While visiting Montreal on vacation, Lov was referred to us by many locals for my birthday dinner .We made a reservation & as soon as we walked in,we knew that it was the right choice. It was bright with beautiful Decor. We were seated immediately even though we were early for our reservation. Both the food & drinks were absolutely amazing. We decided to share plates so we could try more of the menu. I highly recommend doing this! We started off with drinks, a matcha sour martini & a pink everything which we both enjoyed. First we split the soup of the day which was lentil. It was the perfect start. The 2 appetizers we chose were the snails & the calamari which were nothing like we had ever had. FYi,the leftover butter from the snails makes a great dipping sauce for the calamari . For the main course we got the Mushroom risotto & the Lasagna which were delicious .They both exactly what I remembered them as since going vegan ,only better. Lastly,we had to try all 3 desserts which were keylime cheesecake, creme brule & a brownie with Macha ice cream & Berry Couli. both of us agreed that our favorite was the creme brule. The best part of our dinner by far was our waiter Felix. He gave great recommendations & was very attentive. He allowed us plenty of time to try everything that we ordered & never felt rushed but was always there when we needed him with a smile.Hopefully when you visit you will have him taking care of you . He made my whole birthday dinner a night I will never forget. Thanks Felix! Wish we could've made it back on thursday for the chicken & waffles!
A great, unique vegetarian/vegan restaurant with a diverse menu to appeal to plenty of tastes. The mushroom risotto is amazing & there are great, hearty salad options. We also really enjoyed our mocktails. The service was relatively quick & very friendly. Prices are reasonable for the quantity & quality of dishes.
I've been to LOV twice, & it has always looked amazing. The atmosphere with the warm lights & the natural decor fits the vibe of the restaurant well. The food is presented on beautiful ceramics & is absolutely delicious. This time, I tried the truffle risotto & the fish tacos. The risotto was creamy & warm, with flavors that fill you up. The fish tacos were fresh & flavorful, especially with the sweet potato fries. The service was good, but I didn't interact with my server too much. I definitely just went to eat & enjoy the atmosphere. Overall, it was a great place, & I'd love to visit again.
Great vibes, great drinks & dessert, horribly salted & peppered mains. Came with two others before the eclipse so we expected an unusually long wait & weren't bothered by it. Waitstaff was overwhelmed & forgetful, but apologetic & extremely friendly. The cocktails were AMAZING & the appetizers were great, but we were all disappointed with the entrees. I had the mushroom risotto that was both so salty & so peppery that you couldn't taste any of the mushrooms. My partner had a pasta dish that was likewise too salty to enjoy. Our friend had the quinoa bowl which was OK at best; the desserts were much better across the board. I'd give this place another chance, even for how pricey it was.
Incredible atmosphere & absolutely awesome service! Really had a fun time. The "salmon" tartare is a must have, as well as the truffle burger. Unfortunately, the risotto fell a bit flat since it was a bit too salty...but overall a very good experience!
We ate here last night. We had the mushroom risotto & the Mujadara bowl as our main entrees. As appetizers, we had fries & the simulated plant based snails. We finished with the crème brûlée & the chocolate brownie. The food was good, the service was mindful & the atmosphere was great. I am rating them a four, not a five, because they have a very limited menu. It is always nice to have more options.
The food was great, we came for dinner in the evening, we made a reservation. This was our first time trying orange wine & it didn't disappoint, it was flavourful & not too dry. For starters we had the dumplings, they were nice & cooked to have a good crunch when biting into them & the kimchi fries, the sesame dressing was amazing, we had to ask for more dressing as there wasn't enough on the fries. For mains we had the creamy gnocchi pesto & the mushroom risotto, both tasted amazing. Both were flavourful & it doesn't make you miss meat at all. Overall a good experience & would recommend others to try the restaurant.
Great restaurant, excellent menus, vegan. I would've liked to see more zest in food, risotto mushroom & coconut curry & of course their dumplings. The only thing needs improvement is making the entrance accessible.
