Located in Montreal's Chinatown, Mon Nan Village a discrete restaurant that's easy to miss unless you know where to look. The restaurant offers some of the best pan-fried dumplings, Peking duck and General Tao chicken in town. The dumplings are just a small part of an extensive Dim Sum selection that can be ordered from the daytime menu. Mon-Nan's menu also includes a selection of seafood specials and interesting variations on soft-shell crab. Restaurant Mon Nan also serves Moo Shoo pork, Hot Pots and varied chicken dishes.

This is probably one of the worst Chinese food experiences I've ever had. The service is lousy & the food isn't much better. The server was super pushy & wanted us to order everything at once - but they bring the food out one or two things at a time over the course of 45 minutes - for a table of 6 people. The server never checks in to see how things are going & has to be flagged down. Some main courses came out prior to all of the appetizers coming out. The rice dishes were cold long before my beef with Chinese broccoli was finally cancelled because it never came. The servers are constantly trying to take dishes away too before you're even done with them. I would absolutely not recommend anyone ever dine here. The tablecloths have tears & holes in them. They take unused plates & bowls from the table that guests have touched & just place them back in the stack of clean dishes in the middle of the restaurant. It was not even a little busy in the restaurant for the holiday. They had plenty of staff. Such a disappointing NYE experience at 5:15pm. The only good thing was that they seated us before our 6pm reservation.

One of my go-to places for sure! I love everything they have on their menu & I always ask the person taking our order what they recommend. One of the best places so far. Even when you order food to go it's good, but not as good as it is in the restaurant.
Service is really good & orders come out fast :)
Make sure you order the shrimp on toast (precise that it's the one flat open on top of the toast). & always listen to their recommendations!!

I love monan im addicted to their salt & pepper shrimp its one of my go to's I always come back for it. Their tom yum soup is amazing & so is their ginger lobster. I just tried their fried dumplings & also enjoyed them. Shout out to the owner Joe, such a cool guy! I recommend!

By far the best Chinese restaurant of Montreal! The food is tasty & well proportioned. The chow mein is heaven as well as the fried salt & pepper shrimp. The general Tao is sweet but not very crunchy. This time we ordered but from recent past experiences the place is clean & the staff is efficient & quick to serve your meal. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good spot for Chinese cuisine.

Beau restaurant à la salle bien éclairée, vaste & qui respire. La nourriture est délicieuse, fraîche & les portions sont généreuses. Le choix des plats au menu est vaste, permettant de satisfaire tout le monde. Le service est rapide & le personnel est courtois. Le rapport qualité-prix est excellent! Hautement recommandé!

We go every year on the first. It's always good. The food is generous & tasty. The softshell crab is a must have! The service is also good. Big recommend for me especially if you go with a couple of people to share dishes.

Wow what a gem this place is. First off, the server Betty was so welcoming & funny. Then the canto food was amazing. Not enough people know about this place. Food was soooo fast, but so fresh too. We ate family style which is the best to eat at a restaurant. We ordered hot & sour soup, Mongolian beef, sweet & sour pork, shrimp fried rice, soup dumplings & black bean beef. Very reasonably priced! Shared between 6 people & worked out to be 22.50$ a person including tip! All were delicious. The fried rice had a beautiful smokiness from the wok. But the star of the show was the Mongolian beef. Perfectly crispy with the perfect about of sauce. Highly recommend & we will definitely be back when we visit Montreal again.

I highly recommend Restaurant Mon Nan to anyone who enjoys delicious Asian food at a reasonable price! They did not hesitate to accommodate a last-minute reservation request for our group of 19, & made sure we were all well taken care of. The restaurant's dining area features larger round tables with a central lazy-Susan to facilitate conversation & meal-sharing. Betty was our server, & she handled our large, diverse group with grace & professionalism. If you are ever in the area, please check this place out - you will not be disappointed!

The place was nice & lit up & the service was okay, but we came towards the time it was closing so the waiters were probably tired & ready to go home. The food was really good & we were very satisfied. Though one thing that was a bit off was that when I ordered the wonton soup, the soup was good but the wonton tasted like soggy dough, but I totally recommend the shrimp dumplings! Overall everything was excellent & I would 100% recommend the place! ^^
