We are a café, caterer, and pastry shop. We offer pastries in the morning, quiches, sandwiches, and pastries inspired by Japanese cuisine, all made on-site.
Reviews describe Patisserie Bervig as a standout bakery in Old Montreal with outstanding pastries and welcoming service. The croissants, especially pistachio and almond varieties, are repeatedly praised for crisp exteriors and tender interiors, while canelé and Parisian flan receive high praise. Desserts like creme brulee hojicha, a matcha tart, and a kumo nuage are highlighted for balanced flavors and striking presentation. The café also earns compliments for strong coffee and the option to pair desserts with comforting soups and savory bites. The staff and owner are described as warm, friendly, and clearly passionate, blending French technique with Japanese influences. The space feels cozy and unpretentious, often called a hidden gem that visitors return to during their Montreal stays. While a few reviews note busy times or minor quirks, the overall sentiment is one of high quality, reliable treats, and a memorable experience at Patisserie Bervig.
The most delicious cafe in Montreal!!
The quiche is my favourite. The staffs are very friendly & welcoming. The hot chocolate is very rich & you can never taste anything like it anywhere else in Montreal.
We went on a Thursday (today). The owner gave us an amazing story about the hard work that he & his team put on the pastries. We had the croissant with Brie & blueberries, pistachio chocolate croissant, pesto cheese & tomato croissant. The Brie croissant & pesto cheese croissant was amazing. They heated it & that made it even better. I would highly recommend this place. The atmosphere was good. The owner was super friendly. We Had a few laughs while ordering.

WOW! The croissonts (plain, almond, chocolate, almond & chocolate), danishes, & apple turnovers were all fantastic! The cappuccino was great, too. We tried his pastries our first morning in Montreal & then had them nearly every morning thereafter for a week! Careful attention to detail in making amazing
pastries & great service, as well.
Absolutely loved my visit here! The pastries are beautiful & taste just as good as they look. Personally, my favorites are the pear tart & chocolate mousse rose. Next time I'm back in the area I will definitely be coming again.
Great little patisserie cafe! Delicious pastry & amazing service. Family Friendly: Yes! Parking: limited street Pet friendly: N/A Rose aux chocolats, coeur à la mure: 5 Stars - Absolutely amazing! Maybe because I had low expectations lol I was really worried there was going to be some floral taste even though they told me it was hazelnut & chocolate... its because of the shape LOL Tarte mont-blanc (châtaignes): 5 Stars - My all time favorite pastry is a Mont Blanc. I keep telling myself i'm going to try to make it at home but than i look at the list of ingredients & super happy i found this place so i could stuff my face :) Chocolate Blanc - passion fruit & pistachio: 3 Stars - I really wanted to like this but i guess i dont understand the craze for passion fruit LOL it was very tasty but compared to the other two this was on the bottom of the list.

Nice little shop for pastries & cakes! I got the cannele & pain au chocolate. Very good cannele! The sandwiches are nice & there are interesting cakes with interesting flavours like hojicha & matcha. The staffs are friendly & hardworking.
Everything is great here, best croissant sandwich I had in my life. We also had the chocolate blanc & rose dessert. The quality is perfect. I can't wait to come back again.
We stopped in Montreal for a quick bite as we drove to Toronto. We ended up at this delightful shop & bought two sandwiches & a couple of pastries. The beef banquet was fabulous. The Ham had great flavors & yummy roasted vegetables. We ate cream puff with light pastry & delicious custard. The chocolate & almond croissant is for dessert later. Enjoyed a picnic across from Notre Dame with lovely music & people.
The houjicha crème brûlée is an incredible experience. A very mellow, lightly sweet chocolate flavor with all the dark, roasty goodness of houjicha bolstering it from beneath. A richness for your taste buds to explore & savor with every bite. & Phillipe torches it at the counter when you order, which feels pretty next level
