One of the best pizza's that I've ever eaten. I like it better then renowned places in New York. I had the pepperoni
Genuinely impressed by this new sourdough pizza spot that opened up. With pizza toni just a few doors down, both spots have consistent customers & equal competition. This one may be my new favourite in Montreal though. The crust was DELICIOUS. You can really taste the sourdough & the flavour in the bread. No need for dip. I love a saucy pizza & that was exactly what this was. Super saucy, good amount of dough while still being crunchy & chewy. My favourite was the Rossa. The anchovies really picked up the flavour of the rose sauce. After one slice, I wanted another one right away. Still craving it to this day…
Pizza was okay, we found the crust extremely salty!
However the best one i tried was the pear pizza.
Also its a sauna in there, so if weather permits you're better off eating outside!
Was good but not worth the hype..
I said many months ago there is room for a second pizza parlour on Saint Viateur & I was not referring to the previous S&S establishment. Finally Crosta's is giving PT down the street the needed competition for choice & share of the wealth.
I walked in for the first time last Friday, great vibe atmosphere & motivated smiling staff.
I ordered 2 pepperoni slices. Waited 10 mins & noticed on the slices they grated on the I believe was Parmesan cheese. I thought wow nice touch Then the taste test
I bit into it & I can tell you I sprung for lots of bottled water
It was way too salty for my taste & me health Maybe because I'm a senior maybe the teenagers can handle it but it was too much. Born & raised in this area for over 65 years & frequenting all establishments seeing them come & go, I wonder if they will maintain the foot traffic customers, besides Uber Eats. My local buddies inform PT upped their quality.
Huh ? Good luck to Crosta's they deserve a slice of the action.
Super service, la pizza est juste excellente. J'ai été surpris à l'ouverture de la boîte qu'il y avait déjà de l'huile piquante & du parmesan en surprise sur ma pizza. Ça m'a fait sourire immédiatement. Je recommande
Ordered a large pepperoni (only one size is offered for delivery) & the home made ranch. 1st time trying Crosta.
The best parts: the CRUST. Just the right thinness, it's airy, & has the perfect cook. The pepperoni was nicely cupped & there was a generous amount. Good amount of sauce, not to much, not too little & just the right amount of cheese.
What could be improved: It was so incredibly salty, even for a pepperoni pizza which is expected. I could barely enjoy 1 slice. I'm not sure but I think the type of cheese used in this particular pizza is contributing to the extra saltiness. There wasn't enough hot honey.
The ranch: (creme aux fines herbes). Tastes like horseradish to me (although I don't know if there's any in the ranch). I would've preferred to have the choice of choosing a plain ranch.
Overall, I wouldn't order the pepperoni again because of the salt. But I would definitely try different types of slices on site next time.
This place is definitely worth a try for the amazing crust alone.
Side note: I asked for half pepperoni, half cheese in the order notes, & paid for the more expensive pizza, but they don't seem to take special orders or don't seem to check the notes because the entire thing was pepperoni.
I'll start by saying that I'm a professional hater & I was genuinely ready to be underwhelmed by this place because of how viral it has gone on social media & people lining up like they've never seen food before for the gram.
This was the best dough I've had on a NY style pizza here in Montreal & possibly ever. Great structure to the undercarriage, thin, crispy, great crust with great flavor, no flop etc. That being said flavor-wise for the slice as a whole I was not blown away. I only tried the Rossa, Potato & Spinach slices so keep that in mind I have not tried the cheese slice or the Nduja pie. The Rossa was my least favorite the anchovy paste just didn't work for any of us it was way too funky & sour. The potato & spinach slices were very good & I'd get them again but they didn't punch me in the face like I wouldn't necessarily crave them.
Welldun is still my favorite pizza in town & they got upper hand when it comes to the flavors on their margherita & vodka pizzas BUT Crosta definitely has a better crust & dough & that dough alone is 5 stars worthy. I'll come back at some point to try the cheese slice & nduja pie & update this review then. I drove from outside Montreal to come try this & it was worth the drive.
