THE FOOD, it's amazing I can not reiterate enough how great - please please try the pork buns & the fried rice ! Sooo great our server Mason was lovely & Frank provided an extra touch of care to an amazing service.
Satay Brothers is a colorful restaurant serving Singaporean dishes, located near the popular Atwater Market. I visited on a Saturday evening, & the place was packed. There was a short line at the door, & we waited about 20-25 minutes before being seated at the bar, which worked out just fine.
The staff were very friendly & welcoming. The host at the entrance, whose parents run the restaurant, was especially warm, & both the bartenders & servers were attentive despite the weekend rush. That said, if you go on a Friday or Saturday night, I recommend putting in your order quickly since service can feel a little stretched when it's busy.
I ordered the Char Kway Teow ($20 CAD), a stir-fried noodle dish with shrimp, clams, & Chinese sausage. The flavors were good & matched the menu description, but my only disappointment was that the portion size felt quite small for the price.
The atmosphere is what really stands out: bright decorations, colorful energy, a mix of people enjoying both food & drinks, & hip-hop music adding to the vibe. It's definitely a spot for more than just eating-it feels like a place to hang out & soak in the energy.
Overall, Satay Brothers is a fun, vibrant place to enjoy Singaporean dishes in Montreal. If you want to avoid the wait, try going on a weekday, but if you don't mind the crowd, the weekend buzz is part of the experience.
A tribute to Monday service. It's monday night, it's the summer, you're bummed you have a whole week of grind in front of you, you just want to ease into the week with good food, good service & good vibes. THIS is where you go. We eat out a lot in Montreal & staffing is always a challenge in early summer. What could be a poster child for a trendy spot has all the stars for professional execution. Charming staff, welcoming in French (gros plus ici), smiles, attention, always accurately spiced plates. THIS is what makes a restaurant stand out year after year: day in day out execution from the moment you step in. Especially on a Monday. & on this simple Monday night shared plates at a bar corner, we simply had a lovely time.
Fun vibes at this restaurant & flavourful food!
The cocktails were tasty! My favourite was the pandan daiquiri - the pandan aftertaste was delicious.
The noodles came with a lot of seafood & the seasoning was spot on. The char kuay teow was a little sweeter than I thought it was going to be (thought it was going to be a bit more savoury), but still delicious nonetheless.
The decor is fun! It is a little loud in the restaurant so it is a bit hard to talk if you have a soft voice.
Will definitely want to come back to try more dishes!
A pretty chill bar like place with good food.
Ordered some of classics like the satay & the mi goreng. They arrived pretty fast & also tasted great. The mi goreng was tasted classic. The other noodles we got also tasted pretty good.
We also got some drinks. tried the Pandan cocktail & it was so good. The after taste of Pandan was especially nice while drinking.
The atmosphere & decoration was also really cool to see. Overall strong vibes!
Amazing dinner at Satay B. !! Food was amazing. Vibes immaculate. I haven't had such good & attentive service in years!!! We were a group of 10ppl but felt like we were 2ppl the service was so good. They were super easy about accommodating food restrictions. 10/10 would go back tomorrow. Thank you guys
Satay Brothers is hands down my go-to spot in the city. The food is unreal - full of bold flavors & totally worth what you pay. The vibe is always super fun & welcoming, & the decor is cool & laid-back without being pretentious.
You can't make reservations, so be ready to wait a bit - but honestly, it's part of the charm. & if there's a wait, there's a small bar right next door where you can hang out until your table's ready.
Must-orders? The bao buns, the laksa, & the Satay Ayam. But honestly, I've had everything on the menu & it's all amazing!!!!
Satay Brothers feels like a little hawker stall dropped into St?Henri. Color everywhere, sambal in the air, & the pork?belly bun/laksa combo hit all the comfort spots. Tiny room, big vibes-worth the wait in line.
One of my favourite Montreal spots. Super well priced & great vibes. Highly recommend the pork belly bao buns, papaya salad & kueh salat (SO GOOD).
Pandan daquiri is nothing special. Satay Lager is solid.
Walk-ins unless you're a large group so the wait can be a bit during peak hours. If you're a big group, you need to do family menu, which is good value for money.
Food was really delicious. I was part of a really big group (like 15ish) & they accommodated my peanut allergy/pescatarianism really well! Awesome service. Loved the vibe as well!
Unreal vibes, food is fantastic & the service was great. Highly recommend if you find yourself in Saint-Henri.
Great place with a great atmosphere. Any day of the week you go, there's a vibe. Food is always good. Service is always good. Prices are very affordable. Definitely a go to spot!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sataay Brothers, & I can't say enough good things about this place! From the moment we walked in, Alex & his staff made us feel right at home with their attentive & friendly service. They truly go above & beyond to ensure every guest has a wonderful experience.
The food is absolutely amazing! Each dish is bursting with flavor & cooked to perfection. You can tell they use quality ingredients & put a lot of love into their cooking.
The décor & vibe of the restaurant are off the charts! It creates a warm & inviting atmosphere that makes you want to relax & enjoy your meal.
Overall, Sataay Brothers is a hidden gem that I can't recommend enough. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by for an unforgettable dining experience!
Keith & Richard here, (ignore the Tristan name. I do that to fool friends)We just got done having dinner. Great to see you again. Our first time at the sit down location. Went right into the Lamb & Chicken Satay. Loved it along the Pork Bao buns.Meegoreng was great. Spicy but not over the top. The Laksa was very good, but missing a little of the creaminess of the broth & the Lemongrass flavor we remember at the Atwater outlet. Otherwise fantastic. Love the vibe of the restaurant. I'd say you guys are well loved by the customers for good reason. We hope to get up there in the summer sometime, but will easily go back to the restaurant. Best wishes for more success!
Good food & good vibes ! Also like that we can wait at their bar next door for a table! Our server was so nice, she was very present & attentive even if she was very busy.
Great food & vibe. Some of the best Bao buns in Montreal. However, not the best Moscow mule for the price you pay.
Great food, service, & vibe. Everything made to order, hot, & fresh. Unique selection & great specials, recommend it you have a friend in town.
Top tier place with great staff, great for sharing a ton of dishes with friends. The atmosphere is great but it's a shared table style especially when it's busy. Be ready to sit with some strangers, such a great vibe between the staff & the people though it's an awesome experience with great food.
Had my birthday dinner here & it was fantastic! The set menu is reasonably priced for the amount of food you get, & they were super accommodating to a variety of dietary restrictions. The food was delish, vibes were wonderful & everyone had a great time.
