Really friendly staff & delicious sushi at a great value. The place is a bit small, but it still works. They have a shop with Japanese goods as well. No fried sushi unfortunately but their fresh rolls are still very good.

Les meilleurs poke bowl que j'ai mangé. Les portions sont très généreuses & tous les produits sont d'une excellente qualité & très bons. De plus, le prix est vraiment très raisonnable pour la qualité & la générosité !

I am just so addicted to this spot. UTO has no doubt the best sushi I have ever had in my life. The dishes are really of Michelin-star quality. A spot not to miss when in Montreal.
Incredible sushi, really fresh & prepared very well. The chef/proprietor is very friendly & interesting to speak with. He opened in May 2024 & works very long hours to make sure his food is the best it can be. Even the soy sauce (which the chef makes himself) had a noticeable, above the norm taste. We had sushi but the people sitting next to us had the poke bowls which looked amazing. I recommend looking at the menu & deciding which items you would prefer Not to have, then asking the chef to recommend items from the rest of the menu… His suggestions for us were spot on.
I will admit that I was skeptical of all the five star reviews, but after dinning there I see they are genuine & well deserved.
Update 8/28/2025 - I came back a year later. The sushi was just as amazing as I remember from 2024. The owner is doing an amazing job. He has maintained & even elevated the high quality & integrity of his restaurant. UTO Sushi well deserves its strong reputation.
Wonderful !! Best sushis of our life. A jewel in Montreal, the place is clean & the orner is very polite & kind.
The fish is very fresh, & my familly & I are ready to take the plane just to taste it again.
