The culinary approach highlights natural flavors through refined, modern interpretations of regional bistro traditions. Produce is sourced directly from independent growers, ensuring that every plate reflects the current harvest with absolute clarity. The interior design favors an understated aesthetic that prioritizes social interaction and unadorned architectural honesty. Patrons encounter a distinct commitment to ingredient transparency and sustainable sourcing practices within a communal, lively atmosphere. This establishment consistently delivers a focused culinary experience that prioritizes the integrity of raw components over complex, multi-layered preparation techniques.

Mon Lapin offers a vibrant and festive atmosphere that many diners find to be a highlight of their Montreal experience. The restaurant is widely celebrated for its creative, seasonally inspired menu, with many guests praising the unique flavors of signature dishes like the scallop sandwich and a variety of expertly prepared seafood. The service is frequently highlighted as a standout feature, with knowledgeable and attentive staff who often provide exceptional wine pairings from an extensive list. We were disappointed in our second visit to Mon Lapin. Like others have mentioned below, we were eager & excited to try new dishes from a kitchen that has been ranked one of the best in North America. We ordered our favourite scallop sandwiches, but the quality has clearly gone down. It was no longer light, fluffy, flavourful, or served hot. The'tartare de boeuf' with bitter greens was too salty & served on its own (no bread or crackers). Although the service was friendly, they certainly put'pressure' on guests to order, finish, & move on from their meals. For example, we were so shocked when we were served our dinner wine (full glasses not just a tasting) while still finishing our clearly half full cocktails! It is very sad, but we likely will not be returning.

Amazing, creative menu, well executed. Some truly unique dishes. Friendly but not overbearing staff. Bright, fun space & nice ambience.

Very overrated, the scallop cake was especially bad, it had a weird texture, we couldn't finish it, the rest of the dishes were very average nothing special. The service is impeccable tho, & the desserts were really good.
Wouldn't go again.

I was there last year, forgot to leave a review. I still remember my feelings at that time.

That carrot dish was so interesting taste.
The Uni one was not that great.
The main dishes were ok.

Service is what would make me return. Quite an experience! Excellent explanations & guidance from all servers regarding food & drinks. We enjoyed our meal, however some dishes seemed a bit too salty for our palate. Other than that, I would visit again on future trips to Montreal. We had 5 dishes plus a dessert. This is a good number of dishes for 2 guests dining.

I was really looking forward to eating here & both me & my mom were very impressed. All the staff were very attentive, kind & the food was the most unique food Ive ever had. I really enjoyed their famous scallop sandwich & surprisingly the fish pasta they had that day. The leeks & chips was also so tasty. I would not get the pate again as it was a little overpriced for what you got & I feel it was not worth it. Otherwise the meal ended with the buckwheat cake which was also very very good. I would come back here again to try some other dishes as well!

We went in with high expectations, especially after an amazing meal at Manu Cornuto the night before, but left disappointed. Service was genuinely great, warm, attentive, & welcoming the whole night. The food, though, just didn't work for us. We chose the tasting menu. The scallop cake was a real standout & the buckwheat cake was okay, but most of the other plates felt like the kitchen was chasing novelty over flavor?? pairings that seemed clever on paper but didn't actually come together on the plate. A few dishes were just too salty, others combined ingredients that felt more experimental than delicious. We also got seated really close to other tables, which made the room feel so cramped .. Given its No. 2 ranking on Canada's 100 Best list, we expected the food to feel more thoughtfully composed, not just inventive for the sake of it. Great hospitality, but the cooking itself didn't land for us.

I cannot say enough about this place. We sat at the counter & had the best service we've had in a long time. Rose was exceeding helpful & very generous with her time & recommendations. She carefully selected the best items for our meal & we really enjoyed my husband's birthday celebration.

I'm sure the rest of the menu is phenomenal but the dishes loved the best were the crudo & the lobster. & I'm not even a big dessert person OR a coffee drinker but the chocolate tart with whipped coffee butter on top was outstanding.

We will definitely be back.

Since dining here once in 2022, the ambiance, feel, & quality of the dishes are still exceptional but even more memorable!

Past desserts, including the classic Gateau Sarassin, were enjoyable & have always been part of the menu - while seasonal dishes like the half lobster dish with buckwheat sauce, accompanied by rhubarbs, & perfect rectangular chunks of fried potato intricately layered together into a whole were new, refreshing, & made the experience special!

The white-painted timber roofs, walls, decor &, playful illustrations & installations highlighting the infamous rabbit the restaurant has named itself, all helped to create a whimsical, magical, & warm ambiance that makes me want to dine here .

Grateful to have enjoyed a meal on the first Friday of June, & look forward to seeing how this restaurant continues to grow & become even more exceptional!

From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. We were greeted warmly, offered drinks & were able to watch the kitchen in action while we waited for our table.

Our server, Rose was exceptional. She was knowledgeable made great recommendations & went above & beyond to coordinate with the kitchen to have a number of the dishes modified so I could try them as a vegetarian.

The attention to detail really set this place apart - plates & glasses were always cleared, drinks were never left empty & the pacing between courses was spot on. Overall a polished, thoughtful & FUN experience & will definitely return next time we're in town!
