At Bruce, we serve comforting, hearty dishes like haggis, Cullen skink, smoked haddock, black pudding, and a few boozy desserts. Chef Scott Love leads the kitchen, bringing a background shaped in Scotland.
The drinks list is well thought out - Wine, Scotch, classic cocktails, and organic beer from Terre à Boire in Saint-Blaise.
The space is warm and familiar - dark wood, stained glass lights, and old family photos on the walls.
Drop in for a drink, something sweet, or a solid meal.
Reviews highlight a warm, cozy Scottish vibe and a menu that leans into traditional fare with a modern touch. Dishes such as haggis, Cullen Skink, blood pudding and lamb shank receive frequent praise for flavor and thoughtful balance. The atmosphere is described as intimate and inviting, with a sense of a neighborhood staple that makes guests feel welcome from the moment they arrive. The service is consistently attentive, friendly, and professional, with staff guiding diners through the menu and keeping the dining experience smooth. The drinks program is a plus, featuring interesting cocktails and a strong selection of scotch, beer, and house stout to pair with the dishes. A few reviewers mention high prices or occasional busy noise, but many consider the quality, ambiance, and hospitality to justify the cost, making this a standout destination worth returning to.
Wow I was blown away by this restaurant. What a refreshing menu. The leeks with kale pesto were so delicate, the mushrooms had a delicious sauce & the lamb shank felt like a cozy Christmas dish. The only thing that could be improved is the noise. Maybe the music could be a little lower so people didn't have to talk so loud. I can't wait to go back & try the other dishes!
What a lovely experience. We were served by JP & welcomed with open arms by Camille & Will. The vibe was very cozy & the food was incredible….the lamb shank & Sunday roast has unbelievable flavours. My mom & cousin were visiting & both have Scottish origins it was the perfect the spot. I will most definitely be back & have been telling everyone about it.
It was my first time at Bruce Taverne Écossaise & I genuinely loved the experience. The atmosphere is warm & cozy, you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in.
The service was amazing, very attentive without being too much, which makes a big difference.
& the haggis (my first time trying it!) was honestly delicious, so rich & comforting.
I'll definitely be coming back 😊

Went many times to eat & have a drink, a very lovely place. Every staff member was super nice & glad to answer any questions, the food is always excellent, i still crave their haggis.
Une très belle experience de restauration. Service impeccable.

My first Scottish restaurant in Griffintown & a really awesome venue 😇😇 We loved the ambient atmosphere & the staff was super nice, kind, & helpful 🙏🙏 From the maître d' to the server & the bartender it was fantastic service the entire time! We had the Chardonnay & then moved into the appetizers - sourdough, goat butter, & croquettes & it was beyond tasty ❤?❤? For the main dish I had the lamb shank with risotto & my husband had the Fish of the Day & each bite was super delicious ❤?❤? Our full compliments to the chefs for making such a gourmet's delight made with so much attention & care 🙏🙏 Finally for dessert I had the chocolate mousse & my husband had the ginger loaf & it was heaven on earth ❤?❤? Cannot wait to come back to this 11/10 Scottish restaurant & try other amazing items on its menu with the best staff & service 😇😇
I can't believe this is a new restaurant, because it doesn't feel like it in any way.
It instantly feels cozy, rustic & timeless. You get the Scottish tavern feel with incredibly elevated dishes, full of flavour & heartiness. The charred oyster mushrooms are out of this world, the sourdough bread with goat butter is unreal. It's comfort food that will satisfy even the most discerning foodies of Montreal.
The service was incredible. The attention to detail, from cleaning up between every course, to refolding the napkin when you go to the bathroom, to taking your coats as soon as you enter & giving the right ones back without asking. Flawless.
You can tell there's serious high-end hospitality experience behind this place. It feels polished but never pretentious, refined yet full of soul. What a unique blend!
I've never been to Scotland, although it's on my list, but this place made me feel like I experienced a little piece of it right in the heart of Saint-Henri. It already feels like a neighbourhood staple, & it's definitely going on my list of places I'll bring friends visiting from out of town. Outstanding.
A wonderful small restaurant that truly shines in all the right ways. The cuisine is thoughtfully prepared, rich in flavor, & clearly made with care & quality ingredients.
The staff are exceptionally warm, attentive, & make you feel genuinely welcome from the moment you arrive.
The place is cozy & inviting, creating a relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to linger. A lovely dining experience that feels both personal & memorable.
