I went to Marcus at the Four Seasons Montréal for Christmas dinner with my mom, & overall it was a wonderful experience. The food & drinks were absolutely amazing. Everything looked incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, & thoughtfully executed. I'm usually not a mushroom person at all, but the truffle pasta was genuinely otherworldly. One of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave.
The ambiance felt festive yet elegant, & it made for a really special Christmas night with my mom.
The only downside was at the very start. Despite having a reservation, we were asked to wait over 30 minutes for our table, while it seemed that someone familiar with the staff, possibly a hotel regular or friend, was seated ahead of us. I understand that this kind of thing can happen in hospitality, especially in high-end hotels, but it did take away a bit from the Christmas spirit & excitement we walked in with.
That said, once seated, everything else truly delivered. I wouldn't let one moment of awkward customer service overshadow how excellent the food, drinks, & overall experience were. If the opportunity comes, I would definitely give it a second chance & go again, & I would still highly recommend Marcus as a standout spot in Montréal. 🫶🏻
I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday with friends. After hearing a lot of positive feedback & knowing it is located in the Four Seasons, I genuinely expected an excellent experience, one of the best in the city. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst experience I've ever had.
From the booking process to the moment we left, everything was poorly handled. I called four times to follow up on my request to order a birthday cake, which I had submitted four days in advance. I had to chase them constantly, yet I could never reach the manager, & no one else was authorized to take the order. They only got back to me the night before my reservation, which was far too late. I ended up bringing my own cake, which we weren't allowed to eat it due to their policy (fair enough- we took it back with us)
I clearly booked a dinner table, yet upon arrival we were assigned a coffee table at the bar area. We had to clarify again with the hostess to be moved to the restaurant (thankfully they had a table available). Our assigned waiter was unprofessional, inattentive, & difficult to deal with. He was constantly walking away while speaking to us, never stopping to properly listen or confirm our orders. His attitude & lack of efficiency forced us to ask other waiters for help just to get proper service.
After dinner, we moved to the bar area to enjoy the music. While the décor & vibe were nice, the entire space smelled strongly of sewage. The odor was so bad that everyone in the bar gathered their belongings & left at around 1am.
I will never return to this place, even if I were paid to do so. Do not waste your money. Avoid it at all costs

If I could leave a 6th star for the entire team at Marcus I would. We hosted our annual holiday party at Marcus & reserve the entire restaurant. I was blown away by the incredible service from the staff & the attention to detail. A huge thank you to Melissa Nudo, Gabriel, Alexandra, Emma & the rest of the staff who made the night a huge success! The food was delicious & everyone enjoyed. Thank you once again for everything.
Une mention spéciale pour notre somellier Adrien, il nous a offert un excellent service lors de la soirée du 31 décembre. Notre serveuse était plutôt ordinaire, mais Adrien a magnifiquement compensé & rendu notre soirée incroyable. Une très belle rencontre !
A solid selection of mocktails, though I wish the service was quicker & more attentive. The atmosphere could get loud as the night goes so may not be an ideal place for conversation.
Excellente expérience au restaurant Marcus. La cuisine est raffinée, savoureuse & parfaitement exécutée. Le service est professionnel, attentionné & chaleureux, sans être envahissant. L'ambiance est chic & agréable, idéale autant pour un souper d'affaires que pour une soirée spéciale. Une adresse que je recommande sans hésitation.
