We did not have a great time at this place.
Gluten Free options were nonexistent. Staff was doing absolutely no effort to accommodate our family.
We made a reservation for 4 for a Habs hockey game & a birthday celebratory dinner,... doesn't get much better! We were able to try a new wine which was pretty good... & the BBQ Ribs were to die for, so flavourful & tender. Delightful ambiance & courteous & efficient service. For a new opening in Pointe-Claire I give it 2 thumbs up 👍 👍
This is not the same Batton Rouge you know from 5-10 years ago. Below average food greasy overcooked small plates. Just horrible change in how this place is run. Hard pass, unless you are there for a drink or at best a burger. Service slow & average.
I have been coming to the older & new location for years. The service is always great & they can make older menu items from years ago for me. I bring my niece here for lunch dates & she also loves their chicken tenders.
I visited the new Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar location in Pointe-Claire last night. Unfortunately, while the evening started strong, it went downhill once the mains arrived.
Our server (I don't remember her name) was excellent - attentive, friendly, & professional throughout the evening. We started with drinks, the garlic bread gratin, & calamari, & all of it was fabulous.
Then came the entrées. Two of us ordered the seafood linguini. For a dish priced at over $35, I was disappointed to receive what was essentially a large bowl of pasta with only two small shrimp & three tiny scallops. At that price point, I would reasonably expect a much more generous seafood portion.
The other entrée was a steak ordered medium, simply because the person dining with me did not want it bleeding. It arrived well done, with no pink at all.
To end on a positive note, the espresso martini was delicious & the apple dessert was absolutely decadent.
At the end of the day, though, a restaurant has to get the mains right. Sadly, based on this experience, I won't be returning.
