Bien manger, c’est aussi manger sainement, à Ryu, les plats sont non seulement délicieux mais aussi nutritifs; réconfortant en bouche autant que pour le corps, c’est ça l’engagement Ryu. Pour nous l’experience « Manger Ryu » c’est aussi se soucier de votre alimentation.
Dans l'ensemble, les avis présentent Ryu comme une adresse de sushi remarquable avec des poissons très frais, des nigiris et sashimis bien exécutés et une ambiance élégante et accueillante, un service attentif et de bons cocktails, même si certaines visites soulignent le prix et des questions sur les portions; l'expérience omakase est louée pour la qualité générale mais entachée par des portions inégales des makis lorsque le groupe partage et par une approche des portions définies à un prix élevé; les plats à emporter et les menus déjeuner reçoivent aussi de bons commentaires pour la valeur et la constance; on note aussi des photos qui ne correspondent pas exactement à l'intérieur, et une déception ponctuelle liée à un service qui a pu rompre l'atmosphère. Dans l'ensemble, beaucoup recommandent de revenir pour la qualité du poisson et l'expérience culinaire soignée.
This is by far the best sushi I've had in Montreal. It reminds me of when I went to Japan. Best place to get fresh quality sushi & top ingredients. The otoro was outstanding & the kampachi nigiri was incredible. The service was good, & very fast. The hamachi baby roll was really good too. I can't wait to go back & try more of their menu. The presentation of the food was very beautiful.
Je suis une habituée des restos sushi, au moins une fois par semaine. J'ai eu une assez bonne expérience au Ryu Westmount mais quel désappointement au Ryu Peel. Il y a tellement de meilleurs restos sushis à Montréal.

Everything was on point: the latest music trend to reflect the downtown vibe, the decor was a mixt of modern & rustic to make it cozy & the sushi was very delicious. Definitely one of the top 3 best sushi place in Montréal. 🙏🏿👑
Très bons nigiris & sashimis, tout était frais & savoureux. Le service était impeccable !
Le seul bémol concerne le menu de groupe : la quantité de makis n'est pas bien répartie, ce qui fait que chacun n'a pas le même nombre de morceaux, un peu étrange pour un partage équitable.
Aussi, j'ai été déçue de voir que le pourboire au terminal est calculé après les taxes, avec des suggestions à partir de 18 %.
Amazing place. Best sushi we have ever had. Was worried it was too fancy, but it was a good Ballance. Yes slightly expensive, but the best nijiri we have ever had.
Place looks really cool too. Amazing decor & design.

We tried the omakase as a group of four & the food was overall very good. Most dishes were well executed.
The only negative was with the maki course. We were served four different types of rolls, but each roll only had six pieces despite all four of us ordering the $150 omakase ($600 only for food + $sake & $desserts). This meant we had to split unevenly & decide who gets which type instead of each person enjoying the full experience.
When we asked, we were told that each roll'comes in six pieces.' At this price point, that explanation doesn't make sense. A tasting menu should be adapted to the number of guests so everyone receives equal portions.
As it stands, the more people you are, the less each person gets, which feels inconsistent for a fixed-price experience.
Great food overall, but this detail took away from what should have been a seamless experience.
I had a lovely dinner tonight at Ryu. From the moment we arrived, the service was excellent & we were greeted so warmly. The staff were incredibly sweet, attentive, & made us feel very welcome throughout the evening.
We really enjoyed our meal, & everything about the experience felt thoughtful & well done. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful & everything tasted very fresh. The atmosphere was perfect, not too crowded, which made it easy to relax & have a great conversation with my friend. It felt like such a cozy & enjoyable dining experience.
Overall, I loved everything about it & will definitely be coming back again!
Came to Ryu on Valentine's day for their fixed menu & had a pleasant experience. Very fresh fish. The sashimi platter, caviar crab roll & toro maki were among my favourites. The wagyu tataki was very tender & flavourful, but not worth the extra $20 in my opinion. The presentation & service is superb.

J'avais une réservation à 20h30. En entrant dans le restaurant, personne ne m'a calculé : aucun bonjour, aucun serveur ne vient me voir. Il a fallu près de 20 minutes pour que quelqu'un remarque enfin ma présence. Bon, je peux encore comprendre, c'est le rush.
Mais une fois installé, c'est devenu n'importe quoi.
Aucun serveur pour me conseiller ou simplement prendre ma commande. J'ai essayé d'en appeler, de croiser des regards, personne ne s'arrête, personne ne vient. Résultat : 30 minutes d'attente sans que personne ne prenne ma commande.
L'accueil est tout simplement catastrophique. On a vraiment l'impression de déranger.
Quand on réserve une table & qu'on vient dîner, la moindre des choses c'est d'être accueilli & servi correctement.

Came back for more…. They gave us a tuna belly w truffles on it, 2 of the greatest blessings of nature coming together…. Nature vs nurture…. Nature ALWAYS wins
Planned to go there for my birthday, they canceled our reservation with no warning because there was an electrical shortage. Nothing was communicated to us, drove 45 minutes for nothing & this was reserved weeks in advance. Had to learn on the spot when we saw that all the lights were off & nobody would answer our calls.
The interior does not match the photos on the website at all. In reality, there is barely any interior - it looks severely worn down.
The food is tasty & fresh, but nothing special, especially considering the above-average prices.
I came here because of the many positive reviews, but unfortunately my experience did not match the expectations they created.

My husband & I went to Ryu around 12:30 PM on a Tuesday, & the restaurant was almost a full house, which is always a good sign. Despite how busy it was, the waitress seated us right away.
We were looking through the menus when my husband asked if there was a lunch special, since we had seen a $39 lunch special sign outside. The waitress then realized that the lunch special menu hadn't been included with our menus & brought it to us right away.
I ordered the lunch special with the assortment makis, & my husband chose the sashimi, nigiri, & maki platter lunch special. Both lunch specials came with miso soup, which was comforting & well done.
We also ordered O-toro (fatty tuna) & itoyori (threadfin bream) sashimi, & these were absolutely exquisite & hands down some of the best quality fish we've had. The freshness, texture, & flavor really stood out & made the meal feel special.
When we asked for the bill, we noticed a small mistake: we were charged for two bottles of San Pellegrino instead of one. One of the waiters fixed it promptly without any issue, which we appreciated.
Overall, the food quality was excellent, service was attentive, & the lunch specials offer great value. A small hiccup aside, it was a very enjoyable experience, & we would definitely come back.

On est venus plusieurs fois & passons de très bons moments à chaque fois. La nourriture est savoureuse & le staff super friendly :) Je recommande également de goûter aux cocktails!!
Nous avons commandé des sushis en livraison. WoW !!! Dans les meilleurs sushis que nous avons mangé en Take-out. J'en commanderai à nouveau c'est certain.
