CAFFETTIERA (une cafetière Moka en italien), situé dans le Mille carré doré de Montréal, est un bar italien inspiré des années 90.
Le ‘‘ bar ’’, pour les italiens, est l’endroit où l’on va durant sa journée, pour prendre une pause. Notre espresso est torréfié en Italie et infusé avec des machines à piston Vittorio Arduini ainsi qu’avec les classiques Bialettis.

Caffettiera (moka coffee pot in italian) is a 90’s inspired Italian bar located in Montreal’s Golden Square Mile. For Italians, the “bar” is where one goes to take a break from the day.
Our espresso is roasted in Italy and brewed from shiny Vittorio Arduini Lever machines as well as classic Bialettis.
Bar Caffettiera est perçu comme un café italien authentique, avec un espresso et des pâtisseries de grande qualité, notamment le croissant à la pistache et le bombolone à la Nutella, ainsi que des sandwiches et des granitas. L'ambiance est vivante et conviviale avec une vibe italienne forte, musique parfois très forte, et une terrasse agréable en été; l'endroit peut devenir très fréquenté et les espaces restreints, ce qui peut rendre le service un peu chaotique ou bruyant selon les heures. Walking into Caffettiera is like stepping through a portal directly into a bustling Rome or Milan café in the mid-1990s. The vibe is absolutely insane-in the best way possible. From the retro, colorful Memphis-group-inspired decor to the energetic buzz of conversation, the atmosphere is incredibly vibrant & effortlessly cool. They have perfectly captured the Italian sprezzatura (studied carelessness). Whether you are standing al banco (at the bar) to knock back a quick espresso or lingering at a table, you feel like you are part of an exclusive yet entirely welcoming club.
While the aesthetic is a massive draw, the coffee is what cements Caffettiera's legendary status. The coffee here is superb, adhering strictly to proper Italian traditions. Funky Italian cafe. Perfectly snarky, tongue in cheek humor in the vibe. The most in incredible pistachio croissant I've ever eaten. I will dream about that pastry for the rest of my life. Espresso is excellent with the perfect balance of flavor & crème
Delightful…the best independent coffee place I have been to for ages either side of the Atlantic. Great espresso, wonderfully tempting pistachio donuts & very convivial hosts.
Great coffee, great vibe, great people. A fusion of an authentic Italian coffee bar with a little hipster twist. Also doubles as a cocktail bar. No frills, no americanos.
Reasonably priced, especially for downtown.
Had a pistachio double espresso shot which was delicious.
They also have typical sandwiches you might find in Italy along with their own creations.

Nice retro atmosphere with traditional italian coffee
Good way to start your morning. I mean, a few pushy, impatient customers, budging in front of me, but happy the barista noticed & served me before them.
Sorry for eaten pastries in photos I had no patience to taste 😁 was delish.
Ordered my Americano & extra shot of espresso & notified me they do not add water, it's against policy or something (I am very forgetful). I ordered the top 3 pastries & a meat & cheese sandwich, & was not disappointed. Thank you Bar C.

Espresso was nothing special. Pastries were awful. The donut was wet & tasteless. Filled croissants had no flavor or texture whatsoever. Service was good & staff was friendly.
C'est simple : on se croirait en Italie ! Espresso, cappuccino, macchiato, panini... Si vous êtes italien·e·s & que votre pays vous manque, vous trouverez votre bonheur ici ainsi qu'une petite bouteille de crodino pour un aperitivo analcolico.

Montreal has hundreds of great coffee shops…Bar Caffettiera is a notch above. Stepping in to the space you are greeted in French & Italian. The menu is just like any of the ubiquitous Italian cafes…even offering to coretto your espresso. Perfect macchiatos served with a small glass of sparkling water. Delicious Italian sweet breads stuffed with Nutella or pistachio cream. Peroni or Prosecco, Baci or torrone.

I got a very strange tasting, grilled cheese & my partner who is granted an espresso snob got a shot that was pulled extremely fast. We mentioned it to the barista who is friendly at first, but this seemed to be an annoyance. Overall not terrible but I wouldn't go back.
I stopped by Bar Caffettiera on Stanley after wandering around downtown Montreal, & I have to say, their cappuccino was perfetto! It took me right back to my trip to Italy-the rich, velvety texture of the foam & the strong, bold espresso underneath were just like the ones I enjoyed in Rome. The cozy ambiance of the café added to the experience, making it feel like a little European escape in the heart of the city. If you're a fan of authentic Italian coffee, this place is definitely worth a visit!
