Tried the guava, pineapple, & dulce de leche, they were all very fresh & flaky! Really happy we have something like this in Montreal.
Best concha of my life as a Mexican-American. Wished there was somewhere to sit in the winter time.
Great service & very knowledgeable about the Mexican baked goods. The corn muffin was amazing
I've been coming to this place for over quite some time now, & I love it every single time. As a Mexican who has lived here for over 12 years, & after trying tamales & conchas all over the city, these are by far the most authentic & flavorful. Every time I go, the bread is fresh & the oaxacan hot chocolate is fantastic.
I also love walking in & hearing Spanish being spoken, as well as the warm, familiar sound of strong Spanish accents. It feels like being transported to Mexico. That's how magical this little, cozy boulangerie is.
I particularly appreciate that this place is woman owned & that she hires a diverse workforce & she is transparent about her locally sourced ingredients & recipes. After being a loyal customer for a while, I recently attended one of her pan de muerto workshops with my son, & we absolutely loved it. It wasn't just a baking class; it was also a history lesson with a dose of food chemistry & more. It lasted four hours & was worth every penny.
& to those leaving negative reviews, it's disheartening to see people with Hispanic last names trying to diminish a fellow Hispanic's business in a world where authenticity is scarce. Ignore the bad reviews , get your tamal, order your dirty horchata (coffee with horchata) & buy happy! Park by the high school, no there's no seating (but who cares?! You are there for the food not for the sitting) & as you would with every other bakery go there early! Sharing a pic of the inside of my bread for those who say her bread is bad. It isn't in my eyes.
Simply a must visit place. The pan dulce is as good if not better than in Mexico (from a mexican). If you are seeing this in October/November go get pan de muerto. Don't walk, run!
Great little Mexican bakery! I like the moka cafe & the chocolate brioche! You can sit outside & enjoy your drink! Service outstanding!!!
The only mexican bakery that I actually take some time of my weekend to visit, all the bread is exquisite but the tamales are delicious as well. Really worth the visit if you are into Mexican food.
Delicious!!! A bite of Mexican heaven ^-^
(I hope they could open a little place to sit inside for these cold months)
I don't know if there are any other Mexican bakeries in Montreal, but I doubt anyone can find anything better than Carlota, their pastries are supreme. I had one of the best Pan de Muerto I've had in my life, not even in Mexico you can find something this good.
Best Mexican bread & tamales. Love it Service was amazing & the food incredible. Definitely I will go back.
Really good food! Mexican flavour & the service was amazing. There's one guy at the front that I would love to remember his name because of the really good gob that he does✨
My favorite place for Mexican boulangerie, el mejor pan dulce de Montréal.
What a beautiful panadería, they create magic by making delightful mexican pastries. I thank Carlota for dignifying mexican bread through love, hard work & authenticity. The textures, flavor, service, impeccable, it is quite an experience out of this world & to be honest I happily state that it is an honor to have Carlota in this magnificent city. I wish them plenty of years of success & happiness. Gracias por sus obras de arte y su generosidad. 🫶🏼
Hands down the best Mexican pastry in Montreal. Beautiful conchas & creative variations of classic pan dulce.
We did a workshop on how to make Pan de Muerto & it was a really beautiful experience. Mariana, the owner, is delightful & not only makes the experience of learning baking fun, but also explains the Mexican history & symbolism behind what you are making. Highly recommend. Our bread turned out beautiful & delicious.
This place is a gem. Absolutely delicious & authentic Oaxaca pastries, great coffees, horchata & Mexican hot chocolate. Incredibly friendly service & they will explain all of their delicious treats to you. Definitely worth a visit!
