Satay Brothers is hands down my go-to spot in the city. The food is unreal - full of bold flavors & totally worth what you pay. The vibe is always super fun & welcoming, & the decor is cool & laid-back without being pretentious.
You can't make reservations, so be ready to wait a bit - but honestly, it's part of the charm. & if there's a wait, there's a small bar right next door where you can hang out until your table's ready.
Must-orders? The bao buns, the laksa, & the Satay Ayam. But honestly, I've had everything on the menu & it's all amazing!!!!
Satay Brothers feels like a little hawker stall dropped into St?Henri. Color everywhere, sambal in the air, & the pork?belly bun/laksa combo hit all the comfort spots. Tiny room, big vibes-worth the wait in line.
One of my favourite Montreal spots. Super well priced & great vibes. Highly recommend the pork belly bao buns, papaya salad & kueh salat (SO GOOD).
Pandan daquiri is nothing special. Satay Lager is solid.
Walk-ins unless you're a large group so the wait can be a bit during peak hours. If you're a big group, you need to do family menu, which is good value for money.
A place totally worth the hype! The food is delicious specially the Laksa & buns. It has a laid back atmosphere & a speakeasy next door.
A local resident's recommendation led us to Satay, a Singaporean gem that immediately charmed us with its warm & relaxed atmosphere. Our curiosity & hunger were quickly satisfied by a culinary journey that began with an exceptional Laksa. The broth was rich & fragrant, a symphony of spices that left us wanting more. The buns were another highlight, perfectly fluffy & paired with a tofu preparation that was nothing short of brilliant - crispy on the outside, tender within, & bursting with flavor. To complement our meal, we indulged in the Satay Lager, a crisp & refreshing beer that perfectly balanced the richness of the dishes. Satay delivered a truly memorable dining experience, one that we'll eagerly repeat.
The food was great & so was the service. The chicken satay skewers were probably the best thing we had. The bao buns were very good as well. The fried rice was good but not our favorite thing on the menu.
Keith & Richard here, (ignore the Tristan name. I do that to fool friends)We just got done having dinner. Great to see you again. Our first time at the sit down location. Went right into the Lamb & Chicken Satay. Loved it along the Pork Bao buns.Meegoreng was great. Spicy but not over the top. The Laksa was very good, but missing a little of the creaminess of the broth & the Lemongrass flavor we remember at the Atwater outlet. Otherwise fantastic. Love the vibe of the restaurant. I'd say you guys are well loved by the customers for good reason. We hope to get up there in the summer sometime, but will easily go back to the restaurant. Best wishes for more success!
Great food & vibe. Some of the best Bao buns in Montreal. However, not the best Moscow mule for the price you pay.
I can't say it enough, but Satay is a staple every time I come to town. Alex & his team never miss a beat with their food & truly the best atmosphere. Do not miss the bao buns. & beef rendang.
Favorite Montréal hidden gem. Everything's delicious & shareable which I love. You order & get the food right away. Great spot to go to with friends. Super affordable too!! Papaya salad is BOMB & you have to try the Bao buns
Every person of the group of 23 I was part of fell in love with the place. Ecclectic decorations, outstanding service (considering we were 23 at the table & the restaurant was jammed pack), & the food... my oh my. Everything was delicious. I would definitely recommend! My personal favorite was the braised pork belly bao bun. Still can't get over how perfectly delicious it was :-) Also, they accomodated our big group without any problem, which was very much appreciated.
Apprently groups of more than 4 don't get to choose what they want to order. I'm a big fan of Omakase & seasonal menus but this was literally the regular menu items you just don't get to choose... Food was hit or miss, bao buns & laksa are okay but that's about it. 1 drink we ordered was good the other was bad. Service was not great. After bringing up that one of the drinks tasted off I was argued with about what was wrong with it. I've been here a few years ago & it was good but wouldn't recommend it anymore. Prices are way too high for the quality you're getting.
Run don't walk to this gem. The fun atmosphere, incredibly warm staff, & not to forget the incredible food. You'll regret not eating here whether you're a local or just visiting. I had the chicken satay, laksa, papaya salad, & the pork bun. If I had room I would have eaten them all over again & a few more bites. Thanks for the nice meal Satay Bros!
We had the canvas club's painting event at Satay Brothers. It is a vibrant & colorful place. The decorations mixed of retro & slightly gothic. Busy night, the staff were getting delayed with their services but it was super friendly. We had steamed bun, satay shrimp skewers, fried chicken satay & cocktails. Every single dish was so delicious. The canvas paint event was awesome, thankful to Satay Brothers for hosting it.
Just wow!! The best food & service I had in a while! I found the portions were well balance. Food was well seasoned & we especially enjoyed the steam buns. Ambiance was awesome.
Nice experience to try Singapore food! Like the laksa soup! They also do half portion as well, quite thoughtful:) don't miss out chicken skewers as well as steam bun!
One of the best restaurants in Mtl!! The vibe, music, service, & of course the food were all amazing. Every time I go, this place never disappoints! Would highly recommend going with all your friends, the food is to die for :) We ordered the pork belly steamed buns, Kolo mee noodle soup, fried rice & pork ribs. For the dessert, we had both Kueh Bengka & Salat 😋 I also once tried the set menu & it is so worth it, You get a bit of everything!!
Their fried chicken buns are addictive! Delicious. Bbq ribs were out of this world. The place it self has a very unique character; takes you on a trip to somewhere else. We went on a Saturday night. Its really loud inside with a party vibe. Amazing food & atmosphere.
