Busy Chinese noodle shop with a cozy interior dishing up housemade hand stretched noodles in a variety of broths, Lan Zhou style. Directly across from McGill university. Delivery by Uber.
Nouilles Zhonghua is described as a busy, authentic noodle spot popular with students, locals, and visitors, where hand pulled noodles and a range of broths are prepared in front of diners; the small, lively space often means sharing a table and quick service, with strong praise for flavorful beef noodle soup and other dishes such as Chinese hamburgers and crispy buns, including oil spill noodles and Lanzhou style noodles, all offered in generous portions at reasonable prices; the concise menu allows choices in noodle width and broth, and service is consistently fast, making it a reliable option on a cold day or for a quick takeaway, though some reviews note crowding, limited seating, and occasional saltiness or uneven noodle texture in certain batches.
Even if eating inside is fine, do NOT order takeout from this place.
The store was very small & completely packed with people, so I decided to order takeout instead.
Less than a minute after I received my food & walked out, everything started leaking inside the bag. The paper bag completely tore apart & all the food spilled onto the ground. As a result, my shoes, clothes, & bag are all stained. I couldn't even eat the food.
When I checked, the container with the soup had not been properly sealed. I did not carry it carelessly - I held it upright & handled it carefully, yet this happened in under a minute.
I strongly hope you improve your packaging method. Very disappointed.
delicious hand-pulled noodle restaurant! It seems like it's always very busy so expect to wait & share a table. I got a small beef soup, which was the perfect portion for a late lunch, but I'd probably recommend the medium! As a visitor to Montreal, this was a perfect first meal on a chilly day.

If you're looking for hand pulled noodles in a tasty broth this is the place. The portions are very generous (try the'large' soup, it's basically a baby bath size bowl). Expect lineups at lunch as there's only seating for 25 people & be prepared to share a table with other patrons. Hands down this place is superior to Nouilles de Lanzhou. Still the best hand pulled noodles in the city!

Update: went back & tried their standard beef noodle soup. The noodles were soft & pasty due to not being worked enough. This is a common'shortcut' restaurants take to save on Labor costs & get prep done faster. I ended up throwing out most of the noodles in my takeout order, which means I didn't eat much.
Unfortunately it is also a serious fault. In China the noodles are chewy because they are expected to be so. Soft noodles in this style are unacceptable.
The broth was also very, very bland. I've had way more flavorful vegetarian broths.
I might get the other items, but I'd be hesitant to try wheat noodles here again given the low quality & poor texture.
Former 5 star review from last week: Pretty good. Liang pi not the most flavorful, but styles vary & this is solid.
I declined the pork burger but either they misunderstood or didn't care because I got in anyway. I ended up not minding because it didn't taste much like pork & it was delicious. 😋
Had the medium beef noodle soup with a Chinese hamburger. Delicious. The meat was tender, the broth was tasty. Added some additional spice & a bit of soy sauce. Good prices. Better than the popular place in Chinatown.
Delicious, authentic & comforting noodle soup. It is the best joint in Montreal, more than in Chinatown. Perfect for a rainy or snowy day! Their Chinese hamburger is absolutely incredible.

The service was good. The cold noodles were amazing. I will definitely be going back to try the ones with soup as well. Their drink was good as well. The only downside it's small & busy, so it's very tight.
Portion ultra généreuse de nouilles fraiches chinoises. Bon rapport qualité prix. La soupe est réconfortante par temps froid. À noter qu'on y mange rapidement & que la salle n'est pas très confortable.
I've spent the past five years searching for a taste like this, & I've finally found it! This Chinese soup is nothing short of extraordinary. From the first sip, the depth of flavors was exactly what I've experienced before in China. The hand-made noodles, crafted with care, elevate the entire experience, adding the perfect texture to the rich, savory broth. Every spoonful took me back to the warm, nostalgic memories I have of China. It's a rare gem that not only satisfies the palate but also rekindles the essence of home. Simply incredible! 谢谢你😊

We discovered this place by accident while in Montreal. If you love noodles / noodle soup, this place is must to try. They make noodles right here in front of you & it tastes amazing. Ordered a combo soup & potato salad. The salad is nothing that I was expecting & incredibly good. A note - make sure you bring cash or have a debit card. They don't accept credit cards.
Ordered the beef tendon noodle soup & vegetables noodle soup. Food was delicious, large portions, seating inside is small but they do quick takeout as well
Loved the liangpi, beef shank, tofu salad. The service was friendly & attentive. The zha jiang mian was just ok. Would go back to try their noodle soups because the soup that came with the zha jiang mian was super tasty. Nice rich beefy flavours. Cash or debit only. Space is quite small. They had about 5 sets of tables to seat 4 people each.
