We came across this restaurant in September 2025 on our first night in Old Montreal. We ate outside on a beautiful evening close to closing time. The food was very good, the drinks were good, the service was very slow. The server was kind & polite, we just didn't see much of her once we received our food. We loved the food & view, so we would definitely go back.
We really enjoyed yesterday's visit to this restaurant. We stopped off for a drink & a snack. The patio was a perfect place to relax, the waitstaff were warm & friendly. They had a fabulous buck-a-shuck oyster deal, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

We were seated very quickly inside as requested (we did have reservations) but unfortunately it took 20 minutes for our waitress to see us initially to at least offer us water. We took that opportunity to order drinks which took another 20+ minutes to get. We ordered our appetizers which came at a decent time if you compare to what we were experiencing already & same with our main. Unfortunately we were never checked on in between. It felt like we were forgotten but i will say the food was fantastic.
When in Montreal the vibes here were amazing- I travel a lot & never met a safe & understanding serve like Assia. She came over & realized our waiter was missing & took over. Her nature to make sure all guests were enjoying themselves showed instantly. I hope if you ever visit sea salt tall get her area. The food & drinks were good concepts. I enjoy seasalt mainly for the service.

Chairs are hard & food is overpriced . I ordered the special - 4 jumbo shrimps - the bill was $80.00 for 4 shrimps , my boyfriend had the chicken & we had a few drinks . It costed us $370 . Definitely not worth the money . Atmosphere was nothing special
Very good service, good ambiance.
The barman named Basch came & talked & joked with us.
Every mistakes on drinks or food is on the house

We came in for the 1$ Oyster special, & we were 4 clients wanting to order a dozen each plus drinks & appetizers.
They only serve us 12 at the time, where we had to wait an hour for the first dozen & then another 40 minutes for the second round of 12. We ended up cancelling the other rounds of oysters. On top of that, we did not get any cutlery or plates until our food got in, again after an hour wait.
Disaster!
We were in Montreal for the weekend & saw a happy hour sign - oysters $1 - we went in & it was great. The chef himself was shucking oysters & making drinks. We sat at the bar & got to know him & his staff. The ambience was super chill & very friendly. We'll be back for sure ⭐.

The bartender is extremely stingy. A cocktail is a mocktail, & a double is a single. I would have belligerently complained but after 3 "drinks" i was completely sober, so i just paid & left.
My wife n I were visiting old historic Montreal in June 2024. We discovered Seasalt across the street from the seaport. Our hostess was pleasant n seated us immediately. Our server (Gilles) who appeared to be part of management greeted us with a warm smile n was simply charming. He's from France but was probably one of the best hosts we've ever encountered. We ordered drinks n appetizers. The weather n scenery was perfect. We could've stayed a few hours. There are numerous spots to stop n eat, but...what a great staff, delicious food n marvelous drinks. We sat outside n was fabulous.

I recently visited an incredible place, called Seasalt, & I was thoroughly impressed. The calamari was perfectly cooked & delicious, while the drinks were absolutely out of this world. Highly recommended!
Amazing night at Seasalt! We were in Montreal just for a night & decided to go for a drink. We sat down at the nice bar & enjoyed a beautiful glass of red wine. The bartender was super friendly, professional & warm. & our waitress super kind. We loved our drink there & would go back with pleasure!
I highly recommend this place. It's nice, cozy & the food is great. If you want a drink, just ask Olivier & he'll do wonders ;) Everyone is nice & I'll sure be back this summer to enjoy the terrace!!
