The food was tasty & the price for it okay. The server noticed that I doesn't speak French The first time. He came back to bring me the bill & started again in French. He seemed a bit upset that I didn't understood him. I paid & then he was even more upset about the tip. Only 5 dollars!? It felt like a bit forced to tip him more so I had given him around 4 US dollars & then he smiled a bit. Location is good
This is close to our hotel so we checked it out & we were very happy we did. We had good-sized portions for our breakfast. The servers were amazing. We each had the ultimate breakfast meal while my wife had it with French toast, my son had it with a crepe, & I got the waffle with it. I recommend this spot for anyone.
My family & I had a pleasant experience at this restaurant We stumbled on this place while looking for a breakfast joint on Rue Cathrine before a campus tour. We were warmly greeted upon entry. Our server was excellent. I've never had someone ask'which language would you prefer to communicate with?' That's memorable service which warranted a huge tip at the end of our meal.
Anyway, the breakfast portions weren't huge, but just right. I ordered a western sandwich on croissant (excellent). My daughter ordered a croissant sandwich with egg, sausage & Swiss cheese (also excellent). My youngest daughter ordered plain crepes. When I tasted hers, I ordered my own single crepe as well. It was one of the best crepes I've tasted outside of what is made at home, or what Cora's serves.
I was most impressed by the bottle of maple syrup , free of charge, brought to the table to enjoy with crepes , French toast or waffles. The maple syrup was so good, i was considering sneaking the bottle into my daughter's purse (I didn't!)
We were greeted warmly by three people on the way out as well. Once again, excellent, tip-worthy service
Just a fantastic place...French style brunch, great drinks. Fantastic crepes.
This location is next to a hotel & has an upscale ambiance. There is also a covered terrace in front just off the street. We ordered the banana strawberry Nutella toast & the combo eggs & waffle with extra toast. The coffee was additional. The waffle has syrup for the table included. The texture of the waffle was just a bit harder than I like but still okay. The french toast & potatoes were great. The portion sizes are quite generous. There is plenty of seating for one person up to medium-sized groups. The menu has vegetarian options for brunch & dinner.
I went there alone. I ordered French toast with strawberries, bananas, & chocolat for breakfast. Only sweetness. The waiter never asked how the food was or tried to refill water. I saw the waiter asking each table but me. Probably because I am Asia. It was not confortable experience to déjouner there if you are not white.
We stopped in with the restaurant nearly empty. We were seated quickly & had our waters & order taken quickly as well. Service was otherwise inattentive at best. I ordered a chicken club sandwich & it came with about 6,700 french fries. Really? I'm used to seeing portions like that in the States, but come on - no one needs that much food. No wonder it was so expensive. It also didn't come with any dressing on the sandwich so I requested some. All the water they served was warm; the food was just passable, & I can't forget to mention they were creating some sort of rave, dimming & brightening the restaurant lights over & over while we sat to eat. Either that, or their power is easily overwhelmed by a microwave running in the kitchen. Just really not impressed by this place.
Have already been twice & absolutely loved it. I got the Vegetarian Omelet I believe & was very satisfied. The portion was perfect & I loved the fruit on the side. The one thing I will say is that if you order a breakfast combo, it comes with quiet a lot of bread on the side even if French toast is your main. Overall great atmosphere with pretty porch seating as well. Will definitely be going again.
Friendly place with service in both English & French. We enjoyed our breakfast. They were very flexible when we wanted to customise our order. We will visit if we ever visit the city again.
