The restaurant itself is stunning. So natural & beautiful. A earthy & simple vibe which relaxed me but when the food started coming it was anything but simple. The flavours were so complex & I could tell that so much effort went into each dish, each sushi roll & everything we were served. The presentation was amazing & the service was great. I was very impressed & I think I will need to stop in here on every trip I make to Montreal because this place was heaven!
Usually when you order an entree & only take one bite, followed by the request for the check, the server asks if there was anything wrong. Pilling on loads of ingredients into one roll was just a cacophony of opposing flavors. Salmon was overwhelmed by salty/sour/pickle? I'm not even sure. No real expectations, but when you're paying that much for bite sized portions, there were some. Environment was unique & cozy, great date spot.
Food is great but it always takes a long time to get the food whether it's here or bloom sushi. Wish you got a little more for your rolls too.
All vegan sushi! The quality is very good but it comes with a price. I took the omakase which came with miso soup, pork dumplings (vegan), 12 sushi pieces & dessert. I don't recommend the omakase because the sushi rolls were very good but everything else was ok. So instead of paying 50$ for the set, I'd get 50$ worth of sushi. The reason I didn't go with the rolls from the start was because I didn't know what was what (The lighting was very dim & the menu letters were worn out). I would have liked a menu explanation because it's not your typical sushi. The service was really slow it took forever to get our order. I forgot to take a picture of the dumplings because I was too hungry & there 24 pieces (they combined 2 orders). Overall impressed of the vegan sushi!
A new Montreal favourite. This was insanely delicious. Some of the best sushi I've had in my life (I'm not vegan or vegetarian). - The Gyu tempura roll was amazing - The roll with capers on it was my favourite. Holy cow it's so good. Make a reservation 1 week in advance !! 10 pieces of sushi each was enough for us. The service was amazing. The waiter just asked how many rolls we wanted & chose for us. He chose really well. The dessert is pretty good, but not amazing. It was $36 for 10 large pieces of sushi & dessert.
Started off with a miso soup that had the perfect amount of saltiness & umami flavor. Subsequently had two different types of rolls that were extremely delicious & tasted very fresh. The atmosphere inside felt very cozy with nice warm lighting. The bilingual staff were very nice. Downsides: the price - but that is to be expected since this restaurant is a little bit more upscale. Also, they only give you five rolls. Felt like the portions could've been a bit bigger. If I find myself in Montreal again, I will not hesitate to come here again.
I was pleasantly surprised by this vegetarian sushi restaurant. The rolls were delicious! My favorite was the one with halloumi cheese in it. Yum!
The vegan sushi was good but we were not blown away by it. The gyoza were good, the edamame had some odd spices on it. The rolls all kind of tasted the same except for the Delhi (we had the delhi, momo, sirean & rose). They were good but the delhi had something fried on top that should have been crispy but it was limp & soggy. Why the soy paper instead of seaweed? It stuck to the board & wasn't flavorful. Service when we came in took a few minutes for anyone to acknowledge us at all (I thought maybe we were in the wrong restaurant). Otherwise friendly & helpful. Drinks were good. It's not cheap. Would not go back.
As somebody who doesn't consume fish, I'd never thought I'd be able to experience the pleasures of a fine omakase, but Sushi Momo allowed me to do so, without falling short of expectations.
I had their set-menu, which included an oyster shooter, a mango-soba salad, chef's choice of sushi, & a brownie.
The shooter was made of savoury, stringy oyster mushrooms in a slightly tangy sauce with a crispy chip on top.
The mango-soba salad was great, I enjoyed how the fried onions provided a flavorful & textural contrast to the luscious noodles, same with the radish & greens. However, the mangos were underripe & overly tart.
Chef's choice of sushi rolls provided to me were the Delhi, Tropical, & Oyster Mushroom, Caviar, & Truffle.
Delhi was reminiscent of Japanese curry, with crispy fried kabocha & peppers on a roll with konjac shrimp & a light curry flavour behind it.
Tropical was a refreshing punch, of mango, coconut, freeze-dried strawberries, with a yuzu-mango sauce, & the same konjac shrimp. In both instances the konjac shrimp was chewy & flavourless, but it did not detract from the food.
Oyster Mushroom, Caviar, & Truffle was a mass of rich creamy mushrooms with a seaweed caviar on top of a thick piece of fried rice.
The dessert was also presented well, a fudgy brownie with strawberries, & a raspberry & mango emulsion, but I wasn't a big fan.
I was so excited to try out this vegan sushi restaurant & it did not disappoint. We went with the Omakase menu to be able to try a bit of everything. The menu was quite extensive with lots of variety. The salad was flavorful & fresh & the rolls were as beautiful as they were delicious to eat. So much play on textures & flavors. Using konjac to make it look like a salmon sashimi is brilliant. Will most definitely go back!
Favourite sushi restaurant hands down! Can't go wrong with the Momo roll. I also really liked the Sakura roll. So far everything has been delicious. It can get busy in the evening so try to reserve in advance.

Very good! & very filling!! We loved the flavours & the presentation. However, it might be good to try & make some of the rolls maybe a slight be less rice & a slight bit less filling to make them just a little bit smaller. The piece were beautifu

I went with 2 friends, non of us being vegan, & we all agree that our sushi craving was more than fulfilled at Sushi Momo! We got the 3 person tasting menu (which could have served 4 people). Each roll was so dynamic & flavourful. Great atmosphere. Pl

Delicious vegan sushi! The selection is amazing, & the staff were great in helping us navigate the menu & pick our rolls. Will definitely return next time we are in Montreal.

You continue to be the best sushi I have ever had. The creativity of your rolls is unparalleled. Thanks for another amazing meal! :)

Another wonderful birthday celebration at Sushi Momo! We had a delicious meal from the group menu with an amazing selection of appetizers including the beet tartare, dumplings, spring rolls, miso soup & papaya salad followed by a massive selection of i

Absolutely to die for !! Every single roll is unique on its own, service is good too!!

Cool, unique food. Very pretty layout of food itself & nice atmosphere. Some rolls were a bit...experimental, but I feel like that was just part of the experience. I had a great time.

Incredible, creative & delicious. Get the jackfruit pizza & 3 mushroom roll!

My family & I enjoyed our dinner here. We took the tasting menu for 4 people which was very good value & a lot of food. The meal was very creative & flavourful & we enjoyed everything. I found a few of the rolls a little too salty for my taste
