Review Summary

Diners describe Nama Omakase as a standout fusion of Japanese and French influences, with exceptionally fresh fish, inventive yet harmonious flavor pairings, and an intimate, elegantly modern atmosphere. The omakase experiences are widely praised for thoughtful curation and beautiful presentation, though several reviews note that portions can feel small for the price and a few courses or moments can vary. Service is repeatedly highlighted as attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, with many accounts of staff guiding the meal and sharing details about ingredients and techniques, while a minority report slower pacing or inconsistent timing. The overall experience is seen as high end and ideal for special occasions, with many mentioning memorable touches, personalized attention, and standout desserts, cocktails or sake pairings. Ambiance and decor are often described as chic yet cozy, complementing the culinary journey, even as some listeners feel the music volume or the high price point keep it from being universally accessible.

By far the best quality of fish in Montreal.

This place is exceptionnal from the atmosphere, food & perfectly taylored service. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you can feel that the atmosphere is really cozy. For the food, the sashimi & nigiri (with fish outsourced from japan) are a must. There was no choice of fish that seemed out of place & they all work in harmony with the freshness that is just on par! For the entree, the brussel sprouts & eggplant katsu are unique & provide a complex but yet easy to appreciate taste. To add to the french gastronomy part, we had the duck & apricot & it was amazing. The meat was cooked to perfection & ressemble to the taste of a well prepared steak. For the service, our waiter was always with us to make sure that it all went well & gave great recommendations as well! This place is a must in the restaurant scenery of montreal for everything that is mentionned aboved & if you seek a new type of experience where a japanese omakase is paired with french gastronomy, this IS the place.

Wow, what an unforgettable culinary experience! I had the pleasure of dining at Nama Omakase last night, & it truly exceeded my expectations. The moment I walked in, I was struck by the elegant ambiance & impeccable service. We had the pleasure to be sat at the bar & be served by the Chef Ga Cong for the tasting menu. But the real magic happened when the food arrived. Each dish was a masterful fusion of Japanese & French flavors, with bold & unexpected combinations that somehow worked perfectly together. The aged fishes were out of this world. Chef Ga Cong's attention to detail & presentation was stunning, with each plate looking like a work of art. Overall, Nama Omakase is a must-visit for any food lover looking to try something new & exciting. This isn't your traditional Japanese Omakase. The chefs creativity & skill are truly remarkable, & the service is top-notch.
