Jack Astor's is described as a lively, family friendly spot with generous portions, a casual pub vibe and a menu that blends comfort foods with some global options. Reviewers praise friendly and attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere, with many noting fast service on some visits and slower pace on others. The drink menu is popular with a wide selection of beers and non alcoholic options, and favorites mentioned include nachos, wings and burgers. The venue is seen as clean and stylish, sometimes busy, and a few comments mention outdated decor or items on the menu, as well as occasional order mix ups or price concerns. Overall the experience comes across as enjoyable and reliable, with trivia nights and game viewing adding to the appeal for groups and families, though noise can be high and service hiccups occur from time to time.
We thoroughly enjoyed the pleasant time we spent out there. The food options were genuinely good, & the individuals present were so sweet. The personnel were remarkably welcoming to everyone. On the whole, it was a wonderful event that offered solid benchmarks at modest rates.
Used to come here from time to time but it's been awhile since I have. Prices are not proportionate to the serving size. Used to do family gatherings there but not anymore. Staff are good. Just wish you get better value for what you pay for (e.g. chicken tenders).
Very disappointing experience with our server, Gaby. We didn't even get offered water, & there was barely any interaction throughout the meal. After the food was brought out, nobody came back to check if everything was okay. The only time Gaby came back to our table was after we were already done eating to ask if we needed anything else.
The food tasted decent, but my pasta was lukewarm while my husband's meal came out hot, which honestly made me jealous. The chicken in my pasta also had burnt edges, & despite paying extra for bacon & mushrooms, there was barely any bacon included.
The service seemed heavily focused on the other side of the restaurant, even though the hockey game hadn't even started yet. My drink was also mostly ice, which felt like a waste of money.
What disappointed me the most was at the end of the meal. I still had leftovers, & instead of asking if I wanted a takeout container like most servers usually do, Gaby cleared my plate & stacked another person's dirty plate on top of mine, making it obvious I couldn't bring it home anymore. She did offer to replace it afterward without charging me, which I appreciated, because honestly if she hadn't offered that, I probably wouldn't have left a tip.
Definitely hesitant to come back after this experience.
Amazing experience at Jack Astor's! The food was delicious, everything tasted fresh & full of flavor. The service was exceptional super friendly, attentive, & fast. Definitely one of those places where you enjoy both the food & the atmosphere. Highly recommended!
