La Table Gourmande by Jérôme Ferrer was, unfortunately, one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had. From the service to the food-& even the comfort of the dining space-the restaurant fell short on every level.
Having dined at four Michelin-starred restaurants in the same week, I was genuinely surprised this establishment had earned one. We were seated by a window, which in itself was not a problem, but the temperature was uncomfortably cold. In a city known for its freezing winters, I expected better insulation or heating. I eventually had to retrieve my jacket just to stay warm during the meal.
As for the food, overall it lacked depth of flavor & refinement. The poached egg was lukewarm, the bay scallops were bland, & the lobster mac & cheese was both greasy & uninspired. The Caesar-style cabbage dish was similarly disappointing. Service issues compounded the experience-our server once forgot to replace our cutlery between courses, leaving us unable to eat while our dishes cooled. On another occasion, plates were cleared while we were still eating.
To make matters worse, one dish was so tough to cut that it ended up spilling down my front despite my care. Unfortunately, none of the staff seemed to notice or offer assistance.
The poor service continued even at the end of the evening. After waiting an extended time for our check, I eventually stood at the front of the restaurant. After about 10 minutes, I asked a staff member to please bring my husband the bill, which then took another 10 minutes to process.
Overall, the restaurant failed to deliver the level of quality, service, & hospitality expected of a Michelin-starred establishment.
This was a complete experience & I have nothing but praise for the institution.

Can't wait to come back when they become 2 Michelin Star place
A one Michelin star restaurant in Montreal. Montreal has just announced Michelin guide in 2025.
The restaurant is spacious, with a large number of tables. We still need a reservations in advance. The service was impeccable; the staff were polished, professional, & highly attentive.
Dining here provided a memorable experience, clearly reflecting the care & effort invested in every detail of the meal. They provided a course menu which took us 3:30 hours to finish. We three were pleased to spend time here.
While there is still room for improvement in terms of flavor refinement, the overall experience was highly enjoyable, & we truly appreciated our time here.
Worthy of its Michelin star, it is a Montreal experience not to be missed.
I will leave the cuisine for Michelin to critique, but will say the dining room is spacious & elegant. It provides table privacy in an intimate setting. Service is exceptional save for our server's obsession with fendi bags (… Chanel forever), but a bag stool should be mandatory for a resto of this stature (although one cannot compensate for another's contempt for her bag). The presentation was hilarious & my friend had fun with the cotton candy after dinner :)
I went for New Years Eve & it was a spectacular dinner. I had the full menu gastronomique as well as a special New Years wine pairing. Everything was perfect. The staff was efficient & friendly. The sommelier was both friendly & very knowledgeable. The food had the right amount of theater without seeming cliche & also maintaining the excellence of each dish. Too many different dishes to go into detail here but highlights include lobster tail, Kobe beef & a wonderful oyster dish. Nice touch was that they give you cards that provide the backstory for each dish, I found it very helpful as I normally miss part of what the server says when presenting. Definitely an experience restaurant that I would recommend when you are in Montreal.
I'll go straight to the point. Europea does not live up to Michelin-star standards.
When we arrived, our table was not ready. We were left standing at the entrance for ten minutes with no explanation.
We chose the ten-course tasting menu. Only one dish stood out. The rest were forgettable. The wine pairing was underwhelming & added little to the experience.
The biggest disappointment was the service. It felt rushed, uncoordinated, & oddly stressful. There was no sense of pacing or attention.
All four of us left disappointed. This was not the level of experience we expected.
