Hand crafted, locally sourced high-quality ingredients made by pizza-loving hands. I have had every slice they make. My favourite is spicy sausage. & I'm a crust freak. WELLDUN crust is probably the best I've ever had. If you get one with some char...LUCKY YOU. It is thick crust, which has always been my preference. We recently got 4 large pies for a fundraiser & sold out in minutes. There is some dining space & a few oven-front counter seats ( my preferred spot). Owners are a local husband & wife team. This pizza place is their passion & it shows. Just go. You're gonna love it.
Shared three Detroit style slices for two & had leftovers, these are filling. Each slice was great though & they have lots of unique flavors. Probably not the best Detroit I've had but very solid for the price & time. Line moved quick & staff were efficient
around $7 a slice. loved the detroit MVP & the pepperoni sicilian. the caramelized onion on the NY blanche is super nice too.
I recently tried Welldun Pizza on Wellington, & I was impressed by their great selection of pizzas, including Detroit, Sicilian, & New York styles. Each slice is around $7, depending on the style. I opted for the Detroit & Sicilian style, & just thinking about it has me drooling, it was absolutely perfect!
The staff were incredibly kind & seemed to genuinely enjoy working there, which made the experience even better. Another bonus is the free water jug they provide, perfect for water lovers like me!
While it's definitely more of a high-end pizza spot & can get a bit pricey, the quality is 100% worth it. I can't wait to go back!
It's always so crowded, so it took me almost 6 months to finally show up when the line wasn't so bad. Most of the pizzas I wanted were gone so I tried the mushroom pizza. It was delicious! If you like foccatia bread, you'll love the pizza selection. Prices are great for the size of a slice.
This is my favorite pizza shop in Montreal & I tell everyone to come here. Have been coming here since their opening & will continue to do so. I compare every other pizza shop I try to theirs. I really encourage everyone to come give them a try.
I could've sworn they made the New York pies smaller than they used to be since a couple of my orders felt like they were smaller but the store replied to my previous review & confirmed that they are still the same size they've always been & have not changed the size so It might've been my mind playing tricks on me when putting them side by side with the slices sold in store. I appreciate that they replied to my previous review & clarified it. All in all - great food & responsive owners. I wish them all the best & will continue supporting
Although the pizzas were really tasty, the ventilation exhaust system inside the fast-food pizza place was terrible. All of our clothes smelled like pizza for days afterward. That being said, I did like the variety of pizzas offered. The pizzas were sold by the slice or as a whole, & if you ordered by the slice, you could choose only from the ones on display, which they reheated for you.
Excellent pizza.. good variety of slices. Detroit style was right on the mark.
Tonight's pizza was one of the best pizza my partner & I have ever eaten. Wow!!
I often grab a slice or two at the counter, & it's always great, but the NY vodka + pep pie we ordered tonight was incredible. I never leave reviews, but this needed to be shared. Thanks!
Service is okay. We ordered pizza online for a specific time & still had to wait an extra 20 min, no apology offered.
Food is good but pretty filling. 1-2 slices & you are full. Mushroom pizza is the best.
The. Best. Pizza.
I've tried two of their slices, & I could almost bet any kind you order will be your favourite. You can tell the ingredients used are high quality & this establishment knows what they're doing when it comes to pizza, all kinds of pizza at that.
The joint itself was nice & retro as well as clean. They do offer beer & a variety of other beverages to complement their slices.
I noticed one guy who ordered a whole pie, also grabbed a slice to eat while waiting for his order to be completed. This just speaks to how exceptional Welldun's pizza is.
Amazing pizza spot. Usually very good. I find their Detroit pizzas to have way too much tomato sauce & usually I love lots of tomato sauce on pizza. I know that's the point of that style, but it's just too overwhelming. Also last time, we got 5 slices & a lot of it was burnt way too much. Completely black & inedible in the corners. I overheard the cooks saying they need to turn down the oven, but it's the shame they let burnt pizza slices go out to customers. They also need better ventilation in the kitchen because it's not a safe working environment for the kitchen staff with all the heat & fumes. Just some constructive feedback.
If I'm in the area, I usually'accidentally' wander into Welldun & sit at the window with a slice. The Detroit-style gets me every time & if I decide to take out, I tend to grab two of different kinds as I can never seem to decide which one to go for…
Super polite at the cash. I'd love for everyone to have that energy, that's the kind of vibe that gets me coming back.
Went there first time but inside it was huge smoke because pizza was prepared. But I enjoyed a slice of pizza.
Easily in my top 5 pizza in Montreal. Possibly even top 3. I took the sicilian meat lover & the magherita grandma. The magherita was absolutely delicious. I finally understood what the umami flavor means. I do have one complain about it tho. The cashier told us it was fresh, but I think they let it cool too much & the slice I received was lukewarm at best, which made the slice a bit hard to chew. Still, despite that, the flavor was insane. I prefered that flavor over the sicilian. I highly recommend trying the place & I'll be back myself for sure.
There are two categories of pizzeria's in town. Welldun falls under the latter: Expensive, High End with a spin (in this case, two) on pizza's.
Marguerita Pizza (the true choice to test the 3 main ingredients). Dough spot on, thin, light, crispy. Sauce nice, like one step below fresh tomatoes (not possible season round) but good, right flavour. Cheese was mozzarella, it was okay & helped out by the pecorino grated cheese. 4 out of 5.
Spicy Sausage Pizza. Ah yes, this one could of been great like other pizzerias. Dough, Sauce, Mozzarella like a Margarita. By spicy sausage, we thought the sausage was spicy (spicy peppers used for hot & spicy flavour). Way too little sausage (maybe 10 fingernail size pieces of sausage) & Way too many peppers (they got quantities mixed up imho). 2.5 out of 5.
Sicilian Style Pepperoni Pizza. Well, I am not a fan of this spin on a pan type pizza. Tomato sauce stlii good, but the dough is a little too greasy imho (not sure if Sicilian Pizza is supposed to be this greasy). Ah, the pepperoni, sorry guys but it is one of the low end ingredients you use on your pizza's. It is bland, super small, & gets'dog ears' when cooked as it curls up. Only saving grace, it's not oily on top. Flavour less. 3.5 out of 5.
This place hits a homerun for that walk in slice & go customer. They sell alot, it's fast & fresh. Hard pass if you're doing takeout for a family & friends gathering. 3 pizza's ran me a $100 & at best they are like a Domino's Medium in size. They were not bad, but with 6 people & kids there was leftovers.
Delicious! We ordered 3 slices. Everything was delicious. Don't know what they put in the tomato sauce but wow, so good! Perfect crust for all different styles of pizza. I can't remember what they were. Two were the pepperoni & one was a margarita. Definitely will be getting my pizza from here from now on & you should to.
I'm not crazy about the detroit & new york style but love the sicilian & grandma. Very original & delicious! I wish I could have vegetarian vodka sauce option :)
EDIT JULY 2025: I have gotten a new york slice a couple times & I like it a lot more now.
