A dear friend introduced me to this incredible restaurant for my birthday, & I've been a regular ever since! The steak is cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor, & the entire menu showcases culinary excellence. The service is impeccable, attentive, & warm. I recently organized & celebrated a milestone birthday for my husband & sister in law yesterday at 40 Westt. The entire experience made me feel like I was in good hands. Everything from the planning with Nia & Anthony of the private room & menu to the food & the service with our amazing waiters Michael & Ethan to the greeting at our arrival & the atmosphere made every person in our group feel like VIP's. From the moment we walked in, the stunning decor took our breath away-the ambiance is both elegant & welcoming. The food? Absolutely amazing. Every bite was bursting with flavor, & the presentation was impeccable. The drinks were equally outstanding, crafted with precision & care, making each sip a delight. What truly made the night unforgettable was the exceptional service. Our waiter, Michael, was not only incredibly helpful but also had a great sense of humor, making us laugh throughout the evening. He went above & beyond, even helping with our twins, which made the experience so much more enjoyable for us as a family. I took some customers with me for dinner here at someone I knows recommendation. It is a really nice place & is very cool because it feels like you are in a historic building when you walk in & not a newer construction building. The food was pretty darn good but the only reason I didn't go 5-star was we had two steaks out of three that were ordered that were not cooked to requested temp. I ordered Medium & I got well-done. They did make it right & cooked me a new steak. The mushroom ragu was very good along with the loaded baked potato. I got the bone out ribeye which was seasoned perfectly just off on the cook. The second steak was cooked perfectly & was very tender & delicious. I would recommend this place for a nice night out & will bring customers back.Voir plus

The food was great, but not sure if it felt somewhat overpriced. The service was spectacular, every issue was swiftly dealt with. The one thing that was not amazing was the table, it was not properly set & ended up being slightly slanted, which was inconvenient. I would recommend going, as the food was super, but just slightly overpriced. Great ambiance, quality steaks & excellent service aimed to keep the customer curious, entertained & in the process making the time memorable. Kudos to Rashid & team for a wonderful evening yesterday serving our group of about 12 people. Now to the main course - the food... If you visit this restaurant, do order the seafood tower - you're welcome! Lobster, jumbo shrimp, crab, oysters - in an impeccable presentation. Appetizers - we ordered at the recommendation of Rashid a few - calamari, scallops, an engineered feat of a small pita with cheese & caviar put together at the table, & Japanese Wagyu samplers- the entire team thoroughly enjoyed the starters. At some point someone asked if we even needed any steaks! Now to the steaks. Rashid brought out a bunch of cuts to explain the different nuances - it was obvious that he's done it a few times, as he went through it seamlessly! Most of the team were intrigued by the bone-in fillet mignon, an 18 oz, roughly 2" thick steak with enough marbling to render a juicy steak after it hits the 1500 degree Celsius coal fired grill. The second crowd favorite was the Cowboy steak. Verdict - from an ambiance & service standpoint, I rate the restaurant & it's crew as 5 stars. On the seafood - 5 stars again, a rarity from my side to rate seafood at a Steakhouse for 5 stars. & the ratings for the steaks - 4 stars. & my reasons for not rating them at 5 stars. Start with the Japanese Wagyu samplers - I didn't find the Wagyu samplers to be in the top category comparing similar samplers I've had in the recent past, most notably Blueblood Steakhouse at Toronto Casa Loma. The bone-in fillet mignon was unique & I've never seen this on a menu till now. It was cooked perfectly well & as you go closer to the bone, the flavors increase as well. I definitely enjoyed the steak. Overall, a quality Steakhouse with an excellent seafood offerings in the Montreal area, which I'll highly recommend for any connoisseurs of a good steak!Voir plus
I had the rack of lamb & it comes with the garlic mashed potatoes & asparagus which were really good 10/10 for the dish itself. The apple crumbs pie? Wow it'll have your toes curled up. 100/10😍 Cons : My friends had the surf & turf & the salmon which I don't really recommend. I want to take some time & say thank you to Nia, Theodore, Joey & all the staff at 40 Westt. This year was my first year hosting a staff Christmas party for 18 people & Nia was absolutely amazing to work with. She's an amazing event coordinator at this establishment & really helped me pick the right menu for my party. Theodore, our head waiter for the night was absolutely amazing along with all the other waiting staff & management whom I had the pleasure to interact with during the evening. CUSTOMER SERVICE DESERVES NOT 5 STARS BUT 10! Food & drinks were served in a timely matter & the food from the Canapés all the way to the dessert was absolutely Delicious! World Class Food & Service Wow Wow Wow, what an excellent experience. We chose 40 Westt for our company holiday supper & we are so happy that we did. Anthony overseas his team with great detail & pride. From the moment we walked in, the 3 hostesses received us with glowing smiles & all the assistance we needed to feel welcomed. Our food varying from steaks to seafood was nothing less than perfection. Our waitress Farah gave us exceptional service from beginning to end, her recommendations were on point for everyone & she never steered from our every need. Although this was not our first time at 40 Westt, overall I have to say that this is one of our finest dining experiences. It all ran smoothly, everything was delicious & we wanted for nothing. This restaurant is very nice & beautifully decorated, but the food & service could use some help.
Had the surf & turf , 6 oz. filet mignon with 2 scrimp, the filet was burnt on the outside, which gave it a nasty flavor even though the inside was pink.
Don't order the black cod, tasteless....really need a new recipe or new chef,I've never had worse black cod , unable to finish even half of the small portion.
The octopus entrée was very good.
Wine list is good & reasonable for this type of restaurant at three times SAQ prices. We had a simple Brusciatto at $70.
our service was slow & inattentive.
With tax & tip $287 for two.
Food / service is simply not good enough to merit this pricing.
I would not recommend it.
We were a group of 25 people for a birthday party. The service was horroble, we had arrived at 8pm & we started eating at 11pm , it took so long to get the food & the drinks. This restaurant was highly recommended but for the price we paid the service & tbe food were horrible. I would never go back or recommend this restaurant to anyone.
