Matter fact, best food in canada. Spanakopita is really good made with high quality fresh & clean ingredients. Their dough is organic too! Who knows what you're eating at other places. overall my favorite place in Montreal. don't forget the baklava cheesecake
Belle place! Goûté à la Moussaka, Spanakopita & les biscuits aux amandes...tout est absolument délicieux!!!!
Highly recommend the Spanakopita, it's the best in the city! Also the Tarama is exceptional, plus the staff are super friendly!
5* everything. What a find!!! We came across it this afternoon & are so happy we went in. It's immaculately clean, the welcome was super nice & helpful, the choice of food is abundant & the quality is amazing. Everything is made there including the light as a feather filo pastry for the Spanakopita & other varieties. Totally authentic, delicious & a must. We'll be back very very soon. Thank you so much :-)
Tout était délicieux & l'accueil a été chaleureux! Nous avons mangé la spanakopita, la tiropita & une moussaka.
I first stumbled into Kouzina Niata during a food tour with Local Montreal Food Tours & immediately felt like I'd found something special. The phyllo was flaky, the vibe was cozy, & everything had that homemade feel that just sticks with you.
Fast forward to my second visit, this time as a plus one for my friend Sarah's tasting, & it honestly made me love the place even more.
Tucked in Mile End, Kouzina is a warm little family-run Greek shop that somehow feels like it's been around forever (even though it's only three years old). You come in for a bite, & next thing you know, you're eyeing the freezer section like you're planning meals for the whole week.
They make their phyllo fresh in-house, & you can taste it. Crispy edges, buttery layers, soft centers… just everything you want in a savory pie. They also sell frozen versions to take home, along with olive oil, teas, dips, spreads, pantry goodies, & desserts. Basically, Greek comfort in a corner shop.
& yes, I definitely took a mirror selfie in their big beautiful window mirror. How could I not?
✨ Here's what I loved most:
• Montrealopita (smoked meat pie) - my top pick. Local twist, traditional feel, rich & flavorful.
• Kotopita (chicken & bacon) - came in second. So comforting & filling.
• Spanakopita - a classic done well. Light, fresh, & not too salty.
• Bougatsa - vanilla custard wrapped in phyllo, somehow cozy & delicate at the same time.
• Freddo Cappuccino - medium sweet, super smooth. You know that tragic little moment when you stir it & ruin the masterpiece? Worth it.
• Mango & Coconut Iced Tea - refreshing with a tropical vibe. Not too sweet, just enough.
I've been lucky enough to visit Santorini before, & tasting these pies brought me right back to those warm afternoons with sea breeze, flaky pastries, & that slow, joyful pace of life. It's amazing when a bite of food can do that.
This visit was part of a comped tasting, but sharing my honest thoughts above. 🫶🏽

Come hang out!
I've been here a few times for a spanakopita, & while the flavour is incredible, every spanakopita I've had from here has been filled with sand. I'm guessing that the leeks aren't being properly washed. I thought the first time was maybe a fluke, but after three times it's clear it's not. Don't think I'll give it a fourth go.
I loved my first experience for lunch! I had beef & veggies & spanakopita! Taste & freshness are outstanding! They make great coffee & they have sweets!
Niata is perfect. A great place to stop in for a Freddo cappuccino, Greek pie, dessert or any of your favourite authentic Greek dishes. I often go out of my way to stop in here. Their spanakopita is by far my favourite thing & their moussaka is amazing as well. The owners are super kind as well & you can tell they really care about the quality.
You can also purchase some of your favorite Greek chocolates, snacks & honey.
Hands down some of the best savoury pies I've had as take out. The flavors blend perfectly. The service was very welcoming, especially as a first time customer. My favorite choices after trying several products is the excellent'Pasticio' as well as the'Spanakopita'. A small negative was the'Bougatsa' a Phyllo sweet pastry whereby, I felt that the dough felt slightly underbaked. All in all, I will certainly visit again. A few stools & stand-up counters available for some eating in.
GEMISTA trop, trop salé! C'est dommage car le look semblait savoureux. Impossible de le manger. SPANAKOPITA, bon & croquant. RIZIGALO, bon.
Amazing spanakopita, as a turkish it was as delicious as my mom's spinach burek, definitely a must-try place
Easily the best spanakopita I've ever eaten, better than anything I had in Greece & the by far the best in Montreal. For a while, I've been noticing people coming out at the place with us slice, so I knew I had to try it & it doesn't disappoint. Perfect amount of phyllo, spinach & feta, so it hits the spot. The people are very friendly, it has a cool & laid back atmosphere & it's located right on the trendy Via Street. Highly recommend.
Delicious three cheese tiropita ( pizza shaped spanakopita😊) salads & pastries. Service was excellent
Best spanakopita & Bougatsa outside of greece. Coffee is great too.
Fresh greek food cafe with organic local & greek ingredients gredients, we tried their spanakopita & really enjoyed it, excellent!
We shared Greek salad, spanakopita, tzatziki, moussaka - everything was perfect. The quality of tomatoes, feta & oil in the dressing to the thickness of the yogurt in the tzatziki, to the pillowy topping of the moussaka. Super satisfying & great service. Will be back soon!
Went here for the first time today to try the spanakopita. The crust is less flaky than other spanakopita's I have had, however that does make for a cleaner meal & making this a good snack for on-the-go. The filling is generous & well seasoned.
Great ambiance & very attentive service. Spanakopita & bougatsa are exquisite.
