Afficher toutfresh(115) cash(96) sesame(86) oven(48) cheese(45) shop(40) dozen(28) classic(26) recommend(25) atm(24) flavor(23) authentic(23)I am a bagel lover, & you guys gave me what I desired. I came exactly in the right moment, when fresh sesame bagels came out of the oven. With the bagel I got cream cheese, however not Philadelphia, but KIRI. KIRI?! Absolute childhood memories unlocked. I loved it! Prices are super good, & the guys were super friendly! Overall I really enjoyed it, & can only say: sensational!
Had to wait about 10 minutes in line, but it was totally worth it. We tried the sesame, all dressed, & pumpernickel bagels-so good we had to stop by the Mile End location for two more sesame bagels. Fresh out of the oven, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside-absolute perfection! Just a heads up, it's cash only.
Fast & friendly service. Freshly baked sesame bagels came right out of the oven when we got there ordered a dozen of those & 1/2 dozen mixed. Many different bagels to choose from
I found St. Viateur's bagels to be overrated. The hot & fresh poppy seed was not bad, & the cold sesame had a good flavor, but in general the cold bagels were hard & void of much flavor. I made this a central place to visit during my time in the city, & I definitely wouldn't next time. I don't know if I came on an off day, or if this style just falls far short of the NYC style. A reminder that it's cash only, & take-out only. My favorite aspect of the bakery is the quaint atmosphere, & you're not really able to enjoy it because of the nature of the line & it being take-out only.
WARNING - they only take cash. We took a 20-minute Uber without realizing this & I only had my credit card. They have an ATM on-site so I used my credit card but had to pay extra cash advance fees. Posting this so others know - bring cash or your ATM card. Staff were very friendly & apologetic. They had the sesame bagels warm out of the oven & they were good (tasted good but nothing outstanding). Their maple & apple bagel was interesting (good & unique) & their pretzel-salt bagel was good too.
Very iconic MTL place! Cash only! But there's an ATM in the store! Always try the sesame bagel, it's the one which is always fresh & almost always hot from the oven 😋 There's no spot to sit in this branch, but you can buy small portions of cream cheese, Nutella, or even salmon to put on your bagel & enjoy it fresh 😊
St-Viateur Bagel delivers an exceptional bagel experience. We sampled a dozen, split between regular & sesame, & each was superb-fresh, perfectly chewy, & bursting with flavor. The regular bagels had a delightful density, while the sesame added a crunchy, nutty twist. Service was friendly & efficient, making the visit even more enjoyable. If you're a bagel enthusiast or just looking for the best in town, St-Viateur is a must-try. Hands down, the best bagel I've ever had!
The fresh & hot sesame bagels were the best I've ever had! The team are really helpful as it was our first time, they have various types of cream cheeses catering for vegan & lactose free with smoked salmon & various spreads in the fridge & a table you can quickly create your own bagel. We brought capers, red onion & sat at a nearby park for a picnic. Smashed them so quickly we didn't take any other photos 😂 try & time it for the fresh hot sesame bagels! Also tried the blueberry, raisin, rosemary & everything bagel (prob my least fave). I froze our leftovers & am still eating them on our trip 😍 Thank you!
Small location baking bagels only. No sandwiches made. Buy your own cream cheese from the refrigerated section, grab a bag of amazing bagels, & enjoy! The fresh sesame seed bagels when warm are amazing!
Classic example of Montreal style bagels & my favourite place for bagels. Your order will always be fresh baked bagels as they are constantly baking batches but if you can time it right (or ask politely) you can get ones that are fresh from the wood baked oven. They have a few varieties (like blueberry) but the classics are poppy seed & sesame.
Got a fresh hot sesame bagel & I personally thought it was great. I loved the slightly chewy texture inside & the slight crunch outside. There was a line but it moves pretty fast. Pick up some cream cheese or other toppings from the fridges on the side & pay for them in the front with your bagel order. There's another location not too far from this one & I'd probably just go to the one with the shorter line next time. Bring cash!
Ask for fresh warm bagel since thay may not be just right out from the oven. Sesame is my favorite. I like the toasted sesame / bake surface / dough. I can taste the sweetness of the flour. I would disagree with someone who would prefer a more salty flavour in the dough.
I had wishlisted this spot in Montreal for bagels since almost 1.5 years. On my visit to Montreal I made sure I get hands on these, but unfortunately couldn't have them fresh due to time constraints, however even though we were getting late to head back to Toronto, we decided to get these bagels & take them home. We visited it at around 9:30 PM & still they were making them fresh. Couldn't get all of their specials as they were sold out, but did get a few of them & they were so good. I got Sesame, Butterscotch, Maple Apple & Whole wheat & they were all really worth the hype.
This is a true gem. The bagels were fresh & warm. Highly recommend the sesame seed. Bagels didn't age that well, so eat them fresh or seal them in plastic quickly.
This chain maybe a later comer than The Fairmount but I personally like this location for few reasons. Bigger space, much more engaging & friendly staff that made you feel welcome. The sesame bagel same price @1.25CAD is really hot & fresh compared to lukewarm one at Fairmount, better crunch & aroma. So that's my 2 cents worth.
Les meilleurs bagels en ville tout simplement. Ceux au sésame valent le détour si vous visitez Montréal & surtout, essayez la version garnie de saumon fumé & fromage à la crème avec un café sur place! De bons articles en boutique aussi!
Admittedly, there's a large following & many great reviews. For me, it's preference & for my taste it didn't align. I did like the size & tried several, all dressed, sesame & poppyseed. Again, for my taste seemed like the dough wasn't salted. The place was clean. Wait staff friendly & helpful. A bit busy with a small line out the door & almost every seat taken including the outside.
The best bagels I've ever had! I bought 6 sesame seed bagels & they were as fresh as could be.. hot & soft
A legendary bagel shop in Montreal, renowned for its hand-rolled, wood-fired bagels. Offers bagels with a perfect balance of chewiness & crispness, available in classic flavors like sesame, poppy, & everything. Definitely, a favorite for both locals & tourists. The shop's warm, inviting atmosphere & the sight of fresh bagels being made on-site make for a delightful visit. For an authentic Montreal bagel experience, St-Viateur Bagel is unparalleled.
