Very good breakfast option If you are travelling downtown Montreal or visiting McGill. Nothing really special but food is pretty good. It can get very crowded tho which may affect service quality by a tiny bit but overall still a good option.
Excellent food, offering higher quality for only a small premium on price compared to other breakfast options.

Absolutely loved this place! One of the things that really stood out to me was that they offer late breakfast options, I was there aroun noon during the week & got offered both menus. Super convenient. The service was impeccable, & the food was amazing. They have a great variety of dishes for both breakfast & dinner, & everything I tried was delicious. Highly recommend!
My family & I had a pleasant experience at this restaurant We stumbled on this place while looking for a breakfast joint on Rue Cathrine before a campus tour. We were warmly greeted upon entry. Our server was excellent. I've never had someone ask'which language would you prefer to communicate with?' That's memorable service which warranted a huge tip at the end of our meal.
Anyway, the breakfast portions weren't huge, but just right. I ordered a western sandwich on croissant (excellent). My daughter ordered a croissant sandwich with egg, sausage & Swiss cheese (also excellent). My youngest daughter ordered plain crepes. When I tasted hers, I ordered my own single crepe as well. It was one of the best crepes I've tasted outside of what is made at home, or what Cora's serves.
I was most impressed by the bottle of maple syrup , free of charge, brought to the table to enjoy with crepes , French toast or waffles. The maple syrup was so good, i was considering sneaking the bottle into my daughter's purse (I didn't!)
We were greeted warmly by three people on the way out as well. Once again, excellent, tip-worthy service
9 of us had breakfast & they were all amazing. Staff was friendly & included the kids. Great place. Great service.
When we visit Montréal, this is where we go for breakfast. Kids enjoy it & so do we because of the many options available. They have so much to choose from. Food is always great, as well as the service & we never really have to wait. We'll be back next time we're in Montréal!

We had the pleasure of being served by Vicky & oh my goodness. The drinks are strong, the food is DELICIOUS & HOT, & the atmosphere is awesome & the service is stellar. I got the breakfast poutine & from the first bite, I was in love. Paired greatly with an Irish coffee. Vicky was very prompt, attentive, & had great recommendations, DESPITE having the whole place packed, she is a natural & I hope she is working the next trip we take to Montreal because we will 100% be back for seconds.
Breakfast is not all day, despite google description. Took forever for our order to be taken & then basically ignored till bills were due

One day I decided to eat my breakfast at Universel, & after ordering my meal I ask the bill, then I realize that there is no mobile phone payment option. The bill was 20.10$, I paid 20$ because this is only what I had as cash money. For """""10 CENT"""" The restaurant manager complained about 2-3 minutes with me. No more money to you. (Also somehow I forgot to mention. That idiot manager also asked me to give my ID to him!!!!. )
A friend brought me there. I'm a breakfast person. Food & service was fine. A little loud. Will go back. Milkshake for breakfast? Yessss. ----- Un ami m'y a amené. Je suis un amateur de petit-déjeuner. La nourriture & le service étaient bons. Un peu bruyant. J'y retournerai. Un milkshake pour déjeuner? Oui!
Nice place for breakfast. Meals are big & fresh. Calamari aren't the best.
