Matter fact, best food in canada. Spanakopita is really good made with high quality fresh & clean ingredients. Their dough is organic too! Who knows what you're eating at other places. overall my favorite place in Montreal. don't forget the baklava cheesecake
Really cute little spot. Great prepared food & desserts. The freddo café is delicious. It wasn't diluted like & strong & frothy, It was probably the best coffee I had in Montreal in the last few years. The desserts are fresh & tasty. The pies are delicious & flaky. I like that canned beer is an option.
I first stumbled into Kouzina Niata during a food tour with Local Montreal Food Tours & immediately felt like I'd found something special. The phyllo was flaky, the vibe was cozy, & everything had that homemade feel that just sticks with you.
Fast forward to my second visit, this time as a plus one for my friend Sarah's tasting, & it honestly made me love the place even more.
Tucked in Mile End, Kouzina is a warm little family-run Greek shop that somehow feels like it's been around forever (even though it's only three years old). You come in for a bite, & next thing you know, you're eyeing the freezer section like you're planning meals for the whole week.
They make their phyllo fresh in-house, & you can taste it. Crispy edges, buttery layers, soft centers… just everything you want in a savory pie. They also sell frozen versions to take home, along with olive oil, teas, dips, spreads, pantry goodies, & desserts. Basically, Greek comfort in a corner shop.
& yes, I definitely took a mirror selfie in their big beautiful window mirror. How could I not?
✨ Here's what I loved most:
• Montrealopita (smoked meat pie) - my top pick. Local twist, traditional feel, rich & flavorful.
• Kotopita (chicken & bacon) - came in second. So comforting & filling.
• Spanakopita - a classic done well. Light, fresh, & not too salty.
• Bougatsa - vanilla custard wrapped in phyllo, somehow cozy & delicate at the same time.
• Freddo Cappuccino - medium sweet, super smooth. You know that tragic little moment when you stir it & ruin the masterpiece? Worth it.
• Mango & Coconut Iced Tea - refreshing with a tropical vibe. Not too sweet, just enough.
I've been lucky enough to visit Santorini before, & tasting these pies brought me right back to those warm afternoons with sea breeze, flaky pastries, & that slow, joyful pace of life. It's amazing when a bite of food can do that.
This visit was part of a comped tasting, but sharing my honest thoughts above. 🫶🏽

I loved my first experience for lunch! I had beef & veggies & spanakopita! Taste & freshness are outstanding! They make great coffee & they have sweets!
Beautiful shop full of delicious fresh food, lots of healthy options, friendly helpful staff.
Stunningly good authentic freshly made greek food. Not a sit down restaurant, but if you aren't needing table service you definitely should try this place!
Fresh greek food cafe with organic local & greek ingredients gredients, we tried their spanakopita & really enjoyed it, excellent!
A hidden gem!! We happened to walk by & thought we'd check it out & i'm glad we did! Freshly squeezed orange juice & amazing service! The people here are very friendly, all food made in house & warmed up if needed ! I'd definitely come back here when I'm visiting !
Everything was delicious, familiar yet unique & fresh. Some items were a bit overpriced & it's a bit unfortunate that this business relies on so much plastic but at least they use metal containers & wooden cutlery too. I got the : Greek peas = comes hot, decently priced, rosette d'aubergine = maybe a bit overpriced? , comes hot. gigantes = decently priced, came hot. Fava= a bit overpriced, comes cold. 5 bean salad = overpriced, comes cold. Tirokafteri = overpriced, comes cold. Bean soup / fasolada = a bit overpriced, comes cold. Farro salad = overpriced, comes cold. Tomatokeftedes = a bit overpriced, comes cold. Kourabiedes (almond cookies)= so good & decently priced. The food was prepared fairly quickly & made it to me in time. It's easy to stop by & pick something up & the owner is really nice. I would order again. thank you for putting love into the business & making sure the quality stays high consistently
The spanakopita, pastitio & baklava are phenomenal. The food was fresh & flavorful, reminiscent of a home cooked meal. Niata is a fantastic spot in the Mile End with very friendly staff!
Had the three cheese spanakopita. Most delicious & fresh piece I've had in the city. There's nothing more to add. Also, the spot has a modern greek vibe & everyone in the spot was speaking greek. Absolutely amazing taste & everything about this spot feels good. Prices are fair but more on the expensive side. The quality of the food compensates this.
Everything was so tasty & fresh. One of the best foods I’ve had in Montreal!
What a hidden gem!! Fresh food cooked every day, truly enjoyed our coffee & Tiropita. A must try when in the area.
