The atmosphere was absolutely stunning & we were immediately greeted by the kind, friendly & knowledgeable staff. Our server gave us excellent recommendations & as the food arrived to our table, every dish was better than the last. To eat as much as we did & feel so amazing after goes to show how good quality the food & chefs are. The attention to detail did not go unnoticed & we will 100% be coming back. Thank you to the incredible team at Satu Lagi. We will be telling everyone we know about this incredible spot!!View more
Nice restaurant, but a bit pricey, with creative takes on Indonesian cuisine, especially for the appetizers - I liked the idea of serving sambal as an appetizer. However, coming from the Netherlands where Indonesian food is quite common, I found our main dishes'underwhelming'. The Rendang lacked its usual bold flavors & tasted more like a mild beef ragout with coconut/peanut. The Marinated Beans were tasty but a bit undercooked & quite pricey.
Also, special note : their online reservation system asked if it was a special occasion - it was my anniversary - but there was no follow-up at the restaurant. Better to skip the question if it doesn't lead to anything...?View more
An Indonesian evening feast kicks off with bold flavors:
- A vibrant assortment of sambal for every kind of heat-lover
- Juicy Daging skewers, marinated in lemongrass & turmeric
- Crispy Jamur Jamur, golden oyster mushrooms dusted with fragrant spices
Each bite is a punch of spice, crunch, & comfort, a perfect way to start the night. 🥰View more
Stylish atmosphere, friendly staff, & beautifully presented dishes. We enjoyed the chicken & fish skewers, gado gado, rendang, chicken curry, & pandan crème brûlée-the dessert was the highlight. While everything was well-cooked & satisfying, the flavours lacked the boldness & depth we've experienced in Southeast Asia. The drinks were refreshing but mild. A pleasant experience overall, just not as punchy as hoped.View more
I had the pleasure to visit Satu Lagi for a solo dining on a Saturday evening & I left deeply satisfied. This intimate & dimly-lit establishment offers a delightful selection of Indo-Malaysian plates & cocktails all done exceptionally well.
Upon first walking in, the restaurant welcomes you with the enticing smell of smoke coming from its open kitchen. It is amazing to watch the kitchen work so seemlessly with the massive fire intermittently stealing my attention away from the food as it ignites & dances against the rhythmic tossing of the wok.
The bartender is also extremely nice, humble & passionate about her craft. The sheer enthusiasm radiating from her is contagious. It was a pleasure to connect with her as she shared about the'secret' & the history of the Pomelo cocktail. What a creative drink that replicates the flavor of an ingredient that isn't even included in the recipe.
The food far surpasses expectations with each dish made with care & offering a range of texture, flavor & aroma.
The jamur jamur of fried oyster mushrooms was crispy without feeling greasy, & the pickled shimeji mushrooms add a much needed acidity. The kajang panjang kluwek was deeply savory & umami. The fried caramelization on the beans & the softened onions add a rich sweetness that complements the saltiness.
The highlight of the meal was the cumi bakar bali; albeit small, the calamari packed a lot of flavour & aroma. It was smoky with charred bits, sweet & lightly spiced from the tamarind glaze, & perfectly cooked tender with a slight bite.
Overall, Satu Lagi was a pleasant surprise & I will surely be coming back for more. The food was delicious & all of the staff care deeply about the quality of the food served & of the service provided.View more
Small brunch menu but very nice. Great flavour, but the Crème brûlée was a bit too brûléeView more
This place is special - the consideration & intentionally in the food, drinks & atmosphere are top notch. Standouts for my pallet are the mushrooms, malay Cote de boefe, the rendang & honestly all the cocktails. Ask your server for a natural wine pairing.View more

I had the pleasure of dining at Satu Lagi during my visit to Montreal, & it was truly a highlight of the trip. The flavors were bold, authentic, & exceptionally well-balanced. The gado gado was a standout-fresh, vibrant, & dressed in a perfectly creamy peanut sauce. The satay was grilled to perfection, tender & full of rich, smoky flavor.
The drink selection was equally impressive, with thoughtfully crafted cocktails & a solid variety of alcoholic options that paired beautifully with the meal.
Beyond the food, the staff were absolutely wonderful-warm, attentive, & genuinely passionate about what they do. Their hospitality made the experience all the more memorable.
Satu Lagi is a must-visit for anyone seeking high-quality Indonesian cuisine in Montreal. I'll certainly be returning.View more

Mon restaurant sans gluten préféré! Tout ce que nous avons commandé était tellement bon! De la vraie cuisine thaïView more
I came here for an anniversary dinner & the main draw for us as I have celiac is that this place is 100% gluten free! We loved this place, the options were amazing & everything was delicious, I've included in the photos the names of the menu items we ordered. Service was nice, the only thing was that the fried banana was slightly over fried but still yummy. It is very expensive, but this is our reality, would come again though!View more
I really enjoyed the food at Satu Lagi! All of the items we ordered were delicious.
Since we were two, they offered to add an extra skewer to each dish for an additional fee so we could each enjoy two skewers per plate, & we appreciated this. I will say though, the food is on the pricier side so just be prepared for that.
We tried 3 satay skewers, the chicken, beef, & shrimp. They were all delicious & flavorful. The chicken & beef were very moist while the shrimp was a little bit overcooked but the sauce was so good. My favorite dishes were the chicken satay (Ayam), beef satay (Daging) & the Chinese broccoli dish (Kailan Bakar).
I was really happy with my overall experience. The staff was friendly & attentive. We also got lucky to be seated right away without reservations but I would recommend that you make reservations as they did get very busy. I would definitely go back, especially to try their bunch menu!View more

A nice brunch spot on Mont-Royal. Went there with some friends for brunch & we tried an assortment of the satay entrees & the mains. They also had bottomless mimosa for 30$, which we found to be very reasonable. Overall I would recommend trying it out for brunch
The stand outs were definitely the satay skewers, we especially liked the beef & the fish. As for the mains, the maple fried chicken was pretty good.
As for the service, it was alright throughout the meal, the food came out a bit slow instead of all together which led to some waiting.View more
Amazing dinner. The beef rendang threw me right back to my Yogyakarta trip, the fried mushroom dish was actual heaven, service was very attentive, & the decor is wonderful. I can only recommend, & look forward to coming again :)View more
