Overpriced ski resort dining experience. Most surprising & annoying was that this japanese restaurant would not make a slightly customized Maki roll.'We don't customize,' said the waitress. The miso soup arrived lukewarm at best.
2 pieces salmon nigiri C$9, yellowtail nigiri $16View more
This is a smaller restaurant in the resort that serves Japanese cuisine. They were willing to accommodate my large group of 14 which was super nice of them. The food however was ok. The portions were kind of small imo & overall food quality & taste was also ok. The ramen was great for after ski. The rice for my salmon roll was pretty dry & the curry order didn't come with rice at all just a small plate of curry which didn't really feel like a main dish. The other more special rolls were pretty good so were there other apps like the takoyaki & gyoza. Overall not bad but i'll take a peek at other restaurants on the resort before opting for this one.View more
This restaurant is a tourist trap…it looks cool, but the food is low quality & poorly executed. The miso soup was "fine", & it turned out to be the high point of the meal. We had a rainbow roll that tasted like supermarket sushi. The pork gyoza looked nice, but tasted bland & uninspired. Kani traditional udon noodles was a bowl of dry linguini, covered by a thin layer of Rice Krispies, & seasoned with a discordant mix of ginger / garlic & heavy crab meat…this was a memorably unique & unpleasant dish. At $120 for 2 people, it's best to visit the many wonderful Quebecois restaurants within a 20 minute drive.View more
We had an amazing night at Yama. The food was delicious & the service was amazing. Great small plates to share followed by sushi rolls. Jordan, our server, knew the menu well & tailored the meal to us, making the experience even better. He picked a great sake for us as well! Thank you; Jordan! Looking forward to coming back.View more
The atmosphere & service were good, though the food was just okay. While the taste was good & the presentation was certainly nice, there were some things that could use improvement. For instance, the tempura was not as crispy as normal, so it may have been able to be cooked for longer to achieve the desired level for crispiness. The smoked salmon roll & miso soup were excellent though, & I would definitely get those things again.View more
You have to try their cocktails! They're a bit on the expensive side (CAD$20+), but that's cause they're elaborate & a sight to see! I tried the Arugurei (gin roku, earl grey tea, lemon juice, syrup, prosecco) & my gf tried the Ume Sakura (gink roku, prune wine, lime juice, rice & coco liquor, egg's white, syrup, rose water) & we were both thoroughly impressed by the textures & flavours & especially the refined look (the rose-shaped ice in hers was truly impressive! It even had golf leaf on the petals!) We tried quite a bit of their izakaya (tapas) menu items & their maki summer rolls & we weren't that impressed, but it was OK. We got lucky because the ambiance was ecstatic in the square; it was Canada day & a DJ was playing crowd favourites & a bunch of Indians were square dancing!View more
great place for white people, 2 stalks of asparagus in one roll of sushi truly incredibleView more
Very expensive, portions were extremely small for a $25 dish. Only 5 pieces of rolls for a signature menu unless you order for double. Mediocre taste while service was nice.View more
The food was below average, the noodles tasted like ketchup. We ordered some starters & sushi rolls for the main dish, after 30 minutes of wait the waiter told us there was more rice & they couldn't complete our order....This was our first & last timeView more
Had a good experience with my wife. She ordered gin drink (recommended by the waiter), it was refreshing. We started with the tempura & our main ramen & a Maki roll. The tempura was fresh & very crispy, ramen was decent, the Maki roll ain't the best. But overall we had a great time.View more
It's not like the village has a lot of great places to eat. This is easily the best & would be the best in most major cities. Atmosphere, staff, & quality of food. For $100+ I had Edamame, Gyoza, a drink, two rolls, & dessert. That is beyond fair price for the quality of what you get here. If you need a night to a really excellent place, this is it. I've eaten a lot of Sushi in NYC & this easily is in my Top 5.View more
Maybe I should've expected sushi at a ski resort wasn't going to be as good or plentiful as local eats in my own area. Rolls were ok, omurice not very tasty, yaki soba ok, miso good. Atmosphere pretty cool & service was good.View more
I am so glad my husband & I stumbled upon this restaurant on our quick trip to Mont-Tremblant today. The food & service was absolutely amazing! The inside decor was also super cute & modern.
We ordered the miso soup, tempura plate, tofu & carrot guoza, Ebi Chili, & the Vegetarien roll. I couldn’t believe how much flavor they were able to pack in each dish, even the miso soup wowed me. The ebi chili was probably my favorite dish of the day, as it was so unique & full of flavor. Also the vegetarien roll may have been the best vegetarian sushi I’ve ever tried (& I’ve tried a lot). The gyoza was also amazing & had perfect crunch. All the food, especially the shrimp taste fresh & cooked to perfection. I highly recommend stopping by this restaurant! We will definitely be back!View more
