'One of the best steakhouses I've been to. The steak was well-flavoured & cooked perfectly. I usually order my steak well done, & many chefs end up making it too chewy or burnt, but that definitely wasn't the case here. You can tell the chef is a professional. The prices are on the expensive side, but the quality of the meal made it worth it. I really enjoyed my meal.
I wanted to try this place for a very long time since it always shows up on my IG news feed. The cocktails were good. The entres were good 2. La pieuvre était bonne. However, it all fell down, when me & my brother-in-law ordered the tomahack, lobster & shrimps for 2. Weirdly for a steakhouse, everything that came from the sea was good but the tomahack was a hell of dissapointment!!. We asked for medium well, it was cooked blue. We had to ask to grill it again because it was way too bloody. Then after the first bites, we were double dissapointed. The meat had NO FLAVORS WHATSOEVER. It's like they took the meat from the animal & just put in the grill with no salt, no pepper, no seasonings..It was NOT TENDER...🤨😒 bruuhh My expectations were too high I guess...Nonetheless, our servers were very nice & even gave my sister a slice of cake for her bday...
Unfortunately, I live far from d-town, so this visit will probably be my last.

A wonderful steakhouse experience with quality dishes & warm atmosphere. The steak was well-prepared & the truffle fries were a flavourful treat, but the true standout was the cheesecake; rich, smooth, & easily the best part of the meal. Highly recommend!
Had a great experience at Sel Noir! Went here for dinner with a group of 12 guys to celebrate a bachelor party. The space is beautiful & gives perfect steakhouse vibes. The staff gave excellent recommendations to feed us all within our budget. We ended up getting a few Rib Eye surf & turf meals for the table as well as an assortment of appetizers. The steaks were huge & all the meat was all beautifully cooked. The bone marrow beef tartare & grilled octopus appetizers were also incredible.
The wine selection was extensive & we all left there feeling like we ate a meal fit for royalty. 10/10 would recommend as the food & service is awesome. Will absolutely be going back. Thank you to all the staff for the excellent meal & hospitality!
This steakhouse is really great, the meat is tender & juicy, & it's cooked just right.
The service is excellent too, which makes the whole experience even better.
First time going to this steakhouse & probably my last. The wait time for the food is ridiculously long. Probably had like 20 cups of water just waiting for it. The appetizers took 30 mins & the main course took even longer. Wasn't a big fan of the food either.

We were excited to try Sel Noir but we were very disappointed.
Ordered the Tomahawk steak & by the time it arrived, it was cold & tasted bland! No sauce was offered & after we asked for some, it took 15 minutes to get it. We don't mind paying premium prices but we expect premium quality & service. This was not the place for that.
The staff was not particularly pleasant, leaving us ignored at the door while they were chatting away in front of us. The only one that stood out was the young man serving us water & asking how everything was. The shrimp was tasteless & also cold. The carrots & mushrooms were tasty but not the reason you go to a steakhouse.
The atmosphere was the saving grace. Nice ambiance & if the food & service was good would make a great place for special dates & occasions. There are much better options out there.

Excellent steakhouse, great atmosphere (albeit a bit cramped) with good service. Most of the food was wonderful but some dishes could have been better (for example the honey glazed carrots were bland). Definitely recommend the burrata as an appetizer & the black cod or salmon for mains! The mashed potatoes gratin was an absolutely phenomenal side!

I absolutely loved my experience at Sel Noir Steakhouse. Perfectly located in downtown, the chic ambiance is ideal for a date night. My bloody Caesar was spot on, & the service was excellent. The Caesar salad, burrata, & beef tartare were all amazing - everything was just perfect! Highly recommend!
I was there for dinner with a party of 8. The atmosphere, service & food was all fantastic. Steaks, starters & sides were all fantastic & the environment was very comfortable. Best steakhouse in the city

Wow, wow, wow is all I can say. I travel all over Canada for work & visit many restaurants, this was one of the best steaks I had. If you know the popular Ruth's Chris steakhouse, I gave the Ribeye 9.5 there, this one a solid 9. Tasteful, tender & cooked to perfection. Great place to visit.

Came for dinner Saturday night & to be honest expectations were pretty high because of the reviews & the price point. Huge disappointment. Service was slow, but OK overall. The amount of oil used in every dish was mind blowing. A nice piece of meat should not be bathed in oil. Mushrooms were drenched & carrots the same... Lastly, I was always taught that you can judge a place by its washrooms & let me tell you they were absolutely FILTHY. Did not spend more than 30 seconds in there.. All of that to say that for the location & the price point when you compare it to the big guys In terms of steakhouse, It's Doesn't come close...
