Review Summary

Onigiri Shop is widely praised for fresh, generously filled onigiri and strong value, with many noting the salmon and tuna options as standout and the rice perfectly prepared. The menu appeals for its variety and convenience, including a mini ramen and easy takeout, making it a good quick snack or meal. While most reviews are positive, some experiences point to inconsistency in quality across visits or locations, with occasional rice that is cold or bland and slower service for takeout. A few customers mention friendly staff and a cozy vibe, though a couple describe less favorable encounters. Overall, the reviews present Onigiri Shop as a solid, affordable option for flavorful onigiri and casual Japanese fare, best enjoyed by trying several varieties to find personal favorites.

Cheap, cheerful & delicious. Perfect little snack to bring with you to the park down the street :)

Malheureusement celui au saumon n'etait plus disponible. Super bon snack de route. Je recommande.

A bit over rated in my opinion. Went there last night & they did not have raw salmon. All the salmon options were unavailable which was very disappointing to me & all the group we went with.
The staff was a bit confused & not helpful at all but that's okay. We ordered the spicy tuna wakame onigiris & they were decent. Not too special. But not bad at all.
The rice to protein ratio was embarrassing but that's what you expect from cheap eats in Montreal. Each one was 6$ which is very cheap but I would say you need 2 or 3 if you wanna make it a meal instead of a snack.

Everyone here is absolutely lovely! The guy with the beard is always funny & a delight to chat with. I've come here many times just for a quick lil snack after work & always leave feeling satiated. Today, I wore my work jacket, & they hooked me up with free onigiri & said they support us workers (I'm not a cop, obviously). Anywaysssss, I highly suggest this place because they're fast, the food is delicious & inexpensive, the place is clean, & they're always welcoming. I'm sooooo glad we have you in the'hen' :)
