Came here for takeout. Got the roasted chicken & sausage poutine as well as the Natas (portuguese tarts).
The poutine was delicious - it was packed with juicy roasted chicken & sausage. I typically have a big appetite & eat large portions, but this is next level huge - I had to keep saving leftovers for 3 days to actually finish eating this dish. (You need not worry of going hungry if you order this, I guarantee).
Natas were nice & flaky with a smooth baked custard; it had a good char to the surface which added to the taste. Its worth coming here for the Natas alone, recommended!

Thé chicken is good so is thé service.
Thé fries are of bad quality. Thé manager is very arrogant.

Excellent place for poutine! Ordered the Poutine Romados. Great fries, delicious gravy, cheese curds & the added roasted chicken was SO tasty! The Pastel de nata were also excellent.
Friendly service from the owner George. Highly recommend! 😀

Un grand classique du poulet portugais à Montréal. Il a baissé en qualité & certains préfèrent maintenant la poule mouillée mais il reste quand même une institution à Montréal. C'est un bonne option si vous ne voulez pas attendre trop longtemps pour avoir votre poulet.

I make a point to come here every time im in Montreal. How do you take something as seemingly simple as rotisserie chicken & make it so good?! I really don't know but Romados has nailed it! Oh & those little tiny potato balls? I'll have one million please.

Don't ask me how was their regular food, their chicken? I am vegetarian & I was there to drink my coffee & dessert.
Great coffee & tasteful, mild sweet dessert, which I added to the list of Portugal cafe.

Edit nov 2025: I just placed an order for the bifana plate. I said I wanted the round roasted potatoes like in the picture, not fry strips. If they cared they would have given more rice instead of more fries or replaced the fries with salad if they didn't have the potatoes. I hate when I'm not listened to especially when it costs me money & my health. The bifana is rgood & the portion was big though so it's enough for 2 meals at least. It's not a big deal but still worth mentioning
Such a good chicken & fries source. I don't come here anymore because I'm mostly vegan but must give a proper review to send my appreciation for past good memories

I'm extremely satisfied with my'to-go' order from Romados! The service was incredibly fast, & the staff was so welcoming & friendly from the moment I walked in. I got the chicken breast & leg for my wife, & we also tried their desserts. Everything was super delicious! We'll definitely be back.

So here's my 3rd update of Romados.
Forget the disaster that the 2nd generation owners created to my beloved Romados, the NEW owner fixed what was broken.
The restaurant is clean. The food is as delicious as it originally was. The staff is smiling again & the service is so friendly & professional as it once was. Congratulations & thank you to the new administration. You are making this Montreal gem shine again. Good job George! Obrigado to you & your staff. ROMADOS PARA SEMPRE!

Je ne sais pas ce qui est arrivé à ce restaurant. Il y a plusieurs ans, il était toujours très achalandé : il n'y avait pas de place pour s'asseoir & il fallait attendre de longues minutes pour être servi.
Aujourd'hui, il n'y a plus de file d'attente, les tables sont vides, & la qualité a un peu changé. Au niveau de la quantité, les portions de frites sont moins généreuses qu'avant, & le goût est plus ou moins bon.
Est-ce l'effet des réseaux sociaux ou de la concurrence ? J'espère que ce restaurant retrouvera sa splendeur d'antan

Meilleur poulet portugais! Les portions sont généreuses & délicieuses. Les places pour manger à l'intérieur sont limitées mais disponibles quand même.

First day time since they have opened again. We went early so there was no waiting time. The service was very efficient & fast. The people at the counter were courteous.
The food itself, we had the family chicken with fries & salad. The food was delicious. I wish there was more sauce on the chicken. The sauce that come with the salad is sweet which give me a perfect fusion along with the chicken. Fries were good also. We ended taking their natas, surprisingly, each one was huge & delicious. I recommend.
