The service is lousy & the food isn't much better. The server was super pushy & wanted us to order everything at once - but they bring the food out one or two things at a time over the course of 45 minutes - for a table of 6 people. The server never checks in to see how things are going & has to be flagged down. Some main courses came out prior to all of the appetizers coming out. The rice dishes were cold long before my beef with Chinese broccoli was finally cancelled because it never came. The servers are constantly trying to take dishes away too before you're even done with them. I would absolutely not recommend anyone ever dine here. The tablecloths have tears & holes in them. They take unused plates & bowls from the table that guests have touched & just place them back in the stack of clean dishes in the middle of the restaurant. It was not even a little busy in the restaurant for the holiday. They had plenty of staff. Such a disappointing NYE experience at 5:15pm. The only good thing was that they seated us before our 6pm reservation.
Great chinese restaurant in the heart of Montreal's chinatown. There are lots of tables & it's air conditioned. We had crispy beef, eggplant & a fried rice. They were all delicious but also very oily!
I ordered the general tao & crispy sesame beef - I don't think there was much meat in either of these dishes. It was tasty but it was all breading; not exactly sure what I was eating.
Wow what a gem this place is. First off, the server Betty was so welcoming & funny. Then the canto food was amazing. Not enough people know about this place. Food was soooo fast, but so fresh too. We ate family style which is the best to eat at a restaurant. We ordered hot & sour soup, Mongolian beef, sweet & sour pork, shrimp fried rice, soup dumplings & black bean beef. Very reasonably priced! Shared between 6 people & worked out to be 22.50$ a person including tip! All were delicious. The fried rice had a beautiful smokiness from the wok. But the star of the show was the Mongolian beef. Perfectly crispy with the perfect about of sauce. Highly recommend & we will definitely be back when we visit Montreal again.
It's okay. It took 30 minutes for my main to arrive. Portions are huge. Plenty of protein & vegetables. The fries stiff noodles & sauce & shumai were tasty. The brisket was slightly funny tasting, & gave my jaws a workout. Toughest beef brisket I've ever eaten.
My new go-to place for Chinese. Fortunate that I can get it on Uber Eats whenever we need. Shrimp toast, shrimp peanut dumplings, Cantonese chow mein, spare ribs, general tao chicken, pineapple chicken, Mongolian beef, vegetable fried rice, egg rolls, salt & pepper shrimp - all classics. A1+++
Simply a crowd pleaser & always hit the spot. Been going to Mon Nan for years to get my fix for Chinese food & it never disappoints. The place is clean & the food is great. The sweet & sour chicken is good, the salt & pepper shrimp is my utmost favorite & their lo mein is spot on. I also recommend the orange beef & the sesame beef, they are slightly on the sweeter side, but a must try nevertheless. Also the corn & chicken soup is a like a warm hug on a cold day.
I am so picky when it comes to anything consider as asian food.
Everytime I come here I enjoy my self & the food.
I've had salt & pepper chicken that was perfectly fried, the chicken chow mein is my favourite i've also had the ginger lobster, beef broccoli, chicken fried rice, egg rolls everything was good so far !!
It's not a very nice place but it's a place with good food. Bathroom's are a disaster waiter's are mostly friendly . If you go on a weekend night place will most likely be packed especially after club hours !!
Prices are fair as well !
