About us

Downtown Montreal is home to a brand new occupant, and we’re here to have a good time. A social lounge, an artisan bar and a modern bistro, Bivouac provides an urban and boreal gastronomic experience to all who pass through its doors.

Here, the objective is simple: to introduce guests to a whole new world of tastes and sensations. Taking advantage of the best that the Quebec region and its artisans have to offer.

Bivouac is where guests can get away from the chaos of city life to explore, share and enjoy the quintessence of our nature, all during a meal.

Located in the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on the 6th floor of Complexe Desjardins.
In summer, the Bivouac Terrace offers a breathtaking view of the city and is perfectly located to enjoy the lively Place des Festivals. In winter, the Refuges du Bivouac offer to set up a camp for an evening under a beautifully decorated and heated dome that can accommodate up to 10 people, in the heart of the entertainment district.

Espace très bien aménagé, chic & chaleureux; pas tros bruyant (mais nous sommes allées très tôt, de 17h30 à 19h30 . Service sympathique & efficace. Nourriture vraiment excellente! Bémol: la liste des vins: plusieurs options vin québécois (ce qui est très bien) dont un très bon chardonnay; mais pas assez d'options si on veut des classiques francais & italiens dans le rouge & le blanc: il faudrait vraiment améliorer cet aspect, surtout considérant le niveau gastronomique de leur menu

Très bon service globalement & très bons plats. L'aménagement de la terrasse est très bien, les tables sont espacées entre elles. La musique est un peu trop forte, il est parfois difficile de discuter.

Débuter la soirée au Bivouac a été un coup de coeur. Nos choix d'entrées & plats principaux ont ravi nos papilles gustatives. La présentation était appétissante & décrite gentiment à chaque service. Le personnel était courtois & respectueux. L'ambiance était apaisante. Merci

Vue sur le quartier des spectacles imprenable & intéressante. Musique forte difficulté à s'entendre ( ex: description des plats du serveur, discussion à table). Personnel très courtois & attentionné. Repas très apprécié & excellent, bravo aux chefs pour les belles idées, la créativité & la présentation des plats. Belle découverte que je recommanderai.

The best freshest tasty food for your money in Montreal. They enhance the taste without compromise. The cod with minimal herbs & the beef tartare were perfect . The best were the scallops : as good as in the best restaurants on the Atlantic coast . Their alcohol free beer Meteorite was delicious . The suggested wine Cote du Rhône ,Mademoiselle des Monts was amazing smooth yet rich. Our 2 very original desserts were a perfect ending . Friendly, joyful & very helpful staff : Sacha & everyone else were great.

Bel endroit, bonne table, service très agréable.
Magnifique terrasse par contre nous avons dû manger à l'intérieur en raison de la musique trop forte & ce partout sur la terrasse. Très très décevant.
