Nice decor & lighting. Server tried his best but some things fell short, he made up for it though which I appreciate. Food was alright, filet mignon was a bit too salty, salad was large but pretty basic except for the fried onions adding some crunch, mushrooms were a good side with a decent portion. Beef tartare was pretty basic, just tasted like mustard. The kumquat caranillo was a smooth caffeinated cocktail.
I wanted to try this place for a very long time since it always shows up on my IG news feed. The cocktails were good. The entres were good 2. La pieuvre était bonne. However, it all fell down, when me & my brother-in-law ordered the tomahack, lobster & shrimps for 2. Weirdly for a steakhouse, everything that came from the sea was good but the tomahack was a hell of dissapointment!!. We asked for medium well, it was cooked blue. We had to ask to grill it again because it was way too bloody. Then after the first bites, we were double dissapointed. The meat had NO FLAVORS WHATSOEVER. It's like they took the meat from the animal & just put in the grill with no salt, no pepper, no seasonings..It was NOT TENDER...🤨😒 bruuhh My expectations were too high I guess...Nonetheless, our servers were very nice & even gave my sister a slice of cake for her bday...
Unfortunately, I live far from d-town, so this visit will probably be my last.
Superbe expérience au Sel Noir, cocktail délicieux, entrées divines, plats délicieux & très fins ! C'était vraiment merveilleux, encore plus, grâce à notre adorable serveuse Marie-Lou qui été très professionnelle & bienveillante ! Nous recommandons & nous reviendrons c'est certains lors de notre prochain séjour sur Montréal !!
J'ai trouvé le sel noir super acceuillant notamment grâce à Gabriel qui nous a conseillé de délicieux cocktails basé sur nos goûts. L'ambiance est aussi très agréable presque speakeasyesque. Parfait pour une date entre amoureux !
I visited Sel Noir this past Sunday for the first time with some friends. Overall it was a great experience. Our server Tony recommended us some cocktails. We tried the New York Sour & the Purple Haze which were delicious. For the starters we tried the beef & salmon tartares & for main we got rib-eyes. Top-notch. It was great , however it is more on the pricier side. We will definitely be back!
We had the pleasure of dining at Sel & Noir, & it was nothing short of incredible! We ordered the Chef's Plate, a delightful surf-&-turf creation featuring perfectly cooked steak, succulent lobster, & tiger shrimps. The plate was accompanied by loaded baked potatoe, & crispy Parmesan fries-all bursting with flavor & cooked to perfection. Compliments to the chef & the team!!
The Carpacio was another highlight-fresh, exquise, & dressed to perfection. As for the cocktails, they were absolutely delicious & expertly crafted, adding the perfect touch to our meal. Compliments to the bartenders!

I really enjoyed this place. Someone invited me to a birthday dinner. The food was very excellent. I hope I can go back to this restaurant, only if I had some friends or a boyfriend😅 This place is lovely. The cocktails are amazing!!! Enjoyed my time & hopefully I come back soon! The food is very fancy. It's definitely worth going especially on special occasion
It's rare you go to a restaurant & see the owner working along with the staff & running plates. Desmond was an amazing host & took care of us like family. Recommend trying it out & giving a taste to their cocktails

Went to the restaurant with my friend for their birthday & the food was delicious, nice music & really the spot to be . A place that you must visit . Their cocktails are also delicious! Excellent service from our waiter. Thank you
Amazing restaurant that checks all the boxes! The atmosphere is warm & inviting, with a perfect blend of modern decor & cozy ambiance. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable, receptive, friendly & so fun, & did a great job of guiding us through the menu, cocktails & wine list with genuine enthusiasm. The food is delicious. The wine list is fantastic. They also often have new desserts, which are all 10/10. Great spot for any occasion!!

J'ai adoré mon expérience! Très beau restaurant au goût du jour, accueillant, chaleureux, avec une belle ambiance. Le personnel est extraordinaire & a su satisfaire mes demandes. La nourriture est délicieuse & le faux filet était excellant, la parfaite cuisson. Je recommande fortement d'essayer le beurre à la truffle & le chimichurri avec la viande, c'était exquis! La purée de pommes de terre gratinée était incroyable & savoureuse. Ils m'ont fait un cocktail personnalisé inspiré de mes goûts & il était très bon. La cuisine est de haute qualité & en vaut le prix. Vous devez aller essayer, vous ne saurez pas déçus!

j'y suis allé avec ma copine & mes 2 pré-adolscents. Comme je disais, j'avais de grandes attentes. & bien....je n'ai pas été déçu. Des cocktails surprenants & délicieux inscrits dans une carte des vins diversifiée & cohérente tout en étant très raisonnable quant au prix. Les entrées à la carte sont nombreuses & variées & bonifiées de beaucoup d'entrée du moment. Les pièces de viande sont expertement apprêtées. Le tout couronné d'un service prompt & attentionné (Je salue Gabriel !) exécuté dans une chic ambiance lounge.
We had a fabulous dinner! Great food & friendly, efficient & knowledgable service. The Tomahawk for Two was a very memorable experience. Excellent cocktails, wine list & draft beer. We really enjoyed the evening & highly recommend Sel Noir Steakhouse.
