I really like the service & there was never an empty glass of water or from my parents why our server was super nice & helped us pick a drink for every single course & describe it so well in English I actually got you in American even though she was French. It was a really nice restaurant & they had at least one dish for every kind of person & that's why I really loved this restaurant. Also, the chocolate ice cream sandwich was so good
I chose Mon Lapin for my birthday dinner, & it did not disappoint. The entire experience was outstanding - service, food, & ambiance. ROSE specifically deserves a special shout out. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the foods & wines, full of fun energy, gracious, & hospitable to the point of wishing me a happy birthday numerous times. Such a vibey individual, & an excellent mixologist. Everyone I interacted with made me feel welcome to the point I stayed for three hours to immerse myself in the experience. The food is fresh, organic, & satisfying without making one feel stuffed. Definitely farm / coast to table. The razor clams with spicy breadcrumbs, barbecue cucumbers with raw baby shrimp, pasta tossed with shredded cod & zucchini, & the halibut with nettle pesto were all fantastic. The ice cream sandwich was the perfect dessert portion. The wines are natural & delicious. The gin cocktail - fantastic. Even the owner is present & engaged - conversing with patrons behind the bar, throughout the floor, checking in with her servers - the staff is 10/10! Warm, inviting, thoughtful, & they seem to truly enjoy working together. Mon Lapin certainly lives up to its hype, & I highly recommend it!
I just finished the most wonderful dinner at Mon Lapin. I was lucky enough to snag a seat at the bar as a walk in, really happy they were able to accommodate me without a reservation. The bartender, Rose, walked me through the menu & various options they had, I ended up going with their tasting menu. Rose also made great cocktails, had phenomenal wine recommendations, & was so much fun to talk to. She was a big part of why this dinner was so enjoyable.
Each course was brought out & explained by staff & the pacing between courses was just right. My meal included:
- Confit leeks with potato chips & smoked mussel mayo
- Razor clam with spicy breadcrumbs & littleneck clam with green onions, horseradish, & parm
- The iconic crispy scallop sandwich with ramp mayo
- Sea bass crudo with capers, radish, shallot, microgreens, & brown butter
- Ricotta dumplings/ravioli with motels & radish greens in a creamy butter sauce
- Halibut in nettle cream sauce with nettle chips
- Duck two ways with white & green asparagus, strawberry sauce, an herby asparagus sauce, & jus
- An ice cream sandwich with almond & sesame cookies, olive oil ice cream, & fennel pollen
- A fudgey chocolate cake with amaro & coffee sauce
The tasting menu ended up being 9 courses for $110 CAD, a very good price in my opinion, especially considering the quality, time, & care put into each dish. There was not a single dish I disliked or thought was just okay, each one was unique & so good. Service was excellent & the cocktails & wine were delicious. I have nothing but good things to say, I've never been more pleased with a place that I went to on a whim.
This was the highlight of my trip hands down. If I ever make it back to Montreal, this will be my first stop.
One of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. Every single dish that we ordered was excellent. The scallop sandwich was life changing. The wine selection was comprehensive, unique & well priced. The service was truly superb, friendly, knowledgeable & attentive. Certainly a highlight in Montreal.

We visited Vin Mon Lapin on April 7 as a party of 4.
Atmosphere:
Lovely restaurant with charming decor. Warm & relaxed atmosphere. Wish the candles were real, not battery powered!
Service:
Overall, excellent. Our main server & sommelier was wonderful - passionate, friendly, & had wonderful suggestions for wine for the table. The other servers (I believe we had 5 total?) were friendly as well, except for one - he seemed rather unhappy to be there!
Food was thoughtfully brought to the table & explained, they seemed to have had the food before & genuinely enjoyed explaining every dish to us. Plates & cutlery were changed with each course. The service added positively to our overall experience.
Some minor notes (as this is the #2 restaurant in Canada!):
- we noticed staff taking out the garbage in view of diners
- pacing of the dessert course was lost in translation. We ordered a savoury with our desserts & were told it would come first - instead, it came with all our dessert at once
Food:
The food was excellent. We ambitiously ordered every dish on the menu, & 3 of the desserts. We also shared two bottles of wine at the recommendation of the sommelier.
The dishes were very thoughtfully coursed & well paced, we ended up having approximately 4 savoury courses. All dishes were solid, some were exceptional. The crab salad & bone marrow, linzer, mushroom, duck agnolotti, sea bass, ice cream sandwich surprise, chocolate tourte & sarrasin cake were all wonderful, the entire table raved about them all. We appreciated the use of local ingredients, as well as the beautiful presentation of each dish.
Other dishes were well prepared but not to our taste. The leeks felt like a bit of a miss, but overall nothing truly failed.
Our two wines, one white & one orange, paired beautifully.
Overall:
This restaurant is worth a stop. The reservations are hard to get, for good reason. It's a wonderful dining experience showcasing local ingredients to their fullest. Service is excellent. We all thought that in a few more years, with ironing out of some service kinks & balancing out of some flavours, Vin Mon Lapin could be worthy of a Michelin star.
Mon Lapin, awarded 2nd best in North America for good reason. Immaculate & warm service. From taking your coat, to explaining the menu, Mon Lapin treats you like a friend. Cozy & modern vibes inside bring good energy.
Food was excellent with creative presentation & flavors. If you're in Montreal, stop by & try the scallop sandwich & chicken! Leek & profiterole was good too.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine warmth. Even though the restaurant was absolutely packed, the service never missed a beat. Every person on the team seemed fully in sync, effortlessly anticipating what guests needed before they even asked. It's rare to see that level of teamwork executed so smoothly.
We ordered:
• Le croque-pétoncle (scallop sandwiches)
• Brochette de langue de boeuf (beef tongue)
• Boeuf de pâturage (raw grass-fed beef)
✨Oursin QC (sea urchin): It was silky, & has that nutty toasted richness from the brown butter.
✨✨Parfait de foie (liver parfait): It was smooth, & velvety without being heavy. It's the kind of dish that lingers in your memory long after the meal ends. I still occasionally talk about it.
Every dish was thoughtful & balanced, not a single bite needed extra seasoning. The flavors had depth, & precision. & though the scallop sandwiches & dessert didn't quite hit the same high notes for me, but everything else more than made up for it.
Amazing food & amazing service! I can't wait to be back again & just for that parfait de foie alone.
This is one of the best restaurants I've been to. I was able to walk in solo mid week, & everyone was so friendly & helpful (shoutout Guillaume for your recommendations & hospitality). The wine & food were both delicious - I ordered the razor clams, uni, scallop sandwich, tomatoes in broth, & cod. The flavors & dishes were so thoughtful, balanced, & unique. I can't wait to come back & try more.
