I'm honestly really disappointed with my brunch experience at Foiegwa today. My fiancé & I came here back in the summer of 2023 & had such an incredible meal that it stuck with us for years.
For my birthday brunch this November (2025), I decided to order the same thing - the chicken & waffles - but what came out was a totally different experience. The chicken was dry, overcooked, & served in small nugget-like pieces instead of the full, juicy portions they used to make. The waffles were also dry & lifeless, missing the balance & flavor that made the original dish special. For $25, it really felt like a downgrade. Thankfully, I added potatoes on the side - they ended up being the best part of the meal.

I'm giving 3 stars because not every dish here is bad (I've tried both brunch & dinner), but seeing how much this signature plate has changed makes me realize it's not worth the hype anymore. I really hope the kitchen revisits what once made their food great.
Amazing vibe, aesthetic is really nice! Food was underwhelming though. The chicken & waffle & salmon Benedict was bland. Thank God for hot sauce. On top of that, i noticed a tiny hair on my pancake & told the server. He came back a few minutes later with the exact same plate. Choose the sweet over savory option. The pancake was SO good. Really made up for the whole meal. Matcha latte was nice as well. Overall experience 3/5
Had a really nice date night, the service was great & the food even better.
The chicken special was highly recommended & I can tell why! MUST TRY
Chefs Kiss to Jonah 💋
Cesar salad, chicken liver pate, beef tartare, mussels were all very delicious. The service & atmosphere were very great.
It's such a cute little spot. The vibe is cozy & welcoming, & the staff was super nice & attentive throughout our meal.
We started with the fried chicken appetizer & the foie gras, both were great, but the foie gras really stood out, one of the best I've had. The fried chicken was tasty too, though the portion could've been a bit bigger. The asparagus was a bit of a letdown, not quite what we were hoping for.
For mains, I had the truffle tartare, which was absolutely delicious. My husband had the beef bavette, cooked & seasoned perfectly.
Overall, the food was great & the prices are really reasonable for the quality. Would definitely come back to try more!
My first time eating chicken & waffles & it did not disappoint.
Will go back to try menu découverte.
This was a really good restaurant. We tried the late night tasting menu & got the mushroom velouté (soup), smash burger & truffle pasta. The truffle pasta was the highlight of the meal really creamy & you could really taste the truffle. The smash burger was also good but I would say the bechamel fries were really good as well. The velouté was also really good & a great starter, personally it looked tastier than the chicken liver. Overall this is a great place for a date & the place is cozy & nice. The 25$ tasting menu is absolutely worth it
Amazing place. I am not disappointed! They let us order the tasting menu for just 1 guest which gave my mom the opportunity to order another dish for us to try & share. This business is ethical & mindful of their guests & we were taken care of by all staff member. I believe this venue pools their tips amongst staff members because it was obvious that all of them paid attention to each guest & would help each other out to look after guests & I appreciate that. We can feel it through the attentive care & quality of service. The bill came out at $75 for 2 people who ate until near explosion. This was a very very worthy meal. We tried the chicken liver mousse, foie gras au torchon, truffle spaghetti & the escargots. Escargots could use a bit more flavour. The other dishes were amazing. Jeremy & Sarah provided amazing service, so thank you. Will be back again!
We were recommended this restaurant from a coworker for our girls weekend away. From the very start the staff were 10 out of 10! Very kind, professional & got us a great spot. The vibe in the small Cafe was so lovely woth great pictures & music. The drinks were amazing! Great selection of alcohol beverages & BEST part.... no children. This explained the high end experience & flavor in the food. The chef was accommodating for changes to the menu. The truffle eggs Benedict, duck confit egg Benedict & chicken & waffles were insane! Can't recommend this location enough. We went at 1030am & had no problem getting a table for 5 though it was full but when we left, the entire corner sidewalk was filled with waiting people. No reservations.
Came here with five people, got a great both, we don't speak any French & the service was phenomenal. The drinks were fantastic - we had cappuccino, espresso martini & had mimosa for the table. The food was unbelievable, we had a few different eggs Benedict, croque madame & chicken & waffles. The truffle hollandaise is to die for, & the fois gras torchon was perfect. The vibes here are also very cool, & everyone in your party has to be over 18 to dine.
This place is overrated. We went there for the 3 courses for 25$ & the food portions were not only very small, but it was also very mid. We were excited about the truffle spaghetti & honestly the pasta tasted like the buldack carbonara one. It tasted cheap & not worth the price. It's a very small place, very crowded but it has a charm, sadly not as amazing as it was advertised on TikTok. :( I'm glad we had the chicken liver. It saved the night.
Atmosphere is great. Service is good. Order of chicken mouse, pasta, oysters, Food review: Late night menu, Yo not gonna lie that truffle pasta had a certain acidity that brought me back to a flavour of p*****. Not bad p***** right. Acidity over all plates got us bad, the apple sauce & pasta. P* taste. Fuggazi beer was nice. Pomegranate wine, I'd chose something else. Bad luck?
Came a few months ago for brunch on a long weekend. We were worried there would be a long wait, but luckily we came at a good time & got a table right away. We ordered: Pancakes👌 Chicken & Waffles 💕 The first pancake dish served was actually undercooked & still raw in the middle, so they quickly replaced a new order for us & it was perfect 👌 thick & fluffy with maple butter. The chicken & waffles are definitely one of my favourites the chicken was so juicy & the crispy skin was well spiced. Waffles were nothing special but still good.
I was not impressed with the food. Our food was cold, the pancakes were way too dense & dry. The chicken & waffles were meh. They were definitely understaffed for a long weekend, which sucks because it's not the staffs fault. The service was super slow & they forgot about my smoothie though I had requested it several times, at least they took it off our bill.
Have been to foiegwa four times over the last few years & it is one of my favourite restaurants in Canada in terms of its bang for buck. The homemade spaghetti with truffle is to die for ($28.75). The chicken liver mousse ($6.25)& bechamel parmesan truffle fries ($9.25) are both great. Service is friendly & quick. The restaurant is very cute.
Got the $25 3-course meal plus the extra Betty Boop cocktail, very satisfied with everything! Started off with the chicken pâté, then with the creamy truffle spaghetti, & finished with a nice cheesecake. Everything was so tasty!
Went for a brunch her as a friend of mine really wanted to try this restaurant. Once out of the restaurant, I understood why I never went back to Foiegwa since my first visit in 2018. The place is really small & when it gets busy (which is the case for brunch time during the weekend), the noise makes it impossible to enjoy the atmosphere. It can really give you a headache! Besides the atmosphere, I honestly think that the food is not worth the vibe. If compared to other places, the fried chicken is Ok, the fries came cold which wasn't very appealing & the Foiegwa Slam was ok but nothing special about it.
Interesting cocktails. Offers a late night menu with dishes that pairs well together - would recommend ordering both if dining for two. Appetizing dishes, especially the chicken liver mousse which was very palatable & oddly delightful. Place was packed full & pretty loud, would not recommend for first dates or first time meetings; great place for catching up or date nights.
I have been there 3-4 times for both brunch & dinner. The dishes are always great, BUT the drinks are outstanding!! You might feel a bit cramped up in busy night. Overall is a worthy place to try! P.S. The fried chicken with waffle & the black truffle pasta with egg yoke are my top reformations.
Very charming. The food is very very rich. We got the 3 course meal for $25 deal (available Sunday-Thursday after 9pm) The truffle pasta was really good. The chicken liver was also very good. We didn't love everything else. Make a reservation at least a few days in advance. Great atmosphere for a group smaller than 4 people.
