Review Summary

L'Avenue comes up in reviews as a bold, crowd pleasing brunch spot with huge portions and a playful, vibrant vibe that blends retro disco decor with colorful graffiti. The menu is praised for creative sweet and savory pairings, with standout items like shakshuka, eggs Benedict, and the Dubai chocolate French toast or pistachio French toast, plus the Indecisive options that let diners mix and match. Expect long lines and waits, especially on weekends, and seating that can feel cramped, but many say the experience is worth it for the generous portions and lively atmosphere. Value is a common thread, with portions described as enormous and prices considered fair for the quality, though a few reviews call it pricey for what it is. Service is typically described as friendly and attentive, contributing to a positive overall experience, while the noise level and crowds can be a drawback for those seeking a quieter meal. The bathrooms are frequently noted as an experience in themselves, adding to the overall memorable vibe. Parking can be challenging and the venue can feel busy, but visitors often return for recurring favorites and the sense that nothing on the menu is bland.

Bobby Does Dallas 4/5 Casserole with beef, potatoes, & onions underneath. Pairs well with homemade chili sauce. Steak + Eggs 5/5 My favorite, absolutely delicious. ❤️ Smoked Salmon Avocado 4/5 Refreshing taste. Strawberry Nutella Pancakes 5/5 Freshly baked pancakes, so gooooood! Perfect with Nutella & strawberries! Also pairs well with their own maple syrup. Rejuvenate 4/5 Mango & pineapple smoothie, too large to finish lol. Rose Paloma 4.5/5 Alcoholic, pretty good. Oreo Cookies Milkshake 2/5 Too sweet!! Can only taste the sweetness, can't taste the Oreo flavor anymore. The best brunch I've ever had, every dish was great!

Our first time visiting Montreal, my family happened to pass by. It was a wonderful brunch. We especially loved the potatoes, eggs, & the wonderful varieties of flavors present in the French toast. Service was prompt & friendly. Would love to stop by again & try out more of the menu.

This is my second time coming here & I don't even know where to begin! From the service to the decor they have here is great! The food is even better than what you can expect. My wife got some latte art to begin with & she ordered the classic eggs Benedict & I ordered the indecisive carrot pancakes that were incredibly delicious! The servers made us feel right at home & greet you coming & leaving the restaurant. There is a line up in front but I can honestly say it's worth the wait. Definitely can't wait to come back & eat here again.

We had the pleasure of having lunch & it was a 10/10 experience - The food is amazing!!!!!they have a small menu but the they really do the food absolutely well. The salmon egg benny was the bomb! The oreo shake was simply amazing - The staff is very friendly & very attentive. We were served by Yasmin & she is just lovely, professional & knowledgeable. We would love to meet her when we come back again - The atmosphere is nice but it can be crowded inside because the space is small. Nevertheless it's a nice experience

As far as I am concerned this was the best brunch & breakfast in North America. Periodt. I had the "I'll have it All" a few times & it's my favorite. Everything was wonderful, eggs, pancake, french toast & the bacon is cooked perfectly. The coffee was wonderful I had the "bowl" of latte. ONLY NEGATIVE - its not located in New York or closer to me

Omg... where do we start Delicous food great vibe, a little tight, long line during lunch but worth the wait. If coming early or late no line but right at lunch it will be a line down the street. It moves fast but come patient 😅 No reservations first come first serve. Me; tiramisu indecisive: my favorite thing were the potatoes, wow! I got guac in place of pork on plate, & I was full off the main items. The French toast was killer & melted in our mouths, only ate half of it & one small slice of multigrain bread. I got a pistachio latte... 🤤 I mean whatttttt yeah the food coma was real! My hubby got eggs Benedict steak & eggs; loved all the food but vibe was his favorite! The atmosphere was his thing 🥳 Needless to say this is a MUST when in Montreal 🫡 MY respects L'Avenue

We went here today for brunch at around 10-11am & it was quite an experience. The initial wait was tough probably 25-30 minutes on a cold, windy, Saturday in Montreal but once we got in we were welcomed with warmth from the staff. The food was amazing & the portions were quite nice for the price. We had the Indecisive with strawberry & pistachio flavored french toast & we also ordered the duck with black truffle eggs benedict. It was all flavorful & I was pleasantly surprised with the experience. Everything was great but the thing I loved the most was the potatoes because they were cooked & seasoned with proper attention that you don't usually have with most breakfast/brunch restaurants.

Its one of the must-go places for brunch in the city. An extensive menu with perfectly served dishes in a friendly environment. Serving organic eggs & balanced food, it has become a favorite for many (its a little crowded on weekends) The service is also spectacular, special thanks for Audrey & Andy

This was on the tail end of a 6-day trip in April 23, we made from Alberta. Taking in Montreal & Quebec city. It was raining for the last day but still warmer than our Hometown. We start the day off here with some big breakfast for the walk ahead. The duck confit Eggs Benedict plus others excellent & a bottle of champagne!. We walked in the rain & took in things. Had a great time lots of great street art. The kid got a haircut. An we have some cool Old cd's now

BEST EGGS BENEDICT OF MY LIFE. You HAVE to try the SweetSavory + Crunchy, you won't regret it.

I took the salmon eggs benedict dish & I didn't like the vinegar onions way too drenched it killed the fine taste of the sauce.... For 26$ plus a 1 hour wait in the cold weather.... Not worth it!

I ordered the SweetSavory+Crunchy with a perfectly poached egg. Large portions. Excellent flavour combination.

We started with dirty forks & now, in hindsight, we think maybe it was an omen. The host & our server were really nice & we weren't too bothered by the loud music, but my companion's potatoes were cold & my unimpressive duck & truffles Benedict had eggshells in it. The taste of the dish was okay, but not great or was it innovative in any way. It felt a bit bland, like home cooking. I'd have more to say about my friend's eggs & pancakes but she's been throwing up all afternoon since she got home. I felt a bit nauseated but didn't get that sick. The food is overpriced, bland, & the portions are just too large. I wouldn't go back nor could I recommend it. Shame, because it's fun, service super & bathrooms - wow!

Nice place, we went early during the week & there was no line up which is not the case on weekends. So if you want to experience the food here, come early during the week to avoid the long wait! The service was excellent & the portions are generous as we did not finish our plates. Surprisingly the taste was still very good even if we reheated the food the next day... especially the poached egg, the yolk was still runny! Worth the detour, a lot of choices on the menu. Not sure why there is such a big line up which is why it took us a long time before we could finally taste the food...? It is not cheap however the quality price ratio is very good, & you can request to take out your left over.

Delicious brunch spot. Wish they were closer to home so we could go every week. The shakshuka was delicious, eggs Benedict was amazing, the sauce was delectable. All in all, amazing.

First time going to L'Avenue restaurant on Mont-Royal Street for breakfast, but not the last time. Like Andy, the waiter said to us it's the OG of the restaurant. It's a small, cozy restaurant with beautiful artwork on the walls. The bathroom surprised me with it decorations (I won't spoil the surprise. It's pretty nice!) I had the classic eggs Benedict, & it was the best I've had in all the breakfast places I've been. It has a little spicy kick to it, & it made it perfect. The pistachio latte was delicious!! & what can I say about Andy? He was so nice, funny, & very helpful. I will be back!!

My boyfriend & I saw this restaurant featured on "You Gotta Eat Here" & had to try it. We were not disappointed! Absolutely incredible & lives up to all the hype. He ordered the "Bobby Visite L'Espagne" & I had the eggs benedict "Sucre-Sale-Croustillant". My boyfriends meal was 3 eggs served on top of potatoes with chorizo sausage, spinach, & mushrooms. My meal...wow. Seriously wow. It was the epitome of gluttony. Two thick cut slices of french toast coated in panko bread crumbs before frying, served soaked in maple syrup with two eggs, gruyere cheese & hollandaise sauce. I was starving but definitely could not finish this meal. But each bite was total heaven.

I can't wait to go back. They have an extensive menu with lots of unique & delicious choices. This is my new favourite breakfast spot!
