What a gem! We went for a early Sunday dinner & had a lovely time.
The food was lovely. I have to say, the veggies were cooked perfectly 👌 they were hot & soft, with a bit of firmness still to them. So many places overcook veggies & the come so soft if not mushy.... but not here. The brightness they add to the plates was refreshing to see. The steaks my table had were cooked to a perfect temp. One had a medium & I had the mid-rare & you can see the difference. Both spot on.
The chicken dishes my other companions had were just as nice, & moist.
The service was attentive & very friendly. Dennis'the Menace' (our server) made us feel welcomed & feel like he knew us. He made a playful joke & the end that referenced a joke we made with him while serving. It showed he took an interest in us while we were there.
Look I could go on & explain that I was worried when I saw the menu had so many choices, & that I thought that they would not be able to keep it all fresh.... but saw no sign that ciuld be the case. Dont tell but even was checking out the other tables food.... their burger looked so appealing & I had just finished eatting.
I saw about a dozen beer on tap, & enough glassware hanging that I would bet that on a Friday or Sat it wiuld have a nice atmosphere.
If you are in the area this is a great place to go. Right off the highway & has such a charm to it.
I dont give 5 stars often but if I had to pick a complaint.... it would be that they brought the sauces for the main during the appetizer service. So I am not taking a star off for that.
I've been going to mon village for 40 years plus & the way the staff gaslite me today was unnecessary ..
to the girl behind the bar & the waitress that made me feel even worse today with the attitude you threw & the sharp sarcastic
I called & asked for a steak sandwich & a Caesar salad. Came to pick up my food got in the car noticed that there was no fries in my steak sandwich went back to ask why there was no fries. I wasn't angry or loud
She said that I didn't order the fries again. I suggested that there was a misunderstanding & she looked at me & she said yes, so sarcastically said yes I made a mistake. It was a back-&-forth & then I had another waitress come out & kind of say very loudly here you go! it's on the house!. Here's some fries on the house!. I never asked for anything to be on the house. I asked for a steak sandwich with an appetizer of a Caesar salad salad, & I got gaslit. Disgusting attitude from staff

Wow, belle découverte... Retourner dans le passé pour vivre une belle & bonne expérience. Menu des années 60-70-80. Je crois que le prix du steak (faux filet 16 oz) vs la qualité est le meilleur de la région de Montréal. Seul bémol... Le frites sont so-so. Il est préférable de prendre la pomme de terre au four ou le riz. Le pain à l'ail gratinée est un incontournable !
Le service est bon & l'ambiance est chaleureuse! Ça fait plusieurs fois que j'y vais & c'est toujours une belle expérience. Le pain à l'ail gratiné est immense & savoureux. Le gâteau alaska vaut le déplacement. J'adore leur Nacho, burger & fish & chips. J'ai essayé le steak 1 fois & je ne recommanderais pas si vous voulez une cuisson saignante.
The ambiance is warm & cozy. The fireplace emits warmth, brighten up the cold winter night. The batter on the fish is rather crispy & not that greasy. Steaks range from 40+.
Kept our coats on while dining. Food came randomly, steak was mediocre , nachos for one patron was so late (due to being burnt) that most individuals at the table had finished their meals already.

I have eaten here several times but last week was not one of those times. The steak was a big chunk of beef served lukewarm with lots of fat & not easy to cut & non cooked veggies. It will be a while before I return.
Restaurant dans une vielle maison avec ambiance style pub anglais. Le menu est très bien garni pour plaire à toit le monde, en passant de plusieurs coupes de steaks aux pâtes, fruits de mer & le fameux fish & ship. On a adoré!
Excellent comme toujours, je recommande vivement le steak au poivre ainsi que le pain à l'ail. Le gâteau au fromage est excellent. Il y a un bon service.

Love Mon Village! The service is always top notch, the food is tasty, & the atmosphere is cozy. We recommend their fish & chips, hamburger steak, Reuben sandwich, & prime rib. Their fries are also my favourite!
I have been to this restaurant for years. My boyfriend & I make a point to go once every month because we love it so much. We have had many things on the menu, from the huntclub steak, the Mon village steak, the prime rib, filet melt, penne marscapone with chicken, cheesecake, etc. Everything has always been delicious & served to our liking. The waiters & waitresses are incredibly friendly & pleasant. We had Mike as our waiter yesterday & he was particularly great! We had a reservation at 7:30pm but had a small emergency & had to return home. We called & let them know that we wouldn't make it before 7:50pm (last call for ordering food as kitchen closed at 8pm). They were very understanding & Mike, our waiter, said he would tell the kitchen they would be getting an order a little later than usual today & that it was no problem. We were so thankful! We always recommend this restaurant to friends & family, & everyone who tries it loves it. Highly recommended!
Pour la St-Valentin, j'ai été souper avec ma conjointe, super service de Jessica, super ambiance, super repas. Une place que je conseil à tous, une cuisson de votre steak à la perfection, cuisson au charbon, plusieurs section séparer qui vous procure un sentiment d'intimité, les prix sont plus que raisonnable. Vraiment une expérience 5 étoiles, je vais y retourner à plusieurs reprise
A local institution with great ambience. The food is solid & the service is very good. We tried the Beef Dip & the Steak Sandwich & both were very good. Conveniently located near the highway for a non-fast food option between Ottawa & Montreal. Reservations are recommended for the weekend.
