Best meal we had in Montreal. Authentic
Chinese food reminded me of growing up in Southern California in the 90s. The lovely waitress told me the chef has been working there for 35years & originally from Hong Kong. Go now! We need to keep these old school places alive

Service was very friendly & accommodating to guests (unfortunately not always common in Asian restaurants)- I was pleasantly surprised! The staff know their customer demographic is primarily tourists/locals who want an'approachable' Chinese restaurant experience. We are from Vancouver, where Chinese food reigns supreme & we enjoyed the food- we ordered crispy chow mein, beef fried rice, soup dumplings, siu mai & har gow. It was all delicious! It is not the kind of restaurant you enter & see 90% of Asian diners but it is significantly better than most'westernized' Chinese restaurants. Would definitely go back again!

Our server was amazing. Food was delish!

We went there closer to midnight & there were only 2 servers working. Let me tell you they were like Flash 🤣 So quick on taking orders, so quick on clearing out tables. They had about 10 tables & still accommodating more people coming in for a late night bite.

The lady server was funny & nice despite all the pressure she has at that moment. 9/10

We ordered fried rice & salt & pepper pork chops & it was so good!

Will come back here next time we visit Montreal

This experience was so abysmal that I feel obligated to warn others. The service was frankly terrible from start to finish. I can appreciate a restaurant wanting to support friends or family by giving them jobs, but that should not come at the expense of basic customer service. Our server spoke neither French nor English, & more importantly, she appeared genuinely unhappy & completely unmotivated to be there. It would be much better to have staff who actually want to provide a good experience.
?A perfect example of the neglect was that no one ever came back to our table to ask if we were enjoying our food.
?Most alarmingly, I discovered a piece of very hard, sharp plastic in one of my dishes. This was a serious safety hazard & I could have been severely injured. When I showed it to the manager, he offered a meager 7% discount as an apology. Frankly, that felt incredibly insulting given the seriousness of finding a foreign object in my food. That ridiculous offer is precisely why I am writing this review now-it's not my job to teach the management about basic restaurant best practices.
?As for the food itself, it was very ordinary. It wasn't'bad,' but it was certainly not authentic, nor was there anything that made us think,'Wow, that was delicious.'
?So, when you combine bad service with ordinary food & a genuine danger of being injured by foreign objects in your meal, my answer is a definitive'No.' Zero stars. Don't waste your time or your safety here.
?A quick note to the restaurant: Please do not reply asking me to call or contact you privately. You had your opportunity to find an appropriate solution in person, & you failed.

Dropped in for a quick lunch, off a side street in China town, a no frills kinda place but good value for your money & quick efficient service. Will return
