Very few gems like this in the area. We went for dinner & then brunch the next day. Menu is amazing, drinks card perfect, service on point & the ambiance is so cozy. Very attentive to food sensitivities. We need more plant based awareness. We need more delicious LOV!
Waffles were really hard. My main was ok, but I wouldn't rush back. Servers were very nice but drinks too forever to arrive, & it wasn't busy.
We went for Valentines Day yesterday, food was good, unfortunately the service was terrible. They didnt have enough tables despite everyone coming with a reservation. We saw a couple calling the paramedics as it seems allergy instructions werent followed. They told us one of the main courses was no longer available to then bring me that dish semi-warm. We ordered drinks that never came. Overall not the best Valentines experience.
Amazing fine dining vegetarian/vegan cuisine with delicious drinks & a cozy but upscale ambience.
Went to Lov for dinner on a Sunday night with our traveling party of three couples, which included a vegan a vegetarian. Great experience. The space, in an old city Montreal building, is great. Food, drinks & wine were first rate. Staff was welcoming, knowledgeable & attentive. Dinner was relaxed & perfectly paced. Just a great experience.
It is NOT easy to find good vegan meals on the road & this place has saved me while in Montreal. I've eaten there 2 nights in a row & both meals were amazing & delicious. Very thoughtful & creative dishes that don't skimp on flavor. I just sat at the bar by myself to eat & although the bartender was super busy cranking out drinks for the whole restaurant, he was very attentive & polite. Great place & if I didn't have a business dinner scheduled elsewhere tomorrow evening, I'd be back at LOV again!
The restaurant had a beautiful & pleasant ambiance. The staff's attitude was acceptable, & the food quality was decent, though I expected a bit more in terms of flavor & uniqueness.
However, the service organization could be improved. We had a reservation for a special occasion, but upon arrival, we had to wait around 7-8 minutes before anyone came to greet us. Although the restaurant seemed to have many reservations that night, only two staff members were handling the floor, which led to delays in service.
The drinks were very flavorful & enjoyable. Overall, I would say about 60% of my expectations were met.
We had a wonderful dinner there tonight & the food was well prepared, beautiful & very tasty! They had no trouble at all working around a challenging allergy, making something on the fly, off menu, & the cocktail drinks were inventive & beautiful with lots of flower accents. You have your choice of table (some with booths), high top table, or bar seating. We chose the bar seating & it was terrific. The place is bright & light in its decor.
This place is amazing as someone with dietary restrictions. It's nice having a plant based restaurant option with a larger menu so always feel like there are options. It can be a bit pricey if you're getting drinks & a meal. I ordered the lasagna & tried the kimchi fries. I loved the fries but the lasagna & salad weren't too memorable.
Great experience at LOV .
The ambiance is cozy & chic, creating the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing meal. They specialize in plant-based cuisine, offering a wide variety of creative vegan & vegetarian dishes that are as flavorful as they are beautiful. From their signature bowls to the mouthwatering entrees, every bite was delightful. They also have a unique selection of drinks, including healthy, refreshing options & creative cocktails. The service was exceptional, with friendly staff who made sure we had everything we needed. Whether you're vegan, vegetarian, or just looking for delicious, wholesome food, LOV is a must-visit spot in Montreal!
We had the risotto & the raviolis, & had the mushroom toast appetizer. The food was all good, especially the appetizer. Although we thought the mains were a bit bland in terms of flavor. The drinks were really good! As for the atmosphere & the service, it was all 5stars.
Great atmosphere, service & drinks but mediocre/bad food. If I could I'd round up to 2.5 stars for the great atmosphere, staff & drinks, but the food is poorly thought out & expensive - & the texture of everything was somewhere between perplexing & offensive. Sauces, textures, temperatures & flavours were all mismatched. There were some interesting components in the tofu Benedict, but wow what a miss structurally (when it's easier to eat a bene with your bare hands, it's clear they missed the brief). The LOX bagel was terrible on so many levels, honestly we should have returned it. The waffles were almost fine I guess, but again texture & flavour balance weren't there. There are clever components on the plate, but I think trying to emulate non veg options is a real mistake. PS: There are real Montreal style bagels from actual Montreal bagel shops that are vegan - there is no reason to use the utterly trash American style bagels they've chosen. Inconceivable.
Amazing food, always fresh & innovating ! I don't drink, but they can easily turn most of their drinks into cocktails & they are delicious! Risotto & dumplings are amazing too!
One of the best vegan restaurants I have ever been to, my non vegan boyfriend agrees. While visiting Montreal on vacation, Lov was referred to us by many locals for my birthday dinner .We made a reservation & as soon as we walked in,we knew that it was the right choice. It was bright with beautiful Decor. We were seated immediately even though we were early for our reservation. Both the food & drinks were absolutely amazing. We decided to share plates so we could try more of the menu. I highly recommend doing this! We started off with drinks, a matcha sour martini & a pink everything which we both enjoyed. First we split the soup of the day which was lentil. It was the perfect start. The 2 appetizers we chose were the snails & the calamari which were nothing like we had ever had. FYi,the leftover butter from the snails makes a great dipping sauce for the calamari . For the main course we got the Mushroom risotto & the Lasagna which were delicious .They both exactly what I remembered them as since going vegan ,only better. Lastly,we had to try all 3 desserts which were keylime cheesecake, creme brule & a brownie with Macha ice cream & Berry Couli. both of us agreed that our favorite was the creme brule. The best part of our dinner by far was our waiter Felix. He gave great recommendations & was very attentive. He allowed us plenty of time to try everything that we ordered & never felt rushed but was always there when we needed him with a smile.Hopefully when you visit you will have him taking care of you . He made my whole birthday dinner a night I will never forget. Thanks Felix! Wish we could've made it back on thursday for the chicken & waffles!
Stumbled on this gem as I was wandering montreal. The interior is beautiful. The staff was friendly. But the star is their cocktails. Their bar tender is a potions master & watching him whip up the drinks was so much fun. The tango mango smoothie is the best smoothie I've had in the city. There is only so much one person can eat but I'm definitely coming back to try the rest.
the staff is very friendly, so flexible & adaptive (I asked to replace one ingredient in my dish, the result was amazing), & their food & drinks are incredible. hope to be back soon ✨
We went here for dinner after reading amazing reviews about the gnocchi, kimchi fries & coconut curry, sadly, they had stopped serving gnocchi, but we tried their coconut curry was delicious. Kimchi fries were okayish, they lacked kimchi & a bit of dressing so I wouldn't recommend it as you won't be missing out on anything. Their Dumplings were tasty too, the dipping sauce which came with it was delicious & we used the same to finish the kimchi fries too hehe. The coconut curry was soooo comforting, we were visiting montreal for the first time & were roaming for entire day, after having this coconut curry it just felt like we ended our day having home cooked dish!! I would highly recommend it if you are craving for some comfort food. The drinks were also nice, we ordered the Botanist & Pink everything , I must say the Botanist was really really good. I would highly recommend it. The ambience of this place is really nice & peaceful. It won't seem like a very big restaurant from outside but once you enter you would be like this is huge!! Plus it's all white & nice. I would come back here to try their brunch menu & also try their other dishes in future. & would be happy to see if they serve their famous gnocchi again!!! Staff here is very friendly & nice!
Really diverse menu. Perfect for a full meal or just drinks & appetizers. I saw people doing small events like birthday celebrations & it looked really nice. It is a very aesthetic place. Service was quick & I really enjoyed the food & drinks.
Great vibes, great drinks & dessert, horribly salted & peppered mains. Came with two others before the eclipse so we expected an unusually long wait & weren't bothered by it. Waitstaff was overwhelmed & forgetful, but apologetic & extremely friendly. The cocktails were AMAZING & the appetizers were great, but we were all disappointed with the entrees. I had the mushroom risotto that was both so salty & so peppery that you couldn't taste any of the mushrooms. My partner had a pasta dish that was likewise too salty to enjoy. Our friend had the quinoa bowl which was OK at best; the desserts were much better across the board. I'd give this place another chance, even for how pricey it was.
