceptional as the cappuccino froth was lacking. Pastries on offer were great & it was a unique atmosphere. Would still go back.
Belle endroit dynamique avec une belle clientèle entre affaires & étudiante. Bon café cappuccino, le seule bémol j'ai trouvé qu'il n'était pas assez chaud à mon goût. Malgré tout je compte reveni

Ce petit café italien est minuscule, chaleureux & plein de charme. Leur marocchino - un cappuccino avec cacao & Nutella - est absolument incontournable à Montréal. 🍫☕? Riche, onctueux, parfaitement équilibré.
Mais ce qui distingue vraiment l'endroit, c'est la qualité du café : tout simplement hors norme. Ils ont leur propre approvisionnement, & même les grains en vente sur place sont d'un niveau supérieur. Rien que pour repartir avec un sac de café à préparer chez soi, ça vaut le détour.
Le seul bémol ? L'espace est très restreint. Au-delà de 15 personnes, c'est vite bondé. Mais si le temps s'y prête, la terrasse extérieure est idéale - chaises colorées, parasols & ambiance vibrante : le meilleur moment pour savourer sa tasse. 🌞
C'est simple : on se croirait en Italie ! Espresso, cappuccino, macchiato, panini... Si vous êtes italien·e·s & que votre pays vous manque, vous trouverez votre bonheur ici ainsi qu'une petite bouteille de crodino pour un aperitivo analcolico.

Honestly, one of the best cappuccinos that I had & all of my travel. It was very smooth. It's a really nice ambiance & the pricing is super fair. The staff are very cool & the patrons of this café are also very nice. Even though it was busy, people were not fighting for seats & they were willing to let the next person have them.
Definitely the best place to grab coffee in Montreal anytime I'm here. I will definitely stop again.

I stopped by Bar Caffettiera on Stanley after wandering around downtown Montreal, & I have to say, their cappuccino was perfetto! It took me right back to my trip to Italy-the rich, velvety texture of the foam & the strong, bold espresso underneath were just like the ones I enjoyed in Rome. The cozy ambiance of the café added to the experience, making it feel like a little European escape in the heart of the city. If you're a fan of authentic Italian coffee, this place is definitely worth a visit!
Tried many cafes & coffee roasters in MTL, but this by far was the best coffee, hands down. Friendly service as well. Got the cappuccino today & it was reaaaallly good.
I met the nicest barista named Mike! Very welcoming, attentive & good at his job! The coffee was amazing, I had a cappuccino & normally I find Montreal coffee very sour/acidic but they have a good blend! I also had the toast carabol (?) which was very tasty & made for a wonderful breakfast, although next time I might go for one of their delicious looking pastries! The cafe has a lovely atmosphere, very dynamic & open to conversation! I would highly recommend going!
I always either get a latte or a cappuccino & I have to say, it's one of the best I've had in Montreal. The roast is perfect & it truly packs a punch. I prefer it to blonder - & thus more acidic, fruity & floral kinds of coffees. The atmosphere is also great & their playlist is amazing.
