Review Summary

Bold flavors, huge portions, and a playful, vibrant vibe define L'Avenue, which offers a creative brunch menu with standout dishes like pistachio French toast, shakshuka, and eggs Benedict, accompanied by generous sides and strong coffee; the atmosphere is colorful and energetic, with disco style decor and lively music that many find fun, though a few reviews note it can be loud and crowded on weekends; service is described as friendly, attentive, and efficient once seated, with many mentioning helpful staff and quick refills, while a few experiences point to long lines and wait times before seating; some guests wish for more vegan or gluten free options and there are occasional notes of price or consistency concerns; overall it remains a top Montreal brunch spot for those seeking a filling, flavorful meal and a memorable vibe.

The french toast is absolutely the best french toast I've ever had anywhere on this planet, & thats not even an exaggeration. After an hour wait on the sidewalk in line, we finally made it inside a pretty cramped space to what was definitely worth the wait & loss of personal space. I got the pistachio french toast, & my friends got the steak & eggs/bacon & eggs meals. Everyone raved about their meal for the next couple of days, & left feeling full & satisfied.

Would def come back again when in the Montreal area again.

Service , outstanding. Food, outstanding. Great place with a great vibe too. I had a mix of french toast & breakfast eggs , toast ,sausage, beans & potatos it was a lot but it was great. The highlight was the french toast which was excellent. I polished this off with a strawberry matcha ice tea which was refreshing. I'd definately recommend this place.

Small eatery with a great vibe. We had a reservation so seating was quick, otherwise there is a huge line up to this place. The shakshuka with toasted multigrain bread was very filling & the portions are generous. I requested for the dish without eggs. The other dish was tuna, eggs scrambled on a toast. Tonno Italiano
Italian tuna in olive oil complimented with Sicilian flavors, served on a salad drizzled with a marinated onion. My friend complimented the dish a lot about its flavors that it was very unique. The serving was quite generous. Michael helped us with recommendations for coffee. We got hazelnut latte & pistachio latte. The hazelnut was a good recommendation.overall good value for money. Road side parking is a pain but we were lucky to get a free parking as it was a Sunday.

Gym dude omelette was interesting tasted good, for those who want that protein it's a great choice. The Dubai chocolate French toast was great enjoyed eating that as well. Nice sit down spot & artistic drawings

Back at L'Avenue on Mont-Royal after a couple of years, & it reminded me why it's one of our favorite breakfast spots. The service was excellent, our server was super attentive & patient. The menu has changed a bit, & surprisingly, there was no lineup to get s table.

The food is still very on point. I ordered The Indecisive with the pistachio French toast, & wow - that pistachio French toast was next level, seriously so good. 😋 The pistachio latte was also very delicious & paired perfectly with the meal.

I find it unfortunate that they no longer have vegan options. I remember they used to have a few delicious vegan plates but that is no longer the case.

Prices are on the higher side, but honestly that seems to be the norm for breakfast spots these days. Still, the quality & experience made it worth it. Definitely happy we came back.

Got brunch here for the first time last Friday with some friends. We got there sometime around 11:30am & had to wait ~10 minutes for a table. After being sat, we had some time to look at the menu. After figuring out what I wanted, I took the time to really look at the interior-it's so beautiful! There's a funky, retro, disco vibe to the place that makes it fun & inviting!

I ordered the Bobby Tries Istanbul, while my friends ordered the shakshuka & french toast. All the food was absolutely delicious & very filling! We even had a bit left over that we snacked on later.

The service was also great! Our servers were super kind & even packed up our to-go boxes for us! Would definitely recommend & I'll be coming back here the next time I'm in the city!

Came in Winter, & yes it well worth waiting for 40 minutes in -14°F temps!!

Had the'I'll Have it All'.
French Toast was probably the best I've ever had! Also the baked beans were amazing!

Service was super friendly & attentive.

Only complaint I would have is the cold brew was a bit watery/ weak

Angel, our server, was amazing! The service & the food were both incredible. I highly recommend trying the Benedict & the meat toast & the pistachio latte was on another level of good!

I'll 100% come back if I visit Montreal again.

We had a 7-day vacation starting from Montreal, then Quebec City, & finally Ottawa, & tried at least 14 different restaurants & L'Avenue was THE BEST!

Just a heads-up: it's totally normal to wait in line here, especially in a city like Montreal where people love eating out. Definitely worth the wait!

For the tiramisu French toast & Red Shashuka. Both were excellent! The staff were really sweet. The bathroom is an experience (in a good way).

My boyfriend & I came here for lunch. We got there early to line up before the lunch rush, they don't take reservations. We waited 25 minutes.

We sat on the outside patio. It was hot, but we were in the shade which was nice.

We started off with an iced matcha & a cold brew. I've had better matcha elsewhere, so definitely try something else off the drink menu. The cold brew was good.

I got the classic eggs benedict. The portion looked small, but it was actually very filling. The ham did get a little salty towards the end, but still really good. The poached eggs & potatoes were amazing. The true star of the meal was the hollandaise sauce, it was super.

My boyfriend got the'have it all' breakfast. It came with eggs, sausage, ham, bacon, potatoes, beans, french toast, & a pancake. Everything was great, & it was nice to be able to try a wide variety of foods in one plate.

Staff was super friendly, & service was great. We would definitely come back.

L'Avenue is the first place we took my niece in Montreal. We wanted her to experience L' Avenue, from the good food & the great staff, the artand generally good vibes. I ordered the californian omelette. It was huge & light & fluffy at the same time. My husband & my niece both got the Tiramisu french toast. They both liked it.It did however reminded me of Eataly's Tiramisu pancakes which I loved. Needless to say, my niece loved her exprience at L' Avenue. for parking are few & far bet
Parking - it was only metered street parking, we came early so we found parking pretty easily but when we were leaving we could see that spaces were few. & far between.
Prices - Although I love this place, I do think it's a bit pricey for what it is.With that said, I consider this a tourist stop for Montreal.

Since there are no reservations, we waited for about 45 minutes for a table but it was SO WORTH IT. The French toast is divine & the portions were more than enough!! The whole place is a vibe. A must go-to!!

Amazing brunch spot! The Dubai Chocolate French Toasts, filled with pistachio butter & crunchy kataifi, were out of this world - I absolutely loved every bite!

Great brunch if a little on the pricey side. I hade the'indecisive' with sticky toffee pudding pancakes & they were incredible. I'm a huge fan of their indecisive options, because they combine traditional breakfast (eggs, sausage, bread) with a sweet option. Great sweat & savoury brunch! Others ordered the tiramisu French toast & eggs Benedict which were solid.

The ambiance is a little odd & a little intense for brunch but nothing that impacts the meals. The bathrooms are weird with lots of flashing disco lights. I thought they were fun but I can see people finding them stressful.

The food did not meet the hype. Our French toast had a soapy taste, the pancake was too dry, the potatoes very greasy. The best part of our brunch was the orange juice, tbh. Service was great & the atmosphere was nice once the restaurant quieted down a bit.

Hearty & heavy is a big word here. Come hungry. Pretty delicious. Had the indecisive with poached eggs, pistachio french toast with vegan patte. Pretty excellent.

For the most part the food was good. This was my second time here, I was just a bit disappointed in the french toast as it tasted quite dry.
