The server gave us a warm welcome but from there it went downhill.
My filet mignon was charred & tasteless although it was cooked at the right temperature. In the menu it said that every steak came with confit cherry tomatoes & horseradish. When the steaks arrived at our table they were missing both of those components. Our sever told us the horseradish was gratted over the top which we could barely see & asked if we wanted her to bring us the tomatoes on the side. Well for $60+, yes I would like to have all the components I am promised on the menu on my plate. She was nice enough to bring us a few tomatoes & some actual horseradish on the side. However, the cherry tomatoes were not confit, they were barely cooked & my garlic mushrooms lacked garlic.
Next, my mother is lactose intolerant. She wanted to order the salmon but it was made with a cream sauce. They told us everything except for the risotto was easily modifiable. They said the cream sauce could be made without the cream, but the salmon came out with no sauce at all. She asked to replace the brussels sprouts with mushrooms as she has trouble digesting them but her plate came out with brussel sprouts & a few mushrooms over the top. Thankfully when we sent it back it took little time for them to fix the mistake.
The only good part were the drinks & the half cornish hen. We also had the seafood mix for our appetizer, way overpriced but good.
The cooks need to be trained better because when you order $60+ steaks you expect something juicy, perfectly seasoned & not charred. As for the servers, please ask them to look over the food before it is brought out to ensure everything is as it says on the tickets. Again for the price of these plates, the service has to be immaculate.

I've been coming to Sel Noir regularly & it never disappoints. The steaks are consistently on point, perfectly cooked, full of flavour, but honestly the mac & cheese deserves its own mention. Rich, indulgent, & the perfect companion to whatever cut you order. The drink menu is where they really surprise you though, unique cocktails you won't find just anywhere, & they're as well-crafted as the food. Add in attentive service that makes you feel like a regular & a vibe that's moody, lively, & just plain cool, & you've got a spot that's hard not to come back to. If you haven't been, go. If you have, you already know.
The food was excellent, & the ambiance was somewhat unexpected for a steakhouse, more like a bar, with dim lighting & a lively, inviting atmosphere.
The only downside was how strictly they manage table time. There's a two-hour limit, & you're asked to leave once it's up. Since we were a large group, it took some time to get served at the beginning, which unfortunately made the end of the evening feel rushed.
There seems to be a disconnect between the pace of service & the pressure to turn tables quickly, with reservations perhaps scheduled a little too tightly for groups of six to eight.
Nice little spot for a steakhouse. Dim light & dark ambiance make it into a perfect restaurant even if it's for just a drink. As for the cocktail, I had a NY sour, one of the best I've had. We started it off with the beef tartare served on a bone marrow & for the main plate, we ordered a rib steak with some fries on the side. Steak came out lukewarm at best & it was lacking some salt. Prices were on the more expensive side especially for the bone marrow but all things considered a decent steakhouse.
Je suis allée manger au resto de mon ami & je suis tellement fière 🥹❤? Tout était vraiment parfait, le menu était excellent, les plats étaient délicieux & le steak… juste wow 🤤🥩 Ça vaut vraiment la peine d'y aller!
Ça prend beaucoup trop de temps j'ai attendu 1h pour avoir un plate de steak. Des personne qui sont venu après moi on été service avant moi !
WoW! The steaks were cooked to perfection; the Tomahawk was so worth it! The service was great. Spent the night celebrating a birthday! We felt recognized & in great hands. Already planning a future celebration here. Oh & the truffle fries yummyyyy
'One of the best steakhouses I've been to. The steak was well-flavoured & cooked perfectly. I usually order my steak well done, & many chefs end up making it too chewy or burnt, but that definitely wasn't the case here. You can tell the chef is a professional. The prices are on the expensive side, but the quality of the meal made it worth it. I really enjoyed my meal.

We had the bone marrow tartare 5x⭐?, the oysters 5x⭐?,the wagyu burger 5x⭐? the lobster & shrimp risotto with the chef secret garlic butter 5x⭐? & we canot forget the mind blowing kumquat carajillo ⭐?⭐?⭐?⭐?⭐?.

Service exécrable, lent & peu convivial
L'entièreté de l'équipe était au bar & «chillais » pendant que le serveur & la cuisine avaient clairement besoin d'aide malgré le petit nombre de table.
Pour un beau total d'une heure 20 minutes d'attente pour la nourriture, un poulet qualité st-hubert & un steak sans goût, JE NE RECOMMANDE PAS!

I wanted to try this place for a very long time since it always shows up on my IG news feed. The cocktails were good. The entres were good 2. La pieuvre était bonne. However, it all fell down, when me & my brother-in-law ordered the tomahack, lobster & shrimps for 2. Weirdly for a steakhouse, everything that came from the sea was good but the tomahack was a hell of dissapointment!!. We asked for medium well, it was cooked blue. We had to ask to grill it again because it was way too bloody. Then after the first bites, we were double dissapointed. The meat had NO FLAVORS WHATSOEVER. It's like they took the meat from the animal & just put in the grill with no salt, no pepper, no seasonings..It was NOT TENDER...🤨😒 bruuhh My expectations were too high I guess...Nonetheless, our servers were very nice & even gave my sister a slice of cake for her bday...
Unfortunately, I live far from d-town, so this visit will probably be my last.
Really cozy ambiance, great food. Had an amazing espresso martini, & don't even get me started about the steak. Amazing quality & delicious. Highly recommend coming
Nous avons découvert ce resto pour la 1ere fois & avons eu une super belle soirée. La nourriture était excellente, le steak parfaitement apprêté & les fruits de mer aussi. Le service attentionné.

Food: we ordered the Filet Mignon & Pan Roasted King Salmon. The Filet Mignon had no flavor, was brutally charred & not cooked properly. The Pan Roasted King Salmon had a strange texture & a bright orange sauce that didn't compliment the dish very well. For my drink, I ordered a Tanqueray & tonic; it was watered down & had barely any substance to it. The side of fries were decent.
Service: we had a female waitress who wasn't very attentive nor friendly. I noticed that she was very attentive & outgoing to the three other parties in the establishment, except for us; we were virtually ignored. We had to ask for water, straws, a steak knife; probably because we were tourists - so that tells you what you need to know.
Atmosphere: was very nice, I did like the interior, but the vibe of the waitstaff was… not good. The restaurant was empty & the waitstaff were just chillin around the bar, giving strange looks. The gentleman who greeted us & took our coats upon entering was very nice & welcoming, but it was unpleasant & downhill from that point forward.
As a tourist, I wouldn't recommend this place.
