Oh myyyyy goodness! As a huge fan of American-Itallian pizza I am always on the hunt for something similar tasting available locally. Until now, the search hasn't been successful... I've tried the other mtl "NY" styled slice shops, & while they are good, they pale in comparison to the "real thing". Welldun is such a gem in MTL! We ordered New York slices as well as Detroit & they were both incredible & very authentic! Perfectly balanced in flavour, acidity, crisp & chew... Beautiful selection, friendly service & very clean. Great first experience & I will most certainly be back! Would be awesome if they introduce a Chicago deep dish as well!
Oh my goodness, I honestly did not think I'd survive the hellish furnace that is Welldun Pizza on a sweltering Verdun evening. I waited for over 45 minutes (with my baby in tow), can you believe it, for just 4 pizza slices, that for all intents & purposes should've been ready to just shove in a box & send me out the door with. The working (& waiting) conditions in the restaurant were quite close to unbearable. I would be surprised if the temperature & lack of ventilation were actually legal for the staff working there. While the pizza ovens themselves were vented, the rest of the restaurant did not appear to be, so every time the ovens were opened, the room filled with smoke that just hung in the air. There were two paltry fans for the staff themselves, but nothing at all for the people waiting well over half an hour to even be greeted. I understand from reading other reviews that the family establishment did not expect the heat & ventilation to have been as much of an issue when setting up (are they new to Montreal?), & I respect that making any major changes takes time & money that may well not be available at the moment, but at the very least, could they not have bought a few utilitarian-but-effective fans in the meantime? While the staff were clearly working themselves to the bone, & I will say nothing against anyone doing their best to meet the demand, the actual ordering process & general organisation was poorer than I even thought possible for a pizza slice place. When you finally get to the front of the queue after goodness knows how long, all the pizza you had mentally earmarked to order on your way in had disappeared, & the woman of the front shrugs unapologetically & says "that's just how it goes... if you want to wait another 10 minutes, we may have some more". & bear in mind that these were the only veggie pizzas available - ordering from one of the other multitude of pork-topped slices just wasn't an option. The pizza itself was, thankfully, fantastic. Hence the 2 star review, & not 1. & I hope that the restaurant can iron out these operational challenges. Montreal deserves this great pizza, but I am concerned, seeing the beleaguered looks on the queuing customers' faces, that far fewer will get to try it than should.

Hands down the best pizza I've ever had. A unique spot in that they have 4 styles to choose from (NY, Detroit, Sicilian, & Grandma) & all of them done exceptionally well. Most pizza spots usually just stick with one style, or two. My favourites were the Sicilian pepperoni & Detroit vodka sauce with pesto. I would recommend dining-in so you can get the slices freshly re-heated out of the oven.
Easily the best thick/bready pizza slice I had in Montreal. Exploding with flavors & quality ingredients. I especially loved the crispiness of the detroit-style, & the toppings of the vodka bacon slice were amazing.
service was very good & friendly. long wait time on a friday night to be expected the sauce is great & the ingredients are quality, however the crust on my new york slice was burnt & IMO inedible will have to to go back for 2nd try
In our pizza jaunt my friend & I decided to sample all three thicknesses of pizza that Welldun has to offer. The sheer fact that there were three different types of crust is enough to wow me but we then had to decide on the actual contents of the pizza. Luckily the restaurant has options & we chose to maximize our pizza sampling power. All three slices were a hit made even better with my classic drink, an ice cold ginger ale which they thankfully do also carry, likely knowing about the power of the combo. A fantastic adventure that tested my mind

On a beautiful stroll on Wellington, we passed Welldun, a place I wanted to try so badly. We had not had lunch but being close to dinner, we opted to order one New York style slice & asked them to cut it in two. They were so kind to do so, service with a big smile, & the pizza.....delish!! the sauce was amazing as was the crust & cheeses. Don't walk, run to this place! Pic is of the half slice. Oh & they have different style pizzas from super thick Detroit style to the thin New York style.
I'm sure the pizza must taste really good here, but we went in tonight at 6pm, got in line, expecting it would be maybe 5-10 minutes. After 20 minutes of standing in line, we'd barely moved halfway & it was so hot inside we had to leave. All the customers looked like they'd been waiting a long time & there were so many phone orders being made it seems like it must take a really long time to be served. Very strange for a place where you order at the cash & there are slices on display to choose from. Obvious issues with the process. We'll try again on a quiet night.
A bit of a wait to order your pizza but it's worth it. The food is delicious we got the vodka & bacon Detroit style & it was amazing. I will note the restaurant was very Smokey & hot so be prepared for that as you wait for your slice.
Best slice of pizza you will have in Montreal. Full of flavour, fresh ingredients & some of the most original recipes you will see in town. It's like gourmet food on a budget without sacrificing the flavour. I'm on the east side of Montreal & it's worth the drive. HABLAN ESPAÑOL

I waited so long to try this place & I was wish I would've gone sooner. I'm in love. Every slice was better than the other & the service was awesome. I can't wait to go back. I recommend this place to everyone
This place is a must visit in Montreal!!! The pizza was genuinely the best pizza me & my husband have ever had in our lives. We got a slice of the grandma Margherita to taste, & a box of Detroit style pizza with burrata on top. Somehow we couldnt decide which pizza was better, because they were both so good. Everything is made fresh to order, they give you great recommendations on what to eat & the flavor combinations (they really know their flavour profiles). Plus the restaurant is super clean, we were very impressed with the cleanliness. If that wasn't enough, to top it all off the customer service is truly unmatched, everyone was super friendly & seemed to love what they do. I live hours away from Montreal & can't wait to go back!!! We recommended this place to all of our friends. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!!! Outstanding place!
One of the best slices of pizza's in the city that I have yet to try. All the toppings were great, the crusts these pizza's have are crazy good. Highly recommend this place to anybody in the city or if you're visiting. **only downside was the front cash girl said no other pizza's are available, but then another customer after me asked the same & she said yes but you might have to wait. I mentioned to her that I'd gladly wait for bigger selection but I didn't get the same response as somebody else**
Each slice is packed with flavors & taste & the dough compliments each on its own. Superb texture & will definitely be back to try out the remaining flavors. Thank you

Went there with a friend & their kid & we a good time. The pizza is tasty & personally with one slice I was full! It's super crispy & fresh. Theres a lot of vegetarian option too & really what made it so good is the sauce 🍅. Theres also morreti beer on tap, so thats a plus & you can also dine in :)
Every aspect of the pizza: toppings, sauce & dough are amazing here!! The dough is chewy & elastic, with a little bit of tang from the sourdough-style fermentation. I enjoy every style of pizza they serve, just choose based on your mood. If you're indulging, go for the cheesy crust of the Detroit-style & if you want something lighter but still crispy & filling, the New York & Grandma-style are good options. The toppings taste fresh, & they are definitely generous. The sauce is balanced between sweet & tangy & perfectly complements the dough. If dining in, there's a spicy olive oil that I love to smother my pizza with. One slice is quite filling but I always want more! One of my favourite pizza spots in Montreal!
Not sure what to call it but it was a rectangle of pizza. I chose the Sicilian Pepperoni & ordered it to go but warmed up. It took them almost 20 minutes to bring me my "slice". Was it worth the wait? Nope. I'm not sure if it's their sauce or the pepperoni but the pizza is way too salty. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed.
My first visit to welldun Pizza. I had the Sicilian pepperoni slice. It was amazing. The dough light, fluffy & crispy. Sauce was nice & tangy, & they put lots of pepperoni, which made a bit too salty but still very good. I will definitely be back to try other slices. Brought home a Margherita pie that was delicious. 9.1/10 outstanding 👌
I came here on Saturday March 9th around 1pm & was greeted with nice warm smile from the staff over the counter, asked me how my day was & if they could get me anything. Right out the gate I'm very happy! I got a square of the Detroit pepperoni & it was good! I have never had Detroit style before & it was hard to rank it among other slices of pizza because it's not a slice, it's more like a fluffy crispy lasagne. It's hard to judge something I've never had before but if I could critique anything it would be that the tomato sauce was a little bland, maybe it's just me (probably is) but it's something I noticed. I also wasn't ready for the tomato sauce falling off lol Overall I loved it! I see some other reviews on here saying that it's "too expensive" but you gotta realize that in today's economy, stuff overall is expensive. So, to get a square of this for $6/$7 is a DEAL! 10/10 Atmosphere - 9/10 Food & taste - 10/10 Service
