Review Summary

Mon Nan is widely regarded as a staple in Montreal, praised for its generous portions, authentic flavors, and consistent quality of classic Chinese dishes like salt and pepper shrimp, General Tao chicken, and Peking duck. Many visitors appreciate the welcoming, family style atmosphere that is perfect for large groups, noting that the restaurant remains a favorite for its tasty, comfort food. While the dining experience is frequently highlighted as excellent, some guests have noted inconsistencies in service, occasional issues with billing practices, and concerns regarding the pricing or the pace at which food is served. Despite these mixed reviews, many loyal patrons view it as an essential Chinatown destination and continue to return for the reliable and delicious menu.

Food is still okay & i'm used to service not being top notch in these types of restaurants. Been coming here since i'm youn i am now 38 ans never have you guys treated me like shit. This was the case yesterday. On my mothers birthday that little waitres lady with short hair disrespected me & my family. Prices are up & portions down. Food still okay but being treated like that by a waiter has never happened to me. Step your game up monan cause you lost a lifetime client today.

Prices have gone through the roof !!!! For regular cantonese cuisine . Taste is basic .waiters pressure you to order & for those reasons ,we will not return

In my book, you can't go wrong with this restaurant. Especially when you had a long day & just want something quick yet comforting, or maybe even for a family/friend gathering, it just hits the spot everytime for me🤷🏻?♀?

Great chinese restaurant in the heart of Montreal's chinatown. There are lots of tables & it's air conditioned. We had crispy beef, eggplant & a fried rice. They were all delicious but also very oily!

The general tao chicken was only batter & no chicken. Really disappointed. Told the waitress…then the manager said he'll check for the next batch. Made us pay full price. Horrible. This was my fav place…too bad.
