The first thing that stands out is the atmosphere. The space is compact, but the tables are thoughtfully arranged, which keeps the room from feeling crowded. The layout creates a comfortable flow where conversations remain intimate rather than drowned in noise. The low lighting adds warmth, & the presence of a live DJ gives the restaurant a subtle lounge energy without overpowering the dining experience.
The food is excellent. Each dish is carefully prepared & beautifully presented, with the kind of balance & precision you expect from a high-quality Japanese kitchen. The menu manages to feel both refined & approachable, making it easy to explore a few different plates.
Service is another highlight. The waiters & waitresses are attentive & genuinely helpful when it comes to recommendations. They guide you through the menu with confidence & enthusiasm, which makes the experience feel personal rather than transactional.

We celebrated my son's birthday at Yubari at the end of February 2026, & it was truly a wonderful experience from start to finish.
The sushi was absolutely amazing, incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, & full of flavor. The Chicken Karaage was just as impressive, perfectly crispy on the outside, tender & juicy inside, & seasoned to perfection.
The atmosphere made the evening feel even more special, warm, stylish, & welcoming, perfect for a family celebration.
A special thank you to Frederike, who was extremely attentive throughout the night. She took the time to explain the menu in detail & offered excellent recommendations that made our choices easy & spot on.
& we can't forget the Trompe l'oeil noisette which was a delightful & unexpected surprise that added a creative & memorable touch to the evening.
Overall, Yubari delivered an unforgettable birthday dinner. We'll definitely be back !

The ambience & decor was stunning. The service was very attentive & unhurried. Our server (also the bartender) had great suggestions & the drinks were amazing
Food was presented beautifully & delicious - sashimi premium platter was second to none
Only minor criticism - duck fried rice was too salty.
Alexia was absolutely amazing. She was attentive, patient, & provided our group with exceptional service. The food was amazing, but Alexia really made the experience a 10/10, being sure to explain every dish & drink. Thank you for such an incredible experience. She is an amazing waitress & person, making sure to make us satisfied with every single dish & drink, explaining drinks that were hard to understand.

Last week, I had my networking event at Yubari which was exceptional. The guests, alongside myself, loved the food & were really pleased by the drinks & the service that the staff offered during our event.
The service during the night was perfect: super attentive, kind & quick. I was also very lucky to work with Tristan, the event manager, during the planning of the event who was super responsive during our email exchanges & was super helpful in making our event a success. Big thanks to Tristan & his team for making the night run so smoothly & ensuring everything was perfect from start to finish.
Nonetheless, my guests & I were super pleased with the food, the drinks, the ambiance, & the service we were given during the planning of the event, as well as during the event itself. I had so many guests throughout & after the night tell me how much they loved the venue, the food & the drinks. If you're planning an event, I highly recommend Yubari! Tristan & his team made the whole process so easy, & your guests will definitely be impressed by the whole experience!

Yubari has an incredible ambiance. Stylish yet comfortable, perfect for both casual lunches & special occasions. The staff are amazing: super welcoming, attentive, & genuinely kind, which makes the whole experience even better.
The lunch special is absolutely worth it! Great value & delicious quality that really stands out. Every dish is fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented.

After years of struggling to find truly exceptional service in Montreal's dining scene, Yubari Sushi has completely restored my faith in what a restaurant experience can be. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were treated to a level of hospitality that goes far beyond the ordinary.
Outstanding Service from Top to Bottom
The evening began with our hostess, whose name started with a T (I don't want to mispronounce it, but she deserves all the recognition). What initially seemed like standard greeting quickly revealed itself as something extraordinary. This woman, who I later discovered was actually the director, went above & beyond in every possible way. Her accommodating nature & genuine care for our dining experience was refreshing & rare, particularly in Montreal where exceptional service can be surprisingly hard to come by.
Our waitress Lena was equally remarkable. She took the time to walk us through each dish with genuine enthusiasm & expertise, explaining not just what we were ordering, but how each item was prepared. Her knowledge of their unique sake selection was impressive, & she thoughtfully guided us through pairings that perfectly complemented our sushi choices. Throughout the entire meal, Lena remained incredibly attentive - our glasses were never empty, & she seemed to anticipate our needs before we even realized them ourselves.
The Food: Simply Outstanding
I started with the Wagyu slider, which was absolutely phenomenal. The quality of the beef was evident in every bite, perfectly prepared & bursting with flavor. My wife's ceviche was equally impressive - fresh, vibrant, & beautifully balanced with just the right amount of acidity & seasoning.
The main course of sushi was, quite simply, to die for. Each piece was a masterclass in flavor & technique, with the fish melting in our mouths & the rice perfectly seasoned & textured. But what truly surprised us was their fried rice - this wasn't your typical side dish. It was incredibly well-seasoned & flavorful, easily standing on its own as a highlight of the meal.
Atmosphere & Experience
Adding to the already exceptional evening was the lively atmosphere created by their DJ, who kept the energy perfect throughout our meal. The music selection created a vibrant backdrop without overwhelming conversation, striking that difficult balance that so many restaurants struggle with.
What made the experience even more special was having the director check on us personally during our meal. This level of care from management is rare & shows how much this establishment values their guests' experience.
Yubari Sushi is an absolute gem in Montreal's restaurant scene. Do yourself a favor & make a reservation - you won't regret it. Between Lena's exceptional service, the director's personal touch, the outstanding food quality, & the perfect atmosphere, this restaurant has set a new standard for what dining out should be.
We are definitely coming back, & I can't recommend this place highly enough. In a city where great service can be elusive, Yubari proves that exceptional hospitality & incredible food can absolutely coexist.

We heard of this restaurant theough social media & as big sushi lovers, we came in to try it out. We were not disappointed- the atmosphere, overall vibe & service was outstanding. The staff are extremely friendly & attentive. The food was the absolute best- you can tell they pride themselves on the highest quality food & experience. If you love sushi, this is a must try!
I recently spent the weekend in Montreal with the girls for a little getaway. On our first night, we had dinner at Yubari, a sleek Japanese restaurant known for its fresh, authentic sushi. The vibes were immaculate-chic yet cozy, perfect for everything from a casual night out to a celebratory dinner. Our waitress was a gem-super sweet, attentive, & incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, which made our experience even better.
We ordered their edamame, salmon tacos, crispy rice, sashimi platter (12pcs) & their Yubari signature rolls.
Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, & the presentation of each dish was stunning-almost too pretty to eat. The edamame was coated in truffle, giving it a rich, earthy twist that elevated it far beyond the usual appetizer. It practically melted in my mouth. The sashimi & Yubari signature rolls were incredibly fresh, each bite packed with clean, balanced flavors. But the standout for me was the crispy rice-topped with Bluefin tuna tartare, a touch of mujjol caviar, lemon zest, & a drizzle of unagi sauce. The contrast of textures & flavors made every bite burst with richness, brightness, & just the right hint of sweetness.
J'ai eu l'immense plaisir de souper au restaurant Yubari pour fêter les 43 ans de ma conjointe & je dois dire que l'expérience a été absolument incroyable ! Tout d'abord, le service a été exceptionnel. Sarah, notre serveuse, a été attentive, professionnelle & incroyablement sympathique. Mais ce qui m'a vraiment impressionné, c'est que toute l'équipe du restaurant a travaillé en parfaite harmonie pour nous offrir un service de haute qualité.
Mais le service n'est pas tout - la nourriture a été à la hauteur de nos attentes ! Les plats étaient non seulement visuellement appétissants, mais les saveurs étaient également explosives & délicieuses. Chaque bouchée était un véritable régal pour les papilles. Essayez le Mini burger de Wagyu, c'est divin.
L'ambiance & la deco est, comme le reste, parfaite.

Amazing experience overall. Everything was fresh & delicious. Atmosphere & decor were immaculate. However, I must highlight the service. The entire staff was attentive, welcoming, & fun - which I find quite rare in the city unfortunately. We had the absolute pleasure of having Sarah at our table who was truly the best. Will definitely be back & would recommend tenfold!

My wife & I spent 4 days visiting Montreal for the holidays, & this was out favorite restaurant. YUBARI (found inside a hotel) is a Japanese restaurant with a wonderful wood-slat decor, dim ambiance, & beautiful bar. The seats were comfortable, the music was unintrusive, & the hosts collected our Jackets which was really nice on a cold/snowy day. We ordered the wagyu mini burger, two sushi rolls, fried rice, & two desserts. The true star was the sushi as the Maori Tai & Yubari signature were both outstanding. The flavors, textures, & even the foods temperature were all perfect. Regarding service, our server was very friendly & gave great recommendations. He had his hands full with some larger tables but still made sure to check in. The food times were a bit long, but nothing crazy. Our favorite person there was absolutely Anita. She probably poured us a gallon of water, & had fun doing it! what a vibrant & lovely person. We really enjoyed chatting with her & she really changed our experience from a fabulous meal to a fantastic outing. overall, if your in this part of Montreal, id say this is a no brainer! Stop by for some great food, quiet luxurious atmosphere, attentive service, & a good time. Be warned however, it is not cheap! If you come hungry its easy to spend 100+$ a person, so if budget is a problem, save it for a special Occassion it'll be worth the wait.

Great impeccable service from Brian, great aura, the confidence, very personable, & Donnahue "Donna" thank you, it shows she cares about her job, embodying what Yubari is, high-class & exclusivity... A great smile too! The meticulously curated menu showcases an exquisite array of traditional & innovative dishes, each a testament to the artistry of Japanese cuisine. I say "Bravo!" to the chefs, kisses to the chefs, they are exemplifying their dedication to serve excellence of each bites. Let's be honest, is it overpriced? Absolutely highway robbery, but it's not their fault, it's only yours! Even if you just want to get ripped off & impress your date (you better hope the night ends just how you are imagining it for the price you're going to pay) eating the same California roll just as the same as Joe Blow down the street, be my guest. Having said that, be a pro, accept your losses, shake your head in disbelief & take another sip of your cocktail, it'll make the seduction process less repugnant. Listen, the dish arrives at the table, you will be in awe, the presentation is nothing short of artistic, transforming each dish into a visual masterpiece, see photos... Right?! Not only a feast for the palate but also for the eyes. Yubari is a sanctuary for sushi aficionados & novices alike, promising an unparalleled gastronomic journey that is as intellectually stimulating as it is delightfully indulgent. Had a wonderful birthday here. The fish was fresh & buttery, the gyoza were flavourful & the crispy tuna was savoury albeit a bit too crispy for me. Cocktails were balanced & delicious, & the service was attentive & kind. Also the desserts were surprising & original. Would recommend coming for a special occasion!
