Vin Mon Lapin was meant to be the star meal of our Montreal visit, but unfortunately it fell well short of our expectations.

Our party of four arrived on time but was seated about 20 minutes late without any real acknowledgment of the delay. We had to stand awkwardly in the doorway because there was nowhere to wait. Once seated, it took another 15 minutes for our drink order to be taken & roughly 15 more to order our food. Our first dish didn't arrive until more than an hour after we arrived.

We chose the tasting menu, & the opening bites surprisingly lacked flavor. Half of our party enjoyed the scallop sandwich, though it was divisive. For the mains, the eggplant was tasty & the duck dishes were fine, but none of it was especially memorable. The buckwheat pancake, though, was a highlight & worth the hype. Overall, the progression of the meal felt slow & repetitive, especially with duck appearing in two of the three main dishes.

Unfortunately, the meal as a whole was disappointing due to the slow service, awkward pacing, & largely forgettable food, especially given the restaurant's reputation & how much we had been looking forward to it.

A lot of publicity, well worked reviews made us look forward very much to today's dinner & we had high expectations. In short - they were not met. The food was not bad, but it completely lacked the creativity & excellence that we anticipated. The flavours were bland at times, for sure nothing extraordinary; then again one dish was completely oversalted (& this is coming from someone who likes his salt). This wasn't a bad dinner, but sadly it was a very expensive dinner for what it turned out to be. For us, Mon Lapin is way overrated. It is a well-oiled & excellently promoted machine. Would not go again.

Great service & a pleasant atmosphere, but the food was disappointing compared with the hype. The ingredients were clearly high quality, yet many dishes lacked depth, intensity, & a real sense of balance between the components. Everything sounded more exciting in the descriptions than it tasted on the plate.

We spent around CAD 400 for two, & at that price point we expected much more. For us, the food simply wasn't memorable enough to justify the cost. Montréal has many stronger & more creative restaurants at a similar price level.

One of the best meals I've ever had in my life. We had the tasting menu & each course was exquisite. The scallop croque & tomato dish were the standouts for me & were brilliant. I'll be craving the food here long after I've left. The service was impeccable, everyone there was genuine & warm, making us feel incredibly welcome. They were wonderful to have a conversation with & gave amazing recommendations. Absolutely some of the nicest people in the industry. I can't recommend Vin Mon Lapin enough, a truly magical experience!

We visited Mon Lapin & all did the tasting menu. Obviously you go in with high expectations but I have to say that most of the dishes were not that great. The scallop toast was the highlight, but everything else was just meh. Having done many tasting menus across Montreal we were very disappointed. The service was excellent & the wine was great. Perhaps it would've been a different experience if we had chosen our own things off the menu. Im happy we tried it, but we won't be returning soon.

Phenomenal meal. The scallop toast is one of the best things I've ever eaten. Tasting menu is great & the staff was accommodating for my younger kid. Wine pairing was magical & had a bold choice of some sake thrown in.

They made it special for my wife's birthday, cake was delicious & made for a core memory for my family.

Fantastic & imaginative local seasonal food - absolutely delicious. Very happy to have left food & wine choices in the hands of our server who judged our likes & capacity to perfection. Great service, neither rushed nor delayed, & all with a smile. Great value for this level of excellence.

Scallop toast will live rent free in my head for the rest of my life.

Thoughtful service & accommodating kitchen allowed a group with varied restrictions to dine without worry.
