Downtown Montreal is home to a brand new occupant, and we’re here to have a good time. A social lounge, an artisan bar and a modern bistro, Bivouac provides an urban and boreal gastronomic experience to all who pass through its doors.
Here, the objective is simple: to introduce guests to a whole new world of tastes and sensations. Taking advantage of the best that the Quebec region and its artisans have to offer.
Bivouac is where guests can get away from the chaos of city life to explore, share and enjoy the quintessence of our nature, all during a meal.
Our Specialties
Oyster bar, Cold meats platter, Cheese platter, Salmon gravlax, Deer tataki, Smoked bison carpaccio, French rack of piglet, Duck breast, Seared cod fillet, Homemade desserts, House cocktails & Private import wine.

In summer, the Bivouac Terrace offers a breathtaking view of the city and is perfectly located to enjoy the lively Place des Festivals. In winter, the Refuges du Bivouac offer to set up a camp for an evening under a beautifully decorated and heated dome that can accommodate up to 10 people, in the heart of the entertainment district.
Guests describe Bivouac as a refined and welcoming destination where service is consistently attentive and the cuisine feels inventive and generously portioned. The setting ranges from elegant indoor dining to magical winter bubbles and a terrace that glows under night lights. Dishes are praised for their presentation and quality, with standout seafood and well crafted wine pairings, though some reviewers note room for more variety in the wine by the glass. The staff are commended for professionalism and thoughtful service that makes celebrations and pre show meals feel special, while a few comments mention higher prices and occasional noise. Overall, Bivouac comes across as a standout choice for memorable dinners, gatherings, and special occasions, offering a memorable combination of food, wine, and ambiance.
Bivouac boasts an exceptional interior design, where every plate is meticulously crafted & adorned. The food itself is a delightful culinary experience that leaves a lasting impression. The staff goes above & beyond to cater to your needs, but there's a slight issue.
Regrettably, the staff's efforts don't quite exude genuine warmth, & the overall atmosphere can feel a bit chilly. Despite this, I would be willing to give it another chance, hoping that this was just a one-off occurrence.
A lovely restaurant with chill music in the background from a live DJ. I was not loud which was greatly appreciated.
The food was excellent & fairly priced. I had the spelt risotto. My husband had the ribs. We shared the cod appetizer. All were delicious. The pudding chomeur with maple ice cream was very good too.
